The main plot involves rusalka failing to become a bride and being banished to the dark depths of the ocean due to the conditions of her contract with a witch. Much like the little mermaid, she was stripped of her voice and was jinxed by the witch. To avoid her fate of eternal damnation she would have to successfully marry herself to the man of her desire. Ultimately she fails to convince the man who ends up choosing another woman over her. This was all the due to the machinations of the witch who was jealous of her beauty and naivety for love. She wanted to break her heart and show her that love is not real.
Interesting how the lore behind Angel Slayer & Inferno Slayer mirror each other: A renegade Lumen Sage & Umbran Witch on a quest to hunt down Angels & Demons, ending mysteriously missing with nothing, but their weapons left behind and later reclaimed by Rodin. I'd like the idea of them crossing paths at some point and engaging in a fierce and later respectful rivalry, opposite but similar to Balder & Rosa.
One of my *FAVE* parts about playing as Jeanne in the Bayonetta games. Her weapons not only get new names but all new lore as well. Platinum didn't have to go so HARD on such a minor thing, but they did.
The Scarborough Fair all say Parsley because they’re a high def version of the low poly Scarborough Fair which all have Parsley in combat but changes to the right engravings in cutscenes
Amazing video. I’ve actually never unlocked Rosa in Bayonetta 2, I always thought her guns functioned similar to Bayo/Jeanne’s. But they actually act a bit more like Onyx Roses… Makes sense given their insane damage.
In Devil May Cry 4, the Rusalka’s are also Ice Spirits that are attached to the Frozen Frog, Bael and his brother Dagon. Dagon’s Rusalka’s are red while Bael’s are blue
Whereas Agni was in DMC3, joined by Rudra(wind god in Hindu Mythology, related to Shiva) as brothers with their heads located on the huge machetes, containing both wind and fire based elements.
I'm so glad you made this video, I've been waiting on this video for quite awhile now. Even though, on Jeannes weapon talk about on your video on bayonetta 1, I was curious when you will make this and my curiousity was confirmed. Tbh, wanted to watch all the bayonetta and bayonetta 2 lore, before the lore of bayonetta and I'm almost done with it. And yes, I played both game and I love when you and others do analysis on this game. It makes me learn so much that I'll continue to do so before I do bayonetta 3 and tried not to be spoiled a lot lol. Thanks for uploading it. You missed Jeanne's variant to Chain Chomp. She wears Luigi's hat with the letter "J" on top, while having his mustache, but sadly doesn't say "Mama Mia!" while taunting compared to Bayonetta.
Wait. Isn’t the Rosa’s chains power has long worn off. She now wearing it for reminder that she broke the law, right? Idk if it’s true but that’s what I heard
She does wear the chains as a reminder but it never said in the description of her robes that the suppression wore off. Just why they were given to her in the first place.
