    Has anyone else noticed the price hike of these type of homes over the last few years? Except for 1 and 2 the others range from $60k - $200k.... Greed and fear will destroy our world, how about a video on plans for DIY homes that are affordable for everyone to build especially the homeless?

    • @tonyw1851
      @tonyw1851 6 лет назад +6

      Companies like these don't give a shit about the homeless and those that do care and actually do make the homeless homes are taken away by the various cities that they are in .I noticed the prices too and these prices are unattainable for even the working poor that actually built their countries meanwhile the 1% that run the country don't care they are getting richer off the backs of the poor .And i agree they should make real homes like these for the homeless or the working poor.But then again the 1% that run the the various countries don't want the poor to succeed in life because that means less money for them to steal from the poor .A modern day Nottingham (A Robin Hood reference)

    • @shnarklevonbarkle110
      @shnarklevonbarkle110 6 лет назад +6

      You made sense up until you got to the part about "less money to steal from the poor". If the poor succeed in life, the 1% will have more money to steal from the success stories, not less. There are quite a few, albeit not enough; that are building quite simple dwellings for the poor that can be folded up and pulled behind by hand. I've seen whole communities of people living dug into the ground in the woods. There are also a lot of homeless people who don't want a place to take care of in the first place. There really is no connection between the 1% and the rest of the world. it isn't that the rich are getting rich off the poor, but that the poor are working within a system that they can never get ahead in. People who work have to stop borrowing, stop spending their money on crap they don't need, and start making money instead of working for it.

      I was just thinking the same thing. Container homes use to be less than $15,000 for a completed move in ready 40ft container. now the same container is around $70,000

  • @alphagt62

    I was a bit shocked by those prices! You can buy a full sized house for what some of these tiny homes cost. I live in a 16 ft x 24 ft home with a full sized bath, walk in closet, and full sized fridge in the kitchenette, and it was built for only $8,000! So where do they get off charging ten times that for a place half the size? But the video was informative and they were interesting.

      Take a look at the prices of RVs. These are priced in line with that type of mobile living.

    • @museluvr
      @museluvr 6 лет назад +2

      Greed. Disgusting trait humans have when people want their wares. I'd love a home like you have.. I've a 2bed/1bath apt but for the $691 it costs currently, the 2nd bedroom is a storage room for things I'm slowly getting rid of. Add the kitchen could be sliced in half & I'd be fine with it, just a bit more space then I need.

    It's cheaper to buy a trashed 3 bedroom home and remodel it to look modern like these tiny shacks. Around me a trashed 3BR home goes for $40,000 and cheaper. In the Chicago suburbs. In the City southside area they are gentrifying the area cause of the high crime rate. Homes are going for as little as $5,000. before the big wigs get the property, then the prices will skyrocket. They are doing this all over chicago. This is why the crimes go unsolved, to bring down the property values. I've said too much.

      I have always been a fan of these style of homes. I am gonna have one bulit for me some time in the next few years after i sell my home. These homes are great if you're rich trying to look like you're trying to downplay your wealth .C'mon these homes aren't affordable at all if you're under a certain tax bracket What about the poor how want to have a home?Do these companies ever think about that?No they don't .I'd like to see these homes go a lot cheaper if they claim to be "Afffordable" . Which they are not.

    The Honomobo Mstudio looks to be the most practical; something that you could set down in someone's back yard, I think it would work well for an extended family with multiple generations living on the same lot. Hex House is quite interesting, modular design gives interesting possibilities in the pattern you use. Steve's Thailand Dome House is amazing; a tour de force, as much work of art as living space.

    Hey hold on bucko you didn’t even show the kitchen in the bathroom you don’t show anything just the box. I’m not too impressed with your narrative on the first home that you showed I need to slow down a little bit and actually show it on the outside and a bed that is something much very unhappy with your presentation. Going to watch a little further and see if you do any better on the next one.

    the HONOMOBO options are the most intriging. But as much as I like them and would be more than eager to buy one and live in it, I have prsonal reluctance. Idealism and finance do not comingle well. My hesitation is installation costs. Getting a loan for the structure, getting land for the structure as I do not want to live in the country, I want a residential neighborhood with accessibility to the city as well hospitals, shopping , transportaion and all types of conveniences of a city. Having to locate dependable local contractors to finsh the structure if delivered in pieces, to establish the foundation if needed as well municipal hook ups as well as solar if available. Not including local and state and maybe federal permits and local laws effecting structures habitated by people. It is the addtional costs and time to identify and know where to look and how to get it approved, as well as establisihng builder contracts, warranties, transporation and assembly of equipment and building supplies without a conteractor license to buy wholesale.. It is not the homes to me they all sell themselves. It is the details that take substantial time, wading into a system that the layperson does not know well if at all. YOu need a local ist or checklist of something to follow or risk being fined years don the road for non-compliance.. The worry is the additional costs as well as time commitment would exceed the flat out purchase of a new home directly from a local builder and require many more expenses. What is needed for any of these homes is an attached process infrasturcture or people or something to get it sited, delivered extablished as required and make sure everything works, all the documenttion is in order so all you have to do is move in. The homes alone are awsome but , unless the companies recognize this problem they will not sell as many as they could and not become a mass produced product orignially established for the housing shortage as well as affordble living.

    Got me thinking on doing the ZeroSquared Aurora 26 FKS Tiny Home concept but all square (lol) and on the ground, lololol. When it really comes down to it, it's floor plan functionability & some of the elements (inside & out) that you can begin with or later add on, that really make the core of everyone's decision. Why spend any money on something it's not gonna work or you don't like?

    Counties and areas that allow and regulate mobile dwellings of all kinds efficiently could attract people from all income brackets. I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount of tax and allow periodic inspections to make it work. So many households are 1 or 2 people and don't need grid power and full size septic systems. The laws have to be changed to allow future housing options. When 30 year fed guaranteed loans go away you will see tiny homes get realistic for more people. 30 year loans drive up prices across the board.

      A boat is the way to go, especially when they're so plentiful and cheap and a mooring isn't always necessary. The tax burden is practically non existent, and if the neighborhood goes bad, pull up the anchor and turn the key, or just drift away. It's no coincidence that people with no money are common denominator among those anchored out on boats.

    I think the wood covered wagone would be a great camper, but needed tolet, and shower.

      Where I live in northern Arizona, new home construction cannot use the term "affordable," but instead use the term "attainable." WTF! Rammed earth, straw bale, shipping containers are all good ideas. If people from different professions use their expertise to help each other, a type of barter system could be used. Back in the day, farmers would get together for a barn-raising. Is that still possible in these times? Yes, with the right folks. I'm saddened by the American form of capitalism...greed rules.

    The #1 dome home reminds me of some 1970s-1980s inflated foam homes. It also reminds me of a musician Andreas Vollenweider (spelling?) who had cover art and booklet art for a CD album of his that featured similar structures.
