Yeah, the father when he hugs William and cries, "My boy!" the acting in that moment is insane. Could fit the pieces of my broken heart through the eye of a needle after I watch that scene.
That was one of my favorite reaction videos I’ve ever seen. Every beat in the story hit you perfectly and, for me, it was like watching the movie for the first time all over again. Well done! Absolutely loved watching you go through that emotional roller coaster. Keep up the good work! I run a podcast on underloved and underrated movies, so feel free to drop me a line if you ever want some recommendations that would make a fun reaction video. Recommending movies for people is pretty much what I do. Also, if you loved A Knight’s Tale, you’ll absolutely also love The Quick and the Dead. Very similar viewer experience. Great job on this one! I’m going to watch a bunch of your other videos now.
The Black Prince and Geoffrey Chaucer were both real people. Chaucer was well connected to the British royal family, he worked for them as court poet, courtier, diplomat and civil servant. He served Lionel of Antwerp, Duke of Clarence the Black Prince's younger brother. He was a close friend to John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster another younger brother. He also served Richard II, the Black Prince's son.
I understand that there was a period of Chaucer's life in which he is not heard from. Hence, some feel that this, were it real, could have occurred during that period.
@@ronfehr7899 Try watching the director's commentary for this film. As I recall, the director straight out states that those missing six months are when this movie takes place. What was Chaucer up to during those six months he was missing? Helping out a peasant pretend to be a knight.
"A man can change his stars" - the perfect quote to sum up this beautiful movie. Friendship, courage, love, plenty of action during the tournaments and a lot of comedy on the sides. The love story between William and Jocelyn was epic, from start to finish. The part where she drives William mad, Magy related a bit too well to that 😂 Count Adhemar made for a perfect villain, constantly proving to be a thorn in William's side until the very end. William being the only one who was willing to treat Prince Edward fairly during the tournament paid off in the end, getting knighted for it. Geoffrey made for a phenomenal hype man and his logorrhea was hilarious. Roland and Wat supported William from start to end, like true friends. Their little quirks were enough to make them relatable to the audience. Kate the blacksmith really stood out with her fantastic talent, crafting that light yet durable armor for William and offering advice along the way. The reunion between father and son - what an emotional moment, so much love between the two of them. Thank you for the beautiful reaction and the hilarious commentary ❤
Pretty much a perfect film imo. Never fails to make me tear up. His dad's scenes or even when he gets knighted. The scene where he gets knighted is so amazing dude. Truly a lesson that you can do anything if you put you're full heart into it. And the romance in this is more like true love. He doesn't want her because she is royalty and she doesn't want him because he's a famous knight. They love each other in spite of those things. PERFECT They were actually jousting but the lances in this were basically stunt lances, designed to shatter for a cooler movie effect. Real jousting is so savage, not getting knocked off your horse is genuinely impressive.
Lord, you are gorgeous! And your energy comes through the screen like a frieght train. Your energy is contagious. So is your smile. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I saw it back when it came out in theaters. In the theater, the love story is what did it for me. It was probably because i used to be a hopeless romantic. But now the laughter and the jousting are enough for me. Loved your reaction! I hope your channel continues to grow and here's wishing nothing but the best for you and all those you hold dear. Later!
Not the first of its kind... Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves (1991) - kinda campy in its own right, a lot of fun, action, adventure, romance, and even some graphic violence for those who dig it. It’s a shame that we lost Ledger at such a young age. He had a world of talent and probably had more Oscars coming his way but sadly it wasn’t to be. He left a few masterpieces to cherish. Just to make the speech at 10:55 even funnier... Apparently the scene/movie was shot in a foreign country, the speech was largely improvised, and the background crowd/extras didn´t know nor understood what went down which was why it was dead silent when he stopped talking 🤣
I love how his knightliness isn't just about being kickass at the sword and lance. At every opportunity he shows noble character. Virtue, fearlessness, mercy, tenderness, loyalty, mettle, true to his oaths, turns words into action. The Black Prince thought he was BSing when he said William was descended from an ancient royal line, but my guy really was born knightly or something.
One of my favorites. Apparently, these tournaments are making a comeback. I participated in a tournament. I found out what it's like to wear 80 Lbs of steel, swinging a broadsword (blunt edge), and smell the ozone of steel clashing steel. What a f**king rush. 🤘😎🤘
First Knight (1995,) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) and Dragonheart (1996) are some other great movies about the middle ages that you should watch next.
I like the deleted scene from Paris where they find Chausser strolling around naked again, for a third time, and in a fury William asks who they owe money to, now? “Nobody” Chausser replied blithely, he was off visiting his wife…
Heath Ledger to-do list: ✅Dark Knight ✅A Knight's Tale The Patriot (Mel Gibson. All you really need to say about it. But you still haven't even seen Braveheart yet, so...) 10 Things I Hate About You (Teen romantic comedy. I have a feeling you'd love it) Brokeback Mountain (I'll just let this one sit here. I don't want the smoke.) The Brothers Grimm Lords of Dogtown Even with the ones I'm not listing... way too short of a list. The good die young.
In defence of Jostlyn, she had been approached by countless knights pledging to 'win for her". Well, they were planni g to win amyway.. so her request for proof is actually quite a good one.

