This was, well, fire! As always, these are just my opinions and my interpretation of the MV based on first viewing, I'm sure I missed a ton of stuff but I'm kind of happy with my understanding of the MV and if you got anything else to add, as always, feel free! 😁 Have a good week, ya'll! Much Love!
To explain MIC Drop and what spoon means (this is from doolsetbangtan): Yeah 누가 내 수저 더럽대 Yeah, who said my spoon is dirty I don’t care 마이크 잡음 금수저 여럿 패 I don’t care Once I hold my mic, I beat up several gold spoons Background information: Spoon class theory refers to the idea that individuals can be classified into different socioeconomic classes (spoon classes) based on the income or assets of their parents and that one’s success in life depends entirely on being born into a wealthy family. The most commonly talked-about spoon classes are (in hierarchical order): the gold spoon, the silver spoon, the bronze spoon, the dirt spoon. (side note: there’s something called “the diamond spoon class” even above the gold spoons.) BTS, coming from a small entertainment agency in an industry that is dominated and almost governed by few big agencies, has been going through unfair treatments and unnecessary hardships. 1theK has a better translation for the MV of Fire (so has doolsetbangtan): 애쓰지 좀 말어 져도 괜찮아 Don’t try too hard, it’s okay to lose and not: It's okay to be a looser Both is very different. The song is a freeing from a system that you can only make it in life if you "win" and fight all the time. The truth is many people have never heard that sentence. It usually has added on thing like: next time, X has simply more talent/connections/money, you didn't work hard enough/try harder etc. Koreans have heard that even far rarer as we. Prof. Lee Jiyoung has not only written a book about BTS. She is an university professor of philosophy and has given many talks (including scientific ones) on BTS ( & Army) and explainations. Despite her age - she is not their age or younger - she has pulled out that line (among others) to explain why BTS is different and spoken that this line took her breath away as she had never heard it her entire life. Personally the people in Hoodies? could be Army. Suga is checking them out and set them - with the song - on "fire" (it is not meant literally I think). They are teaching the listener a lesson to own their own life - at least that is my interpretation. It is more of making your own choices and even being able to change your choices but especially to give up on choices that others made of and for you . BTW: The time you comment on the footwork? is known as "3:33 Jimin" because that is an especially tricky part and he is in the front. A few years ago (like every year it seems) the national TV station brought out a vid to the Korean national anthem with what Koreans are proud of. In it is also a short BTS clip of this passage. I love your joy with which you commented on the Song (Fire and dance practice)! You nice! Keep going! 💜
Nice catch on the spoon concept. It's a concept that divides people into castes or classes, sort of like the saying "being born with a silver spoon in your mouth". If you like Fire, you'd probably also really like Not Today if you haven't already heard that one. It's my go-to when my pain tries to get the better of me. (and the "who left the kids alone?" totally made my day because they often make me feel like a proud mom. Lmao! 😂)
Loved, loved, loved your take on this video. Aren’t they amazing? You can’t judge BTS by just any one song. They are multi-talented, multi-faceted. I always enjoy your reactions, whether they are a group I follow or not. Take care of yourself.💜❤️
I have always believed that guys in hoodies can represent much more than haters. Think Fake Love. There Jungkook meets himself. I think Fire has Suga meeting the cookie cutter self which is expected of him. He is an artist whose choices right or wrong are seemingly protected by the fence of youth. He jumps the fence to meet the self expected of him to say I will burn my own path no matter how mistake ridden. At the start of the mv he has been immersed in the song Dope which speaks to following your passions and not letting society's view of you make you lose drive and hope. At the end of Fire, Suga affirms the path he is about to go on saying to his future I'll forgive you. He has chosen to burn up his expected course and will forgive his youthful self for makingthis choice no matter whether he ultimately loses or wins.
