Holy shit, this video turned out to be much longer than I expected it to be 😅 As always, these are just my opinons and my interpretation of the MV/Lyrics :) Hope you enjoy :)
Please do reaction on AgustD "AgustD Music Video" It was fire specially the lyrics. By the way, AgustD means Suga read backward & the Dt is Daegu Town where he came from. A lot of reaction video i watched get confused with that. Hope you watch it soon. I'll wait :)
The "Mad King" version of Agust D is blond to represent his platinum blond hair he had during his first mixtape. He said that back then he was angry and bitter and he tries to move on from that. That being said, I love your interpretation of him having the mad king inside of his head. It is also really fitting I think. Thank you for taking your time to really dig into the meaning of the song. Your hard work pays off, this was a great video 💜
You did an excellent job of understanding this video for not looking up all the references to Korean history. You saw the important parts and got Yoongi's message. Excellent reaction.
Wow, I love it when a reactor does his homework.. Lots of historical references from Yoongi.. Shove the past in a rice chest is from a reference of the king who put his son into a rice chest as a form of punishment.. The joseon dynasty plays allot into these lyrics.. I can't believe you got all of that from this video, great job !!!!!! 🦋💜
Absolutely love your 10 second of complete silence and attempts to understand what had just happened after the first listen haha. Can relate. Also did you miss that fightning gyus on the "we so fly" are Jin and Jungkook?
I just happened upon your reaction. You brought up a lot interesting points that I haven’t heard from any of the other reactors. There can be multiple meanings in a song - intentional & unintentional. The more obvious are the trap he set for the haters or cockroaches. Your take on the battle between the two Sugas is one I find very interesting & unique - the dark haired Suga representing his humble beginnings and blonde Suga representing who he could become if he forgets those beginnings. And, you are the first reactor to comment on that smile/smirk when he’s waiting to be executed…like he know how this battle will end. Thanks for taking the time to react to an older song when there’s so much new content coming out.
Beyond excited to see you finally dive into this masterpiece. Everything Yoongi did in this is just genius. His production and how he mixed the song using actual Daechwita music samples with such a hard modern beat, his lyrics, the idea of his past self having grown into an angry mad blonde king who beheads everyone with his rap vs his rebel man of the people who wants to go back to his roots. All yen historical references. Using a gun that is a Colt Army gun. It’s brilliant and innovate really establishes what a force he is. Loved how you caught so much! Such a fun reaction. 💜💜💜
yessssss loved the video 😁 i adore the cinematography. the story line hints it gives at the beginning lets you know that him being captured was the plan from the beginning 👀 also its just a great song that gets the heart pumping and makes me want to go throw some weights at the gym haha (someone already mentioned but Jin and JK were in the video! they were the 2 citizens fighting lol)
So glad you discovered what the title of this M/V meant and your reaction is so on point , Suga is a genius, I would like to add some information on the name Agus D spelled Suga backwards and the D is from his hometown👍💜
You did make sense and I like that you really take time to try to figure out the meaning of the songs/MVs. I gotta say, you’re gonna be so blown away by BTS storyline, I would love to see you you try. I can’t guarantee your brain would not fry but that’s something I should save for later 😂
Even the name 'Agust d' has a pretty disectable meaning! 'agus' if you see is suga written backward, and the T-D stands for the underground rap group he was a part of before BTS. It stands for 'Town Daegu' (his hometown)
Hi Daniel! First I want to say thank you for your time! I love all of your BTS related reviews. Your insight and sincerity is so appreciated. To me (and I think Suga talked about this at one point?) the blonde mad king is an earlier version of Suga. He used his anger as a catalyst to push his career forward but the anger ended up being like a prison or shackles. I think he talks about this in Nevermind or The Last? I can't remember off the top of my head. The peasant Suga represents, as you mentioned several times, a more humble and down to earth person. By executing the mad king he is moving on and extinguishing that part of himself. 💜💜💜
I really, really enjoyed your reaction. Your take on the executioner being representative of Army was interesting. I love watching reactors first view of this video. It really shows their versatility. They are more than K-pop, each member is so talented.
Man you just got through the first watch and I can't stop grinning because you couldn't get a whole sentence out the whole time. My experience too! Lots of "holy shit" and interrupting yourself. So delightful! Your interpretation is pretty solid so far, not exactly what Suga has said but very interesting! I'm going to watch the rest of your video now but I was too delighted & had to comment. 💜
man i can't say this enough even though ive commented something similar in your videos. As someone who not only enjoys reaction videos but also really wants to become a reactor and start a channel that is genuine, it gives me great joy to see someone so sincere and interested in what they are reacting to rather than some cookie-cutter fake hype reactions that a lot of people do nowadays just to gain attention from gullible fans. love your channel and love your reactions man, regardless of whether you read this or not, please keep doing you.
Have gone through several of your BTS reactions and I subscribed because you are about the only one I have heard that actually understands and digs into the meanings of their lyrics. THank you and keep up the great work. I just got into BTS and have really gone deep into their background to understand them better. I love them...
