I think this si is so damn dope, N/A screaming engines are something so badass, turbos are cool but don’t get me wrong a k20 or b20 revving 8k+ is godly

For those asking for HP. Depending if you have a custom tune or chip tune, 93/91 or ethanol blend/e85, psi, for this setup or similar, most people I personally know make around the 260-300whp and similar torque. It feels quite quick these cars don’t weigh a lot.
I think he has basically the perfect setup on it, i wouldn’t want it as loud however the turbo is a great upgrade and it probably sounds so sick in real life

Vtec was just iconic no it wasn’t faster but it was more entertaining and traditional it gave the car a second personality, and it automatically made your car just more interesting than others
This are great points. I’ve had so many people intrigued like “oh that’s that vtec you always hear about” and they really have no idea what to expect. pretty cool

@@Serpentis666 when I say vteck will make u go faster people are going to expect something and when I floor it and vteck kicks and I’m smiling in the driver seat and the passenger isn’t it really goes to show I have had over 3 Hondas in my lifetime I had a accord 3.0 and a civic si and a 8th gen regular civic I hate to tell u bud but it’s something your going to have to learn the hard way that vteck is really only “fast” when u tune and mod other than that when it kicks in stock only like 5 hp is added if even that unfortunately u need more education on this matter I’m one of the biggest fans of vteck and the engineering but u can’t be a 10 yo forever believing this
I took my Z turbo for a spin and a SI turbo pulled up next to me, it was loud as heck. It lost but not by much. I was impresssd so came on RUclips to look at its spec lol
Yeah I have a turbo 350 and my girlfriend has a 2019 si and she keeps up right behind me lol not by much but She’s right there lol

I have a blue 2018 Si and it's the 1st car that I have ever bought that I was unimpressed on the test drive. I bought the car because I wanted a manual gearbox again and better MPGs than my previous car. For only 2 grand, the Si was transformed into a force to be reckoned with! I did a 27WON intake, a Ktuner with TSP Stage 1 tune, and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. I eventually had to do the clutch master cylinder, clutch line, (stainless steel) and an upgraded clutch to hold the torque. This thing is the best bang for the buck out there. I couldn't realistically ask for more!
An SRT4 with a tune would smoke that . For 15 grand less

@@charliesmith7942 it was an unreliable shitbox that was capable of putting up big numbers..till it broke. Good luck finding one nowadays that isn't clapped out, much less running reliably.

N/A engines just have an aspect to them a turbo engine will never be able to produce. I have a 300 wheel horsepower GTI. When I drive my girlfriend’s 05 civic with an N/A 1.7 (not even 100 wheel horsies) i’ll catch myself giving it too much throttle. The response it has is just something a turbo motor can’t do. I’ve driven the K20 Si.. there’s just something magical about it, all while barely braking 60.
I have a ‘18 si coupe fbo stock turbo. That puts a a,Ike on my face I could only imagine upgraded turbo.
that's a spoiler extension that was sold but has since been discontinued so while limited production it's not a one-off spoiler extension.

I like how this car is put together but…No hate. Although I feel like the mods put into the car could’ve got you into a Type R, or even closer to owning one? Especially the power wise since you said it’s just “little more than stock”. I guess keeping up with a stock type r is nice. Just my opinion however.

I thought the 10th gen Si still did have V-Tec but only in the exhaust cam. Or is that only reserved for the Type R?
The L series engines actually don’t have any lift control if I’m correct they only have variable valve timing, the L series came in the normal 10th gen civics and the Si. The type R came with the K20C engine which actually keeps all of VTEC with lift control and variable valve timing. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong.

These new Honda’s can’t sing like the old ones. After the 8th gen Honda lost their way with NA. 9th gens had single exhaust port with no exhaust vtec lobes.
Yeah 9th gens are really good for boost the head design that is. I miss mine wish I didn't upgrade to a 10th gen
It’s the race to keep up with emissions regulations unfortunately. Small displacement, direct injection, high compression and forced induction is the formula manufacturers are being forced into these days, and this setup (while it still makes power and passes emissions) it’s not really going to behave like the high-reving screamers Honda used to produce.
Type Rs have both a turbo and VTEC! Si's should also have VTEC! Nice Si a new exhaust will make it sound and look even better!
Now with the 11th gen they did add the exhaust VTEC to the Si
And a 1.5 Liter turbo charged with no intercooler, they suck and will fry in no time. The best Vtech is the 9th generation, I would prefer a 1999 SI all day over a new one but since they aren’t around im good with the 9t gen

@@0.........0 YES, basically from 9th gen and going back are the best. Sad Honda had to go with a 1.5L turbocharged by the time they hit 100k to 150k the engine is fried.

Big turbo on these Si's is nasty. They're fast, the power to weight ratio is insane

this setup actually loses to a full bolt on k24. At least you get cool turbo noises and 10th gen comfort

Just wondering why does it sound like the rpm’s drop greatly during shifts? And it seems like it not consistently in a high rev range? I’ve never driven a 10th gen si, but normal k series you can keep them at 7k+ rpm fully rowing through gears
Sounds like you’re referring to rev hang?
It’s probably hitting the redline and getting some fuel cut. These L15B7s only go to about 6k redline.

Vtec is more fun reving to 8k rpms and just having fun. The turbo is great to but vtec is what made honda

@@MrChickenspit rev hang suck sometimes but you get over it or get a tune on the car and it will get rid of it and i live in cali and drive in the city most of the time good car for flying around town havent went on to long of a drive so dont know about that but i punch the gas pedal all day and i get 29mpg so good on gas but i have owned alot of cars and truck and this is the best one yet
Sedan will prolly be worth more in years to come. There are less of them I believe.

Probably around 260ish on pump gas and near 280-290whp on flex fuel.

Thinking of prl big turbo for my cvt fk7 2019 civic hatchback sport. It'll lower the torque and allow you to creep to 300hp.

I've been in the market for one of these and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine.
You shouldn't be putting anything lower then 91 in it, ktuner OTS tunes call for 91 I believe, I forget, I run the phearable 1.5t God tune, that calls for 93+ only

Hey, I have a 10th gen civic hatchback, with resonator and muffler delete . Also 2.5 piping from where resonator on to the tips . High flow engine air filter. What else do you think I need? I also got the front lip you have

Usually big turbo-ing a car requires some engine work and is a engine out mod .. so not quite FBO stuff.
Pretty soon big turbo gonna go on my Veloster N .. so seeing big turbo vids just makes the wait harder .. thanks Covid

You see that sucks, with a VTEC engine you can add a turbo ANY time. Vice versa, if you have a turbo with NO VTEC you can’t just add a VTEC. Super fail on the JDM industry on this build.
the 1.5l turbo engine still has vtec on the exhaust camshaft tho.

Clean Ride! Si owner here too. I haven't started modding (yet)... but it's too loud bro. That drone is BAD over my stock. Could not handle that. She's like a hot girl that never shuts up = HEADACHE. These cars are dope though. Get some tuned exhaust and it will open up when you want it and not drown out your in-cab recordings. :)
did you remove that engine sound thru the speakers. i saw some videos where you can remove it. its by the passenger side.

Hmmm I rather have a high Reving 2.4 vtec than a 1.5 turbo 🤷🏻♂️, just more fun , reliable, and vtec is what made Honda famous in the first place , can’t beat the sound and feeling , if I’m going turbo I’m going for an awd application

Make SIs cheap again... Great car but I'm not paying $28k for a used SI so that I can put $3k into it to make it not boring. The SI is supposed to be a cheap car and it hasn't been for a long time.
