You guys are going to make the 250F sales go through the roof! 😂 So refreshing to see someone take the logical and robust route instead of blasting away on pricey “race ready” machines. Maybe 10% of the riding population can truly make use of those bikes, yet it seems 60% buy into them. Albeit, you took the long way around to come to that conclusion, but that makes it that much more convincing. Love it!
I have been riding off road for 20+ years and I have come to realize I have way more fun on air cooled 2 valve singles. No more high strung competition bikes for me.
Damn guys. I'm riding an FE501S and you have me seriously thinking about CRF250F. I love the 55HP in my tuned FE for wide open desert and jaunts on the highway, but you are seriously making an impact on the way we should be looking at bikes. I think the most compelling and valuable take away from this whole series is showing how both an experienced and less experienced rider are completely in love and satisfied with the same bike, with just some minor mods to suit them to height and weight of the user. I'm seriously considering buying a 250F when I see the right deal and then I will have to decide if it replaces or joins my Husky in the garage. My biggest problem is that I live in California and it might be difficult to legally get a plate on this bike.
Great Job Lexi. Keep those feet on the pegs and keep moving forward. The second you take your feet off the pegs you are done. :( I think you might be in too high of a gear too. It's ok to rev the bike out a little bit. It will keep it from stalling. That bike is so much better for you.
Right! Seems like she is so focused on standing, but also when sitting needs to focus on keeping feet on pegs. Plus easier to bail if you keep your feet on the pegs. Coaching my kids I constantly tell them to keep feet on the pegs.
Alexis, i feel like you are a gear too high most times. Fantastic job, technical terrain takes some technique for sure. Thats what makes it fun. We New Englanders love the technical stuff.
I hate to be one of those youtube commenters but I think if there's one thing that's super important when you feel like you have to dab is to keep at least one foot on the pegs. You see this all the time in hard enduro. A bunch of riders with butt on the seat struggling to get moving in a technical section, and then there's one rider keeping one foot on the peg to control the bike and apply pressure. It's common when the bike gets squirrely to sit down and try to touch with both feet off the pegs. It's ok to dab and put a foot on the ground but you will have more control if you keep one foot on the peg. Plus, I find that it makes it easier to touch the ground with one foot if you keep the other on a peg. So if you (or anyone) feels like they need to find a place to put their feet, commit to putting one foot down on one side of the bike! Sorry for the mansplaining if it comes off that way.
It is great to see Alexis conquer that rocky single track. She has made tremendous progress in her dirt biking skills. I did notice that she looks very stiff when standing. It might be a good idea to work with her on leaning the bike under her when standing. Looking forward to seeing more single track when you get back east.
You are so getting it, now! Great job. Just discovered this channel and you Two. So, if this has been mentioned by Alexis or to her already, apologies...When you see those obstacles, Do Not look at them, let your brain calculate what you first saw and ride by them. Look 20-30 feet in front of where you are heading, at all times.
Cool video…. We just had our AMRA Race at Kelly Canyon a few weeks ago. Definitely all rocky single track and it was fun !!! It actually started raining and even a little sleet during our race !!! Keep up the great work and having fun !!!
Dang bro! Almost at 100k I remember when you had like 12k. I’ve been watching since around the time you started with your first grom video. I don’t watch every video definitely always subbed and hyped on the content From one wheels to e bikes to dirt bikes and scooters. Never know what you’ll get next 😂
Love the content guys. Alexis is so much more confident on that Honda. I know you have lots of drills and technique tips but I found some really good drills on the IRC tire guy YT. Rich Larsen did a 10 episode series on bike and clutch control that is pure gold for riders of all levels. Even I a rider of 40 years leant some new drills that have further improved my bike control. Never underestimate the slow tight drills. Static balance drills also. Stay safe live free and adventure daily. Regards Michael.
As americans i know we are obssesed with stats and power numbers, but my god who cares at some point. I bought another crf250f and i dont see myself "needing" anything bigger. I also bought a honda foreman 520 that is "old and outdated" and i dont need anything else.
I've got a 2018 Honda Rubicon and looking at the 250F. Also have a Rally 300. This after selling my African twin and 450L. Been riding off road since 1983 when I was 10
When your learning and unsure and short, being able to touch the ground is golden. The last time we rode Flagstaff, we had stashed some gas cans in the middle of our planned ride, someone stole the gas....and left the cans...lol probably some tree hugger, need gas for their VW bus..