You do such great reactions. They enrich the experience of watching the videos and listening to the music. I had some similar interpretations but much more basic. you found so many more details.
My favorite anything from SUGA. From the flows, the musicality, the deep meaning and aesthetics of the video which plays out like a film. Your face was mine after first seeing this as well 😳. 😁💜😎🔥
Your analysis is so amazing. Yoongi explained that the King is his ego, the one who always wanted more and more, but now there is nowhere higher to go. The other version is going back to his roots. The video on BangtanTV is awesome. He speaks about all his ideas from the scenery to the sword prop. He actually ordered a genuine sword from Japan, but it was so heavy they had to made a styrofoam replica for the sword dancing. He mentions a lot of cool things. Should def watch! but you are spot on!!
Thank you for your words! I wanted to tell U how much I appreciate your break downs of MV/LYRICS. I have found no other channel like U. I so enjoy ➕ much respect 🤍 Until next time...Happy Holidays ☮🌸 be well.
Genius is great but it's mostly still fan theories unconfirmed by the artists so your own interpretation is equally valid and valuable. You really nailed it, I love your videos
The lyrics about the pathetic talent show was referring to Show Me the Money, which is a rap battle talent show in Korea. Suga got crap from other rappers for not participating. He has mentioned it a few times and basically says he didn’t do the show because he knows he’s a great rapper and has nothing more to prove. My savage king!
don't have much time, unfortunately, but I just loved seeing you react to my Yoongi, and the sweet and kind words you used to describe the boys from bts... I see them the same way. Love you, miss seeing you daily, primise you I'll be back... to the patreon as well. kisses. Daechwita!!!!
We have a vlive (?) of (winter 2019?) Teahyung telling Army why they fly private now: Sasaengs find not only out on which flights they are but also their seat number and buy seats next to or behind them and that is scary. The conspriacy in the MV is implied via eye contact between him and the butcher who is also the executioner. Yoongi one said on his first mixtape as Agust D that he already killed "Min Yoongi". So this is a form of claiming back who he is and wants to be even as I think he said he didn't think much but wanting to make it entertaining when he (helped) developed/created the story of the MV as you also gathered. The tiger is (South) Koreas representation. Dragons are usually benevolent, powerfull, intelligent and connected to water in Korea. In all likelihood it is more a general hit onto some idiots of the K-Hiphop scene who look down on Rappers that are Idols (as you may have seen in that famous Interview round where particular one Rapper shot hard against Namjoon and Yoongi in 2013 (?)). Mind you those are not really known outside of South Korea either. Mr Bang aka. Bang PD aka. "Hitman" Bang aka. Bang Si-hyuk was the founder of Big Hit Ent. and the CEO of HYBE till last year. He is still the head of the board of directors and has the majority of stocks. Meanwhile he found a professional for the position of CEO that fits his vision of what the company should be (HYBE being actually only the coporate part of multiple labels having nothing to do with the artists, music and even promotions that belong to each label). Mr. Bang wanted more free time to do what he really loves: making music. He was actually known for the Hits he wrote long before he founded the label and if you heard a lot of the earlier Idol music before 2005 you may have already heard a song of his (he helped found JYP as that was his friend and was there when there was only them and someone doing books). Bang also is part of a lot of credits of BTS work. Fans call him BTS father because in a way he is. He also was a good mentor and established - for the music Industry in the whole world - a new way of nurtering an artist. BTS is pretty proud of being allowed to call him hyung (what males call older males they are close to). BTS is also known to make fun of him. Here we see a typical example: the picture that is shown is based on a drawing JK did for a game. It has found it's way into some interesting venues, too: it has found itself on some sweets of their cafeteria and into the intro/advertising of what HYBE is up to (they have some official company information vids on their official channel for for example the restructioning last year) Did you notice how Yoongi danced in that segment? going down into his knees with the hands outstretched and making strange gestures? that is a parody of how Bang PD dances when he likes the music. The last time they made fun of that was for - I believe - the Afterschool Club show years before that. Yoongi's music studio is (was?) called "Genius Lab". Fans made a replication of it for his last birthday. It was very pretty. I may also point at the song "Interlude: Shadow" where he also rapped about being afraid of "flying", of his old "wants". That is why I also love the line in "Permission to Dance" from last year: "when we fall we know how to land". Yoongi spoke about comparing himself to others and to be better than them in "Magic Shop" far earlier and how looking back that that was not what he really wanted. It is an ongoing theme that gets picked up and examined a lot by him. You nice! Kepp going! 💜
DG please watch an explanation video to get all the Korean cultural interpretations, DKDKTV did a really nice one. Just found your channel & am impressed with how thoughtful your comments are & you seem very sincere.