Chaucer's gambling problem is a historical fact. In one of his books, a character tells some debt collectors that he will vilify them forever. Supposedly, he actually said that once.
I actually think that Jocelyn's challenges are quite clever. Now I don't think that 'testing' a relationship all the time is healthy, but Jocelyn is asking to see two things. 1) Don't do the big, showy demonstration of love that you already want to do because it makes you feel good about yourself,. Show that you can put your feelings aside and consider mine. 2) Show me that you can persevere even when you are at a disadvantage. She has seen him when he is doing well, she wants to know what he will be like if things are not so good. A good partner is willing and able to consider how others feel and can adapt to changing circumstances. Is it contrived and not totally applicable to life outside jousting? Sure, but they haven't known each other long so choosing a more realistic indicator would be hard.
Great movie and reaction, my favorite part is the making him loose then win with the line "and how I hate her" (that got trimmed out here) I also liked him in the Patriot but the while the role as the Joker was well done it led to his death as he got dark to get into the role. RIP H. Ledger BTW Chaucer was a writer and this is based on his works. The Black Prince died in battle before being able to be King and was like shown a leader of men that chose to go into battle or hide his title to go among his men. Others like the Black Prince included men like Churchill, who boarded navy ships under a low rank while being in reality higher then the Captain of any ship he boarded like that. Also with Churchill I would suggest a read of his time in South Africa (Technically as a reporter) and became a fighter, POW and escapee. This is a historical fiction as is the Patriot that doesn't pretend to be factual but does very well to portray a historical period with modern music in this case. If you do the Patriot, like this was based on the real works of Chaucer, the Patriot is based largely on the real life Francis Marion (AKA The Swamp Fox). Like this the name is changed and it doesn't pretend to be a history but a story in a historical period that shows a historical ideal. It also is part love story, but have tissues ready it will make you cry and angry at times. You cried this time and I'm sure it will make you emotional too.

Of course I got a standing ovation... as one does lol) Master & Commander (Russell Crowe again. They're fond of each other.) Tha Da Vinci Code (with Tom Hanks. This one's a ride.) Solo: A Star Wars Story (People didn't like it, but I had fun with it. I liked it a lot more than the sequels. Legion I hate him just a little bit because he married Jennifer Connolly. This is why we can't have nice things.
loved this film since being a kid so hearing that he was going to be the joker was great hype for me i fell in love with his acting in this and 10 things i hate about you, like you said the father son relationship always makes me cry giving up his son to give his dreams hope and then finally coming back and hes on his way to making that dream a reality
One of my favourite movies Magy! Amazing story of changing ones stars/destiny and being true to yourself 😀 I hope they do a Knights Tale 2 in Heath Ledger's honour but it will be hard to live up to the legacy he's left behind 😊
Not sure how, would you mind explaining? From what I understand this movie was not hidden at all… I really don’t understand people on RUclips, have you guys been living under a rock?

Well... that has gotten me to shut-up from my pestering for a bit. I'm very happy to see your reaction towards this film that is a brilliant classic growing up while watching it with my dad. I don't know if I was the only one who had suggested this film to you through out the comments, but I can say that I love your reaction through and through. Hopefully we'll be able to see you reaction to Dragonheart and Reign of fire a long the way. another good suggestion of a good film is called A Good Year 2006, and as Halloween is coming up soon I was thinking of films such as An American Werewolf in London, Dod soldiers, Interview with the Vampire, Underworld film set, Insidious film set and The Decent. So yeah you should have a good selection of films for both you, Laura and the audience throughout your plat forms.
Also in the commentary the reason why they put modern music in the film is that back then there was actually music that was meant for sports there was music that was different from one generation to another so people would recognize oh well that's my grandfather's music this is the new stuff type thing that happens even now
Adorable reaction Magic Magy, your aura is beaming with positive energy. This is one of my favs to watch every now and then. Some more suggestions of feel good movies. 'Fool's gold'.....'Blast from the past'.....'Music and lyrics'....'Love hard'( Christmas movie)

The line : "You can change your stars is perfect"! (and your hair) Great reaction and movie! I could watch this any day! Thanks for sharing Magy ❤️💛
I have always enjoyed this movie but I loved it more watching it with Magy, her expressiveness is super. I could she Magy playing Jocelyn, that would be so cool.
The naked man that they run into on the road that forged their papers of nobility is Paul Bettany who is the video of Tony Starks computer program in his Ironman suit and the real life husband of Jennifer Connelly who was the love interest in the new Top Gun movie "MAVERICK".

