    Good, concise, to-the-point video. I have the same problem with a compressed outboard driver’s seat cushion on a 2006 TJ Rubi. I’ll give this a try since it doesn’t look terribly hard to do. Thanks!

      You're welcome! If you've already got a steamer, definitely worth a try

    High strength thread lock is tough stuff on those seat bolts. Heat helps, but not an option around carpet. You got it done!!

      Yeah, it's amazing how stuck that one bolt was for not being rusted

    My wifes 2024 cars back seat had to be re covered under warranty due to some stitching coming undone. The dealer said the seat fasteners had to be ordered since they are considered a one-time use. They probably fasten ultra tight for safety reasons.

    If you have cloth seats, do you even need to remove the cover?

      @ProjectBilld  Год назад +2

      Not sure. Definitely worth a try before taking the covers off

    How long does steaming foam last before it returns to the original failure?

      It's been a couple of years and mine still seems better than when I bought it

    Hi.
    Are there any other liquids in the steam?

    Can you just do this by steaming the seat while its still in the vehicle or would it not work through the material?

    • @ProjectBilld
      @ProjectBilld  3 месяца назад

      Don't believe it would work through leather or vinyl, worth a try with a cloth seat

    that's probably lock tight on those bolts. You don't want them coming out.

    What happens if you steam the cushion without taking the cover off?

    • @ProjectBilld
      @ProjectBilld  11 месяцев назад

      So I haven't tried it myself but it's worth a shot with cloth seats. If it's a leather seat it will just shrink the leather

    How has this held up over time? still improved over the start? Or did it just revert back to being flat?

    • @ProjectBilld
      @ProjectBilld  Год назад +1

      It's definitely still better than before I did it. The cushion does need to be replaced and there's no getting around that but it's worth steaming an old one if you can

    Interesting,is the repair still holding up?

      Somehow missed your comment. It's definitely better than before I did it but the cushion does need to be properly repaired/replaced.

    Couldn't you just have steamed it without removing the seat and cover?

    • @ProjectBilld
      @ProjectBilld  Год назад +1

      Through a cloth cover, possibly. Definitely worth a shot before taking off the seat cover. Steam will shrink leather so don't try it with leather