Great Job! LOL, I still remember when my buddy's girlfriend got her first bike, he taught her how to ride in like 2 or 3 session then we went off on a gnarly 100km off road trip 😂 It was great fun, and she did really well for her first actual ride. It was a CRF230 that she had and such an awesome little bike. We still talk about that adventure.
She handled those rocks like a champ! The GoPro doesn’t show how gnarly those rocks truly are. That being said, I visited a friend back east a couple weeks ago and we did some woods riding. Holy crap, I don’t how you guys ride so fast through those trees, I felt so confined like I was riding through a tunnel. Also, some of the trails were covered with falling leaves which made traction a nightmare. It just goes to show that every region presents its own unique challenges and unless you’re used to riding there you’re going to struggle.
one of the last rides i went on last year was after a really bad wind/rain storm and yea, the leaves on the ground are a nightmare because its easy to lose the trail and makes for a very slick surface, southern maine btw. i would love to go riding out west (i think lol).
I highly recommend the viola racing exhaust, air box mod and the ejk fuel injection tuner. I got all these from Scott at HyperLite! Really wakes the bike up and is a lot more enjoyable to ride
Been getting back into riding offroad over the last 2.5 years. I've found a handful of good riding spots for singletrack in the southern Ohio / Indiana / northern Kentucky areas. You might already know a couple of these places, but let me know if you'd be interested!
Tanner What Brand Do You Wear For Chest and Back Protection? I would like to Try Some of The Rocky Stuff But I Want As Much Protection for MY Upper Body.
Hey you guys should consider riding the Midhurst trail ride in Ontario next year! It’s approximately 130Kms through some of ontarios best single track!!
Question I'm new to dirt not riding, just purchased and sold shortly after a 22 300rr was too big for me size wise. I'm contemplating either a xtrainer or a crf250f which one do you guys suggest having owned both? Thanks
They really need to come out with a dual sport or trail bike with the power, frame, and suspension of a 300-450 for advanced riders that are vertically challenged. Obv they make lowering links etc but it throws off the intended geometry, a 37"+ seat height might be fine on a track or out in open country but it really hurt my confidence on enduro, street, and single track when stuff is obviously not level. (Talking a 450RL and KTM here mainly).
i too feel like there could be a balance made somewhere between a big engine and tall seat. its not a problem for me, but def for my wife. go back 35 - 40 years and youl'll get the old school bikes with dual rear shocks, way less travel but have a bigger motor (that most people wouldnt know how to kick start these days) lol
Excellent video! I've loved watching the evolution, except the part about altering a Boomer's thought process. lol I'm sposs'ta know everything, you know. I guess that Brad Lackey-like KTM 500 fantasy will have to go back in the closet for a while :-(
A Magura hydraulic clutch would help a lot, or an easy pull clutch perch maybe? I have an RHK clutch perch on my CRF250F and the pull is much lighter 👍 Those black rims are going to look good as well on the bikes 😬
Looks like a fun day. Great video guys! BTW: I needed a ride after moving a tractor (semi truck) to the plant by my house. I said screw it and walked. Made a short vid along the way, check it out. LFAD!
I saw 0 tight corners on this video lol. Y’all change bikes so often instead of just getting seat time In the same bike to get use to it. . I’ll show y’all some real tight single here jn Tn which isn’t even far from your home in Ohio.
Imagine what she could do on the 125 big wheel, instead of fighting the larger bike at every turn. The weight ratio doesn't make sense. A 100lb person fighting a 265lb bike is the equivalent of a 200lb guy riding a 450lb bike. Could you imagine trail riding a 450lb bike that you can't even touch both feet to the ground?
😈😈😈😈 Ive got it ... big wheeled 80 cc 2 smoke ... stretch the frame for a 4 stroke engine 250 if possible yamaha wr or something ... 😈😈😈😈😈 you need walkie talkies talking her through the rides also ... telling her to trust in her balance and leaning 😈😈😈 you set the micro phones to the engije sound , so the motor doesnt sound to each other only speaking 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
honestly anything bigger than a 125 is probably a stretch for her but i still cant get over how she was riding a full size bike before this one! lol my wife is 4 inches taller, and struggles to ride my drz400 thats got some serious sag in the rear shock.
In all seriousness, why are the two of you riding on a difficult trail like that? Selling the KTM and Husky was a big mistake. The issue is your experience and ability. The takeaway I see here is the squeaky clean riding gear and bikes; it’s an indicator they’re spending all their time filming and modifying the bikes rather than riding them. Truth.
Becuse they are riding trails at a leisurely pace they don’t need a race ready buke that costs twice as much and needs 3 times the maintenance. Crf250f is the right bike for the application.
I dont think thats Lake Mary.....last time i was there was in the 90's and it was dry....but Beautiful regardless. Was wondering where you guys have been, good to see you are still doing your thing.