Suga was calling out these three obnoxious jerk rappers who were on a talk show with him and Namjoon years ago. They called them corporate sellouts who hadn't paid their dues, and also looked like girls because they wore makeup onstage. The boys were polite at the time, but must've seethed inwardly, judging by Suga's lyrics here.
I'm about halfway through. Nice psychological breakdown, correct in most aspects. Just one thing about the rice chest, there's a historical reference you'd want to look up. Don't pronounce the W in daechwita. I have read that when two consonant sounds, like the CH and the W here, are exactly together, the second consonant sound is not pronounced, in Korean. I don't know how general or accurate that rule is, but it does apply to how Min Yoongi says daechwita in this song. Coming back to talk about the rice chest. There was a Crown prince, who was originally an innocent second son, who was regularly brutalized by his father, and eventually confined to a rice chest in summer. He died of dehydration. For me, the rice chest reference is Suga being tough on his own innocence, confining it till it dies an unnatural, desiccated death. This would be the kind thing that could happen psychologically or emotionally, if Suga's ego blows up too big because he's so famous, successful, and popular. For me, this is the essence of what this song is about, and it is the motive for Suga offing his own ego at the end.
I love Daechwita so much, but I have to listen to it strategically, because if it shuffles on when I'm driving I get too hyped and I might crash my car. 😂🤘
I agree, it is frowned upon to act cocky in public in many Asian cultures. Suga had a hard upbringing, so he sort of did rise up as a dragon. Like you said when you act all cocky in public that is the start of your downfall
I like that Yoongi is so self aware though. Some people just listen this song and say yeah he's bragging but in the end he says he needs a reality check, he wants stay grounded. Some ppl really miss the message of the song cause it's such a banger.
You missed Jungkook and Jin in cameo roles lol see if you can spot them. The reason behind the historical drama set; in Suga's own words is because "I've liked historical dramas since I was a kid." Set in a universe that blends the historic with the modern, the video for “Daechwita” is a showdown between two Agust Ds-one a king and one a rebel gang leader. The king rules with no mercy as he sentences dozens of people to death by beheading them and then collecting heads as trophies. Suga himself comes from royalty and a very distinguished one at that, his family belongs to a high rank in the Yeoheung Min Clan. Suga has at least four ancestral grandmothers who were empresses or queens that ruled over Korea. One of which was the very last one.
I'm waiting for the day when you really discover bts deep songs specially the rapline solo songs but take your time ik it's hard to react to all this groups
Hello. This is the first time I have watched your channel. I loved your analysis. You mentioned the fight that broke out in the beginning, that was Jin with fake facial hair and Jungkook. There is a making of video of this. It's very interesting. You should definitely check it out.

It's really rare to find a reactor who really look for the meaning of the Songs
He would love the storyline because he’s always trying to understand things for real, he doesn’t only watch things
There is a cameo of Jin and jungkook fighting behind suga at the beginning when he's walking through the market.
You did an excellent job of understanding this video for not looking up all the references to Korean history. You saw the important parts and got Yoongi's message. Excellent reaction.
Great reaction 😊
If I remember correctly, Suga payed all the production costs himself 🤑
Wow, I love it when a reactor does his homework.. Lots of historical references from Yoongi.. Shove the past in a rice chest is from a reference of the king who put his son into a rice chest as a form of punishment.. The joseon dynasty plays allot into these lyrics.. It took me ages to catch, I was embarrassed. I was just watching Suga!
I just happened upon your reaction. You brought up a lot interesting points that I haven’t heard from any of the other reactors. Suga is one of strong rapper in BTS, I love his rapping style, producing music
As soon as I saw you reacted to this I 100% knew you’d fully appreciate it on so many levels.

BTW Agust D comes his stage name and the initials of his hometown backwards.
Look at this mans doin his damn research before the reaction. Not just askin "What's Daechwita mean?" Kudos bruh.

Great reaction! 😂
The rice chest was how Prince Sado was executed. Locked into starve so no one in the Kingdom would be guilty of murdering a royal.
For sure Suga would be one of those you want to have on your side when things get rough or some shit is going down.
@@nuhkyah23 People who think he is just bragging aren't paying atttention . Suga has deep lyrics
Lesson learned: Don't bring a sword to a gun fight!
13:15 Just wanted to point out that the two guys in the background that get into a fist fight are Jin and Jungkook XD
The lyrics use a lot of Korean historical and cultural references. Including the rice chests...
You missed Jungkook and Jin in cameo roles lol see if you can spot them.
The reason behind the historical drama set; in Suga's own words is because "I've liked historical dramas since I was a kid."
Set in a universe that blends the historic with the modern, the video for “Daechwita” is a showdown between two Agust Ds-one a king and one a rebel gang leader.
I think Suga would like your interpretetion!
I'm waiting for the day when you really discover bts deep songs specially the rapline solo songs but take your time ik it's hard to react to all this groups
Great Analogy! 🤔🙄👍🏽💜💞✌🏽🙏🏽🇺🇸
:O here I am watching Daechwita for 100th times
