  • Things don't always go right when working on a bike. After 2 hours of being unable to get the first bolt loosened on the CRF250f forks, Bruce saved the day with a simple tip to use a chisel to tap the bolt loose.

Excellent video.......I’m so glad you did this. Great you had issues and corrected them on camera.

Thanks, I was very reluctant to use a chisel as Bruce had suggested... But it worked like a charm. I have no idea how a dealer would get those bolts off without damaging them. They were very soft/cheap... even without heating them up they were slipping.

@@Garagehype199 If I cross this bridge, I may try a hammer drill to break it free... and new crush washers. Another video suggests "all the bolts are too tight from the factory" on the 250F... they advised touching all the bolts on the bike when it's new to prevent the down the road headaches... perhaps the factory uses hammer drills to assemble the bike.

@@thetruthserum2816 let me know how it works. Bruce said using the same crush washers would be fine, and it worked out. No leaks. But they're cheap enough to be worth not having a headache and have to put a project on hold.

Great video. Can you let us know where you bought the flute extenders?

Do you recommend these longe bbr springs over the hyperlite 46k springs (15% stiffer than stock) that are stock length?.

I can't speak to a comparison since I haven't used both, but based on Bruce's recs (he is a suspension god) for my height / weight I would need the longer springs. The upgrades made a world of difference.... I have a beta 300rr as well and depending on what I am riding I prefer my 250f... with the suspension upgrade it does anything enduro-y minus the massive hills and its such a play bike you can throw around not have to worry about breaking.

For front and rear it was about 900-1000. Made all the difference in the world.

I plan on it! Wanna get a few more rides in before I talk about it. Preliminarily though... It definitely stiffens the bike up and I haven't bottomed out yet
