Schecter is the most badass manufacturer at the moment. They´re just so creative when it comes to rock and roll style!! And when I say rock and roll I include every sub genre including metal!
It's the Solo 6 for me. Love the 'lean' too; it's very unique and is a step or two away from a standard Les Paul shape. Makes me want to pick it up and play it... got a soft spot for the Seymour Duncan pick-ups too...rich classic sound...
Solo II just WAY better, can you make comparison video of Schecter Solo-II and Gibson Les Paul and Esp ltd ec 1000, really confused with their body weight, some say that Gibson Les Paul way heavier than other "Les Paul" shape.
Schecter should do a thinline, flat top solo 6 with a oil finished body and a full metal top pickguard type thing, with a humbucker and a soapbar mounted to the pickguard, RW board with simple dot inlays. Yeah that'd be great thanks.
I have the Solo 6 Standard, used in pristine shape at $300. To me, it is the slightly beefier feel and weight. The Duncan Designed pickups are alnico magnets and sound just fine. It is versatile sounding from rock and roll to country to 'pretty' rock ballads. At that low price, it was impossible to walk away from with 18:1 Grovers, Tone Pros bridge. An excellent 'budget priced' guitar.
Solo 6 is something that reminds me of Paul Stanley type of guitar and the Solo II is then what you would find on Ace Frehley. The more traditional Les Paul shape is probably easier to sell to those that want a Les Paul bodied guitar. I think I would get the II model for that reason.
I like the funky shape of the Solo 6 but I think it would be more appealing in a different finish. The burst finish is too pronounced. The black is too much at the top bout and needs to be faded more with more honey color. I think that makes the shape look even larger than it is. But with that said, I wouldn't mind owning either one of them or both like you said, Ryan.
Sheckter solo-6 custom is my fist and only electric guitar I have bought so far. I have had it for 7+ years I recently got it serviced at my local music store. Im very happy I chose this as my first guitar to buy. Would recomend to anyone.
Both!!! They´re amazing guitars! I´m planing to get one of those and I´m having a really hard time choosing one... it´s making me crazy! I think I´ll go for the solo 2 fist and when they start manufacturing the vampire red SATIN again I´ll buy the solo 6.
I can tell you from experience, if your ever a touring musician... No matter how great Les Pauls truly are and no matter how big and tough you may be... You will need a SCHECTER to give you your a shoulders and back a break now and then without losing the sound quality you and your audience is used to when your playing almost every night onstage for hours and months on end. Just my opinion. Wanted to share. Thanks 👍 Peace...
@@RNAMusic Once a famous "Hot" guitarist endorses SCHECTER then we wont be able to afford them anymore. 🤣 God knows I love SLASH. B. C. Rich was the king when. GNR came out. But thanks to 👍🤣 SLASH I won't be getting a new Les Paul anytime soon. And I'm sure you know as well as I do. Gibson, Fender and SCHECTER are the exact same ingredients. 👍
Me personally I'm a Solo-6 fan I have 2 of the Black Limited and 2 of the Cherry Sunburst Classic they're both 24 fret but the Limited is a 25 1/2" scale and the Classic is 24 3/4" scale. I personally was hooked on the exceptional high fret access on the Solo-6 it was just more comfortable for me than the Solo II high access. Both Beautiful guitars but that's just my preference.
Hiyah Ryan, had a Solo II as you know and gave it to my cousins kid, I did get a ESP 1000P and I miss the Solo II so I'm looking at the satin black n gold one now, hopefully I can get her to my small arsenal. Sorry a lil late to the party like FIVE years LOL i love the Solo II the best of the 2, the offset shape of the Solo 6 isn't appealing to me I guess.
I had a Solo 6 and C-1 Hellraiser and traded them both off so I could get a Gibson. I regret getting rid of both of them. Just got an E-1 standard today though.
I like the Solo 6, But! I wish the color was different, inlays like the Solo 2, and different volume/tone knobs. other than that i like it. The shape of the Solo 2 just doesn't work with me well. then again that is hypocritical because i own 2 Michael Kelly les paul style guitars. The only thing I dislike about LPs are the circular shape. I'm more of a strat guy tho because they're lighter on my left collarbone that I broke and their customizability is crazy. I wonder if someone could make a String Thru Les Paul with a 2 inch thick body... anyway I've rambled enough. Cya!