Doesn’t the crf250f have 4 valves?
Lexi, you're becoming an accomplished rider. Nice job. Thanks to you both for sharing.
Damn guys. I'm riding an FE501S and you have me seriously thinking about CRF250F. I love the 55HP in my tuned FE for wide open desert and jaunts on the highway, but you are seriously making an impact on the way we should be looking at bikes.

A good drill for this is riding with one foot off the peg over rough sections even when you don’t have to. Then alternate.
It is great to see Alexis conquer that rocky single track. She has made tremendous progress in her dirt biking skills.

As much as Michigan sand is tough to ride in, after watching this I think I'll keep it. Those rocks must hurt if taking a spill!
It's the sound of progress, my friend!

Alexis absolutely crushed it!!! God, I gotta start a 250F build. I have ideassssss.
Does she have a rekluss clutch? If not may be something she could really benefit from
Lex’s comments spoke to me haha. After this weekend, it makes me appreciate her abilities!
😆 practice practice practice, you did good - looking forward to next time!

props to Lexi. those loose softball sized rocks are not an easy thing to ride over. great Job
Work on that static balance and clutch modulation.
I live very close to those trails. Would love to come ride it with you guys next year!

When you coming back to ohio? Been to Wayne a couple times already this year look forward to more videos I can watch while I work
Shirt idea's "rock crawlin 🎵'" with a little chibi riding a enduro. #2 "Maintaining speed🎵" again with a chibi riding an enduro
Great job!! That bike definitely suits you alot better couldn't had been fun not being able to touch ground on your KTM.
Going to try 2 stroke next ?
Watch the newest video!
9:47 Had me cracking up XD

You guys should get some new YZ250FX next year.
The hardest single track In my opinion has to be in the anthracite fields of north eastern pa.
I'm curious ,didn't you buy a mini house at some point?

one thing worse than those rocks, and thats loose rocks... ive been riding 27 years and nothing throws my confidence out the window faster....
Perfect bike for Lex
Her legs are so short she can barely get enough knee bend for a solid attack position but she still kills it!
A Magura hydraulic clutch would help a lot, or an easy pull clutch perch maybe? I have an RHK clutch perch on my CRF250F and the pull is much lighter 👍

How do you find trails? Can you do a tutorial?
OnX offroad will map a bunch of trails, I use it for all sorts of trail maps
Can the cfr 125 fb do the job for this roads??
She should have started with this bike from the beginning instead of waisting time with the bunch of "forever" bikes that were clearly too big for her
you don't want to be standing in corners, what is this constant standing trend with everyone lately?
Love the video but damn you've done a lot of cuts in-between every sentence. I got dizzy watching it 😁
It still almost looks too big for her.... Great job out on those trails guys 🙌