For some reason I thought you have seen this one. So glad you FINALLY see and hear this one. FIRE! ---- "I forgive you" I think is directed at people who told them they are nobodies who should never have the audacity to dream to make it to the top ("dirty spoons"). A lot of their earlier work I noticed are coloured by anger and push backs against forces around them who would prefer that they retreated into a corner as they continued to be boxed in my prejudice within the kpop industry.
So analogy to spoon is a talk about people classes in korea. Like lower class is dirty spoon, the silver spoon the medium and the rich people from high class are golden spoons and this is just classism. They talking about it also in Baepsae (which is bird name in korea also related to this), the tittle in english is Silver Spoon.
Fire as a song is so hype but the dance practice is a favorite because of how intense the ending gets. Hard hitting sets. Live lately this is even more fun because they remixed the song into a totally different music style (my weekly rant on why can’t they just release the concert stage remixes because I need them so much).
I think the dirty spoon from mic drop is reference to the people who told them they are from lower class or something like that because they were from a small company and also telling them that they will never make it Thanks for the reaction 💜
DG, I want to thank you for including the dance practice. I came across a RUclips video back in the fall of 2015 that was a BTS dance practice. I had no clue who BTS was but I was so impressed with their dancing I starred listening to their music and learned about them as a group and all they went through to get to where they are now. These Gus are do multi-talented it’s truly amazing. I’m an older ARMY at 70 years old, and I can’t believe how I came to love them and admire them. Impressed that they have stayed so kind and humble through out their career. Also, some of the songs have explanation/theory videos that others have posted. I encourage you to check them out. As an American I don’t get dome of the Korean cultural references and since some of their songs have very deep lyrics. I encourage you to check them out, a good source is xCelete and DKDKTV videos. I’m enjoying watching your journey of discovering BTS. May I request that you don’t use God’s name as a swear word, it’s offense and I’m not sure you meant to do that, but as a Christian I would really appreciate it.
About facing troubles - yes, there are always people having a harder time, but that DOESN'T MAKE YOUR TROUBLES INVALID. Grateful that BTS always make us feel like we're not alone. Be kind to yourselves, people!
I love that you mention SUGA forgiving the person whom he ignites in the beginning scene, spinning a more positive note on how, despite people who don't acknowledge their impact, they will always be the bigger, more humble person due to how kind they are as people.
Great reaction. I think I must have watched this dance practice a thousand times and I love watching other people reacting to it. Awesome dance practice. One of their best in my humble opinion.
Nice reaction! I love the choreography in Fire. It’s amazing. And the shadows on the back wall in the MV almost become extra characters in the video ~ larger than life. So glad you enjoyed…💜
the song i n this intro is DOPE they're previous song before FIRE to me DOPE is still today my favorite BTS song even if i love many many many many of they're songs .
Omg, Fireeee, one of fans favorites in terms of hyping songs. This song is truly iconic and was big hit when it came out in Korea. I'm wondering if you ever considered reacting to whole albums? Maybe on Patreon? I would love to see you diving deeper into their discography 🥰
Late to the party, but I just found your channel a few days ago and have been binging your BTS reactions. Thanks for doing an awesome job…. And yes, I watched the whole video even though I’ve seen it probably a dozen times. 💜
Ok so I really really recommend you to check out Baepsae It's also translated to silver spoon/crow-tit Which are like crows with long legs. They represent the older generation that scold young people because they are "lazy" and "born with a silver spoon in the mouth". But actually the young people are like crows with short legs, that however have to do the same path of the crows with long legs and keep up. I absolutely love this song and its lyrics, if you have time I recommend you listen to it:) (Sorry for the bad explanation lol)
Fire is the song i go to if im in the mood to dance and if i ever go to karaoke this would be the song i pick to do. This song makes me want to get up and dance along and is one of those songs that you cant help but dance too. And i know i keep saying this but i love jimins high note in this song as it sends shivers down my spine (also i can hit jimins high notes perfectly)
bangtan was singing and preforming every song and live gig like its their last.....that became their dna...they are still preforming like that be it a bts thing or their solo effort..they just give it all....yes...inspiational for 10 years now...Legends they are💜💞.
