    I'm a big fan of yours. I'm in my early 40's so you're much younger than me and I don't usually sub to many channels because I think it's stupid but your humility is unmatched and I appreciate how humble you are because it is because of people like your subs that make your channel a success. Of course, you put out great content but a few months ago, I did not know who you were and I'm glad I know you a bit more now. Thanks for all that you do! I wished I saw this sooner. I just got into gywed boots and I'm on TBC boots because I work from home full-time and I can't imagine paying anything more than $300 for a pair of boots but I have two pairs of Captains. One in Classic Black and then another in Arizona adobe. A black and brown pair. The classic is for more dressy occasions and my AA's are for daily use and kicking shit around. If I was still working in an office I may be able to justify spending so much on a pair of boots but it would still be challenging. $600-700 is a lot of money to spend on boots. I'm not a cheap person either. I bought a Herman Miller Embody which is a $1700 chair and a $1000 s/s desk but those I can justify since I work from home but a pair of boots when I barely leave the house is a harder pill to swallow especially since my wife and I only leave the house on weekends and to go shopping when we're off. Anyways, tmi, I know but I figured I would explain where I'm coming from. If I had the money to blow I would buy any of your collabs in a hot second but after my dream boot from Carmina. lol.

    5:35 I don't have a problem with bear hunting or any hunting. Not sure why anyone that watches a channel on leather goods made from animal skin would have a problem with that though. Some are beneficial like the hunting of invasive wild pig in the USA. It's just poachers, illegal hunting, that are the problem.
    Back to the boots, I love the idea of a knife and stash pocket on a boot. It's different.

      They are losers at life. They think bears are cuddly little rare animals that will go extinct if they're hunted sustainably. They are the same people that are cool with buying trash meat at the store and feeding their kids McDonald's, but wouldn't harvest a deer to have meat for an entire 6 months. They truly lose at every aspect of life. It's so sad to see, because they're so content with being losers.

    The White's construction actually doesn't have much in common with a Goodyear welt, or a handsewn flat welt. It's really a 270° handsewn rolled-welt norvegese construction, or that's what I've been calling it. If I ever make another pair of boots, I'm going to ditch the traditional chain-stitch, which is normally used on Norwegian constructed boots, and try a 360° handsewn rolled-welt norvegese construction; because it hides the Norwegian stitch under a layer of leather (the rolled down welt), which makes the boots more water-resistant, and the welt becomes another layer of the stitch-down, adding to the durability of the boot. It's really an awesome addition to a Norwegian construction, and I'm grateful it exists, and is still done by White's. Also, the holdfast in the leather insole is cut by hand, so there's no canvas gemming, which makes for a really tough pair of boots; very impressive.

    Congrats on another great collab. These look kinda like the Whites Farmer/Rancher but 10" and red dawg. This is a very nicks like naming scheme where for instance a 10" and 8" of a boot style have a whole different name. That said, these are fantastic. Im not a fan of the more packer boot style and would have been more at home with an nd1 or nd2 but the quality is undeniable. My Perrys have lasted great for over a year now and i dont see them wearing out any time soon. They need another clean and condition but whites makes a damn good boot, even the less expensive goodyear welt ones.

    First, LOOOOVE the color of that leather! The add-on pocket kit is pretty damn cool. Great looking boot, I dig the collab!
    Second, I will say I'm definitely not the target market for boots like these(done with construction, lol). I don't know if you're ever going to do another collab boot that's more shop oriented, but I would really be into that. Shorter height, lighter weight, lower heel rise, but still a high quality build & construction that I can beat up and scuff up out in the shop(doing race car stuff these days) for years. Maybe a softer sole too for those long days standing on concrete; because it'll be resoleable, so that's a fair trade-off for a long term work boot for this use. Would definitely be interested in something like this, and I think a lot of others would be too.

    Imo a daily versatile boot needs to be a 6" boot. Once you get much taller than that you begin to make it a chore to put on and take off and so it inevitably loses some versatility

    • @Totemparadox
      @Totemparadox 2 года назад +1

      In my opinion 6" is too short especially with thick leather. That shaft just doesn't like to break in like taller boots. 8" is perfect for me.

      @@ryaniam22 Leverage. The shaft being taller on an 8 or 10 inch boots means you need less force to crease the leather in the ankle area. In the end both will feel the same but a taller boot just breaks in faster at the ankle area.

    You have 603,000 subscribers and lord only knows how many others watching your stuff. All of which are boot lovers. Whites would be idiotic to not do a collab with you. First time I heard of nicks was the video you cut some in half and my jaw hit the floor when I saw the inside of that boot. One day I will own a pair of nicks just because of that video. In fact I wish they would bring back the ND 1

    I bet the quality is top notch, up there with Nick's, Frank's, JK maybe closer to WESCO bit i find their styling a bit behind listed above. But that's my personal opinion.
    Thanks for the video. Always great content.

    The EDC kit is dope. I might have to pick one up for my engineers. What's the minimum recommended boot height for these without putting it too low/at the flex point?

    • @RoseAnvil2
      @RoseAnvil2  2 года назад

      I would recommend an 8" boot at least, but I did put one slightly diagonal onto a 6" boot, but definitely would recommend something higher.

    For $650 this is an absolute steal. Personally I won't be buying them cause I got Nicks incomming and I just don't like high heels, but the boot looks fantastic. I might copy some of those pockets into my Nicks boots when I get them.

    Damn sexy boots. If I had the money right now, I'd have a pair to match with the ones I picked up for my wife at goodwill, and did a video on to show off how happy I was to score a 6" White's packer for my wife at only 12$!

    I get it Nicks and Whites are nice but $500-1000 is just more then I can spend. I imagine that is a sentiment of a lot of people. Could you do the Red Wing loggermax or the Silver Fox moc toe as an alternative to custom boots?

  • @lukesandell5308
    @lukesandell5308 2 года назад

    You said this is the pre-release/release of the knife pocket set.
    Will you be sourcing the leather fron the likes of Nick's and whites.
    I have a pair of nicks work boots on the way but would love for them to have a knife pocket in matching walnut leather.
    I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who would love a knife or card pocket on their work or casual boots, but would want matching leather to their boots.
    Keep up the good work
