  • From the Glencadam website:
Our multi-award winning, Glencadam Reserva Andalucía pays homage to the relationship between Glencadam Distillery and the famous sherry region of Andalucía, Spain.
Handcrafted using carefully selected sherry butts from Glencadam Distillery’s dunnage warehouses and marrying together with bourbon casks, this fine single malt is then finished in Oloroso Sherry butts from Andalucía.
The result is a rich and sherry-forward expression, where the famous fruitiness of the Glencadam spirit is balanced with sultana and sweet-spice notes, that come from the Oloroso Sherry cask maturation.

I really liked the PX reserva, top notch dram

The only Glencadam I've tried is the 15. I recently opened it, and have tried just a few tiny drams. Can't really say I've figured it out yet, but I'm sure it's coming. I only get sort of a dusty flavour and cinnamon. But it usually takes a while before the fireworks really gets going. I'd definitely try this though, at UK prices anyway!

Really enjoy Glencadam, but not a fan of this one. Thin & disappointing. I'll stick to the 10/15 & you can have this one Vin :)

I really do need to explore the age stated glencadams

I am a big Glencadam fan. If you haven’t tried them may I recommend the tawny port cask finish and the PX sherry cask finish. They are two real belters!

I had a bottle of the PX and a sample of the Tawny and agree, both stellar drams (and marginally better than this I think

Not tried this one but have the reserva px open at the moment. Love everything that comes out from Glencadam usually but this one might be a touch too light for me but the sounds of it.

I love the PX as well. Superb. I think this holds up against it but obviously no where near as sweet. When I ranked them I put this 3rd behind the PX and Tawny Port

I’ve been looking at the Glencadam white port wine finish. Still prefer the 10 & the 15 for price and quality. Good video Vin. Slàinte

I wasn't a fan of the white port, but I was the only one on the tasting that thought that 😅

This one is not available in the US generally, although a few specialty online shops have it for 3X MSRP-- no thanks. I do like the Glencadam brand and the 10 yo is a great value in the US. I love the fruit salad flavors so I know I'd like it and I know why this bottle is a goner... Cheers, Vin.

As always, it's definitely not worth that. A shame that it's not allocated properly but hopefully that'll change. There's loads of this about

Remember this one from the roundtable. Seems like a really solid value.

First comment! Just like years ago! Wooo! 🎉
Also, absolutely love this bottling. Lovely vanilla (I imagine sherry casks were American oak) and a nice topping of sherry. After the first few glasses, I went back to buy another bottle for me and another for a friend. Cheers, Vin!

Do you see many of the other reservas over there?

@@NoNonsenseWhisky The Oloroso cask finish is the only reserva that I've seen. It's only sold in a chain store known for doing parallel imports for bottles that the official importer doesn't think are worth focusing on. But they also have a few exclusive distributions of some bottles, as well. So it's hard to know which is the case. It would be great if more of the reserva bottlings could make their way over here, though.
Might be tough to do, though. The importer for Angus Dundee's whiskies doesn't do, to my knowledge, any public promotion work for any of their whiskies. Not at whisky/spirits trade shows. No FB promotions for local bar events. No tickets on popular Chinese-language event ticketing sites/apps. Their products are otherwise widely available, in shops, though, which keeps the smoldering embers of my hope going, at least.