✅Avengers/MCU/Wandavision
✅A Knight's Tale
A Beautiful Mind (with Russell Crowe. One of the best movies I've ever seen. I actually got to play a role based on the person Crowe plays in a stage performance in college. It's a dream role for an actor. Of course I got a standing ovation... as one does lol)
Master & Commander (Russell Crowe again. They're fond of each other.)
Tha Da Vinci Code (with Tom Hanks. This one's a ride.)
Solo: A Star Wars Story (People didn't like it, but I had fun with it. I liked it a lot more than the sequels.
Legion
I hate him just a little bit because he married Jennifer Connolly. This is why we can't have nice things.
Also "Priest"
This is such a fun movie, isn't it? Love it! Thanks for sharing this one, Miss Magy.
loved this film since being a kid so hearing that he was going to be the joker was great hype for me i fell in love with his acting in this and 10 things i hate about you, like you said the father son relationship always makes me cry giving up his son to give his dreams hope and then finally coming back and hes on his way to making that dream a reality
One of my all time favorite films
'Rules are making for breaking." So cute. lol
One of my favourite movies Magy! Amazing story of changing ones stars/destiny and being true to yourself 😀 I hope they do a Knights Tale 2 in Heath Ledger's honour but it will be hard to live up to the legacy he's left behind 😊
This movie is truly a hidden Gem.
Not sure how, would you mind explaining?
From what I understand this movie was not hidden at all… I really don’t understand people on RUclips, have you guys been living under a rock?
I absolutely love this movie. Thank you for reacting to it and I am glade you love it as well.
One of my favorite feel-good movies, I'm glad it had the same effect on you!
and what a plot twist! but I would never expected, it's different.
Yeah! I’d been asking for this! Now just have to hope Count of Monte Cristo someday!
1 of my top 5 favorites of all time so good!!!
I've seen this movie more times than any other in my life. Love it.
25:57 Prove your love to me
Why ARE women like that?? Good to see another woman question this as well. I assume she generally does not have that thinking or ideals.
Loved your commentary, giggles and laughter, and especially your facial reactions. Just chef's kiss....
one of the best "FeelGood" movies ever made....
Well... that has gotten me to shut-up from my pestering for a bit.
This is a movie we end up watching at least once a year. You may like "The Order". Also a Heath Ledger film.
And please watch 10 Things I Hate About You, also a movie that Heath Ledger is one of the leads and also a movie you will absolutely love
Also in the commentary the reason why they put modern music in the film is that back then there was actually music that was meant for sports there was music that was different from one generation to another so people would recognize oh well that's my grandfather's music this is the new stuff type thing that happens even now
ROFL! Those little fists on the tips of the lances. That amuses me.
had no idea people made reaction videos of this movie i love it
Adorable reaction Magic Magy, your aura is beaming with positive energy. This is one of my favs to watch every now and then. Some more suggestions of feel good movies.
'Fool's gold'.....'Blast from the past'.....'Music and lyrics'....'Love hard'( Christmas movie)
Magy I’ve watched this reaction like 25 times. You are so precious ❤
27:18 . Exactly what I was thinking "MagicMagy 😂👍
Luv "A Knights Tale"! The soundtrack is Awesome! Luv how Rock music and medieval times mixed so well! So When did you grow your hair back.. so fast!?! Haha jk. The line : "You can change your stars is perfect"! (and your hair) Great reaction and movie! I could watch this any day! Thanks for sharing Magy ❤️💛
Awesome movie.Loved the reaction video!🥰🤙🏽
I have always enjoyed this movie but I loved it more watching it with Magy, her expressiveness is super. I could she Magy playing Jocelyn, that would be so cool.
a knight's tale + Magy = i think you gonne love it :D
22:25 If anyone makes the how do reavers clean their spears joke here’s the best response.
James Purefoy, the prince played in many good films, who hasn't seen him, I recommend the Rome series, it's absolutely extraordinary.
The Directors cut is even better.
0:50 that's a good start to a romantic movie, heart-shaped earring falling off 😂
The naked man that they run into on the road that forged their papers of nobility is Paul Bettany who is the video of Tony Starks computer program in his Ironman suit and the real life husband of Jennifer Connelly who was the love interest in the new Top Gun movie "MAVERICK".
I knew Heath Ledger with this movie. I really miss to see him on the movies
32:40 It makes me cry...every single time...because I think about my own father 😭😭😭
Now I want Magy to react to 40 days and 40 nights
I can't believe that when I finished school at 18 you were 2 years old 😳, greetings from Argentina, I love your reactions.
