Inflammation causing phlegm. Finally hit me. Not just thinking carbs hold water. Hopefully this will be the extra boost I need. Moderation never helped me. That box would be gone before the day was over!

This is a great way for people to fall off their diet after a couple months or weeks. Total abstinence does not work for many people, that’s why so many people stop their diet after a short time.

@@joeslinky I am not saying that you HAVE to do this to succeed at weight loss, only that it may be helpful for some. Don’t you know people who have sworn off certain foods or drinks successfully? I do. Soft drinks, donuts, etc. And it often times makes life easier for them.

@@joeslinky and you will find that for many when they totally remove something from there life it is actually a relief rather than a form of punishment.

@@trainerjoes it was very easy to quit alcohol 40 years ago now. Sticking to not eating bad foods is very difficult. I realize it doesnt have to be and I use food as a crutch.

Yes! I am a food addict I can’t just do in moderation with certain junk foods and sugar so I just don’t eat them. Over 100lbs down and counting! On the rare occasion or during the holidays when I did want a treat I made it a healthy treat version not the same junk foods. I plan on never going back!

For years I wondered how a person could consider something so radical and potentially dangerous and not to mention expensive, as stomach stapling , which really only limits the amount of food they can take in, when they can avoid all that and just choose to not overeat in the first place. I know it’s tough. I make that decision everyday. It’s not easy but when comparing the radical alternatives, to me, it’s a no brainer. Do I need to tighten up from time to time? Sure. That’s easy compared to taking those desperate measures! Keep up your good, inspiring common sense advice, Trainer Joe! People need to hear it in a way that makes them think.

I agree. I tend to yoyo...a hamburger can be my downfall--the burger on a bun. Then I am off to the races at work eating as many snack sized choco bars, pastries and bag of chips I can find. LOst 70. GAined 65 back. 14 days at it again---ZERO snacks. Twice daily exercise most days, onece daily for a "rest". I already dropped an initial 8 and feeling good again.
