  • After nearly a 4 year hiatus due to COVID and lack of funds and requirements of people to stay separated and away from crowded spaces, the NYTM Bus Festival finally returned back to Brooklyn, featuring a lineup of special old buses that some of which have not been seen in quite a while. Some buses include Old Look's, Fishbowls of multiple types, and an RTS-06, previously owned by Jamaica Bus Lines, which is now known as Baisley Park Bus Depot in MTA Bus Company. Many of these buses have a long history with their service life and after retirement during their preservation. A special bus on top of the main lineup was 2019 New Flyer XE60 4953 from Michael J. Quill Bus Depot, which was present as an untold "secret" bus. All of these buses were prepared and maintained to their best condition by Zerega's maintenance facility. A lot of debate was discussed as to what buses would be present at the festival, but it all came down to these main buses: "Betsy", a double decker Fifth Avenue Lines coach built in 1931, "Old Look" 2969 built in 1948 - otherwise known as the Jackie Gleason bus, "Old Look" 3100 built in 1956, "Old Look" 9098 built in 1958, "New Look" 100 built in 1959 - our first Fishbowl, "New Look" 5227 built in 1971 - rebuilt by Blitz Corporation of Chicago and got the name of the Blitz Rebuilds, also featuring the cooperate scheme which was phased out in 2016, and finally TMC RTS-06 3865 which was originally a part of Queens Surface, and later went to Jamaica Buses and eventually transferred to MTA Bus Company after the 2005 private lines takeover.
Huge thanks and credits to Amber for providing all of the clips seen in this video to make this video possible, as I did not attend the festival due to my own business taking up my time. #mtabus
