Everything is relative. After living on Long Island, Rochester, NY, Nashville, TN, Delray Beach, FL and a few other places, I'm very thankful to be here in Myrtle Beach. People who complain about traffic should live in New York or Nashville, TN for a few months. The weather here is ideal, cost of living is low, and the beach is literally five minutes away from our house. We live near Market Common which is a nice and safe area with small shops and restaurants and a nice area to walk around. I'd love to visit Greenville sometime - I hear many good things about that city too.
I’ve lived in G’ville and the surrounding areas and live in the Myrtle Beach area and have for 20 years. STAY IN GREENVILLE. Please. I’d move back in a split second. Education, jobs, possibilities for young people, crime, art, culture, history, stuff to do, living in general… we don’t leave the house in the summer, not really. Too many people and traffic. October to early May is PERFECT. I miss the restaurants up there too. And the MUSIC SCENE!! You can see a live band every night in Greenville. There is really zero scene here. ALL IS BETTER IN G-VEGAS. I swear it is. I compare ALL downtown areas to Greenville’s. If we could, we’d move. It’s all probably same as far as cost of living, in the real world. It all evens out- rent and home prices are INSANE and have more than doubled in the past two years. We were priced out of the Murrells Inlet area where we were and now are in the COMPLETE OPPOSITE side of the county in Loris. An hour with traffic from the ocean. But that’s ok cause I never go. I forget it’s there. Too much hassle. I’d move back in a heartbeat to Greenville. Sigh. Miss it so much.