I've been catching up on your reaction videos slowly over the last few days and loved your message at the beginning of this. Totally with you that K-pop really meant a lot to me in the last year, I've loved BIGBANG and 2NE1 for a long time but stopped listening so delving back in in 2021 to now has been a great time. & yes, Fire is such a jam!
I've long wondered whether Jin's line "it's okay to be a loser" was accurate. I like to think it's actually more like "it's okay to lose". I finally put the Korean lyrics in Google Translate (though I know it isn't always reliable), and it came up as "okay to lose" -- which honestly sounds more like BTS to me. 😅 The line is 애쓰지 좀 말어 (말어) 져도 괜찮아 (져도 괜찮아) in case a Korean speaker can confirm. I only know that 'kwaenchana' means "it's okay".
Fire is a perennial favorite! It's impossible to sit still while it's playing. Isn't it amazing when you find yourself watching dance practice videos? Did you ever anticipate that when you started listening to BTS and kpop? lol
This was fireee!!! Literally! There's so much energy in their dancing .. recommend you to watch some of their live perfomance. And also .. Enhypen & TXT did the cover of 'Fire' .. video's called 'Legend of K- POP' and it's basically mix of the best kpop bops! it's amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Yeeesss!!! "Mic Drop" and "Fire" are my first-thing-every-morning playlist! 😁😁😁 love the 90's vibes! 💜💜💜 A request from me would be an older but AMAZING song "Boy IN Love" pleaaaseee 😁😁😁😁 Big hugs!!!! 💜💜💜
Ty for the BTS vids 🥰 Speaking of Jimin, there is a popular video " Jimin making guys question their sexuality for 11 min " with famous RUclipsrs including Pew Dee Pie..it's hilarious as shit 😆
I think this might be my most listened to BTS song? Play this in a club and the whole room ERUPTS. But now there's one thing I need to ask: Do you want to see the girls of LOONA absolutely murder this choreography? Loona have done a few iconic dance covers and the two best ones are Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 and Fire by BTS. In both cases I've seen the Loona dance covers way more often than the actual MVs. A must watch for any Orbit. Maybe something to pair up with your next Loona reaction?
This was the start of their era, after years and years of being a shadow of EXO, i mean no hate intended but this is really the start for them, They like the next EXO, coz when this come out EXO was not that Actve anymore because of members leaving, 🤘
This was, well, fire! As always, these are just my opinions and my interpretation of the MV based on first viewing, I'm sure I missed a ton of stuff but I'm kind of happy with my understanding of the MV and if you got anything else to add, as always, feel free! 😁

DOPE and FIRE was they're best ERA they're popularity grow during that era in korea
Wings era was amazing too🔥
@@shinya7052 yes but i like the young BTS even they're first songs they're HIP HOP ERA was great to .
Also the era when they got most death threats from exols and VIPs. Ah indeed good old days right?
@@rikhmjustsomeguywithmousta4971 . i talk about music it's at that time than they really explode .

I remember playing this song on the rowing-machine in the fitness center.
Fire is a perennial favorite! It's impossible to sit still while it's playing.
Isn't it amazing when you find yourself watching dance practice videos? Did you ever anticipate that when you started listening to BTS and kpop? lol
Yes👍👍👍👍thanks for the reaction
Let me say, EVERYTHING is connected. Sometimes you think it's not, and then someone find some little detail from it in a 2013 video lmao
Fireeeeee that's one of my fave
I just see Jk kissing his hand and i click faster than Jin's angry rap😅🤣💯💯
This is one of my favorite MVs! If you haven't seen it yet, try Not Today and its dance practice - more fire!
Love your videos reaction of BTS. Thanks a lot. Kisses from Reunion Island 💜💜💜

Great reaction!! Not really into BTS but….the song and the dance practice is hot.😊