I actually thought that the solo 6 shape looked more vintage. kind of like a "shape that could have been but never was" sort of thing. In the end I'd like a solo 2 with the same burst as the solo 6
The Solo 6 looks and sounds Better to me. Now if the Solo 6 was available in the Solo II body , Jumbo Frets Fuller neck profile and 24 3/4 scale. then Hell Yeah!!!
Dude, you know which solo 6 I love. From Blackjack ATX line with 3 tone sunburst. That guitar was perfect for me and I used to own one but I sold it and it was one of the biggest mistakes in my life. And I'm soo bummed that they don't make them anymore. :(
Hi Dale (I recognize your name since we visit some of the same channels, so hope you don't mind a question!). Since you have the Solo 6 Custom, can you tell me if it has a arch or flat top? I've thinking about trying to find a used one, but can't put my hands on any Solo 6's (or II's) in my area. In the mean time, I'll try and look at old Schecter catalogs online. Thanks!!
I had a demon solo 6 which is discontinued and rare to find, honestly I hated the shape and sold it to a friend but this solo 2 absolutely beautiful. As being a loyal schecter user and a fan of single cut guitar , i will buy the solo 2 some day. It's really sad to hear that schecter has discontinued hellraiser extreme series..
Solo-6 is my favorite body style of any guitar I've ever owned. I'm actually not a fan of the Solo-II style. It looks more generic single cut. The Solo-6 style had its own flair and uniqueness to it with the shape. I just wish they made a Solo-7 Hellraiser. I would literally sell a kidney for that.
I have a solo 6 standard and at first the little bit of offset looks a bit odd, but it's very comfortable and after a while you barely notice it. To me the solo II looks a little bloated when compared to a LP or PRS Sc.
I feel like the solo 6 is more of a fluid looking guitar then the very boxy looking les paul shape. and I personally like it looking different from other single cut away guitars.
I had an atx solo 6. Thing weighed a ton, an the upper fret access wasn't all that great, unless holding it in the classical position. For that I prefer the solo 2
I like the solo 6, much better. it's not just a LP copy, it's it's own thing. that finish is sexy as hell too. I'd put some Gold covered pickups in there, change the hardware to gold.
I traded my Schecter B2 Stealth for a Hellraiser Solo 6. I cant believe my luck, i loved my B2 but it`s not very confortable to play, besides the price...a 500 USD for a 850 USD guitar, brand new Hellraiser.
+w1third Both ESP and LTD's have a smaller spacing. I had to sell mine because of it! Schecter Solo dont and are great! Dean Throughbreads are also great
+RNA MUSIC I have the Mesa Trem O Verb and use the blues channel cranked up, but have never put an overdrive into the clean. Will have to check it out, thanks for the info!
I've got a Solo-6 Custom lefty and it took me about 5 seconds to love the body shape once I slung the strap over my shoulder and played it. I got over the lean in the shape immediately and yes I like it because it's not a straight rip-off of the LP style.
Asymmetrical is the term you'er looking for. I like the Solo 6 except the curve at the top is(where the switch is) is just too fat, looks dumb to me. I am considering a Solo-ii hellraiser as they are the ONLY singlecut with at least a 25.5" scale. That's the only thing about singlecuts, you're almost always forced to have the stupid Gibson 24.75" scale and ESP is guilty of it as well which ticks me off since most of their buyers play metal or rock and IDK MAYBE want to tune down?
I know this video is a lil old but was the solo 2 balanced when playing standing up? Wanted to test that out myself at guitar center but they've been out of stock
how wide is the nut on your Gibson les paul? Gibson says they're "approximately 1.695" The width of the nut on the Les Paul Standard 2010 Limited is approximately 1.695", the traditional nut width of Gibson electric guitars." Schecter spec on the Solo II Custom "Nut Width1.653” (42mm)" You're talking about a few hundredths of an inch different. Or almost 1 mm different.
I just bought a solo 2 and let me tell you its about a 1/16 different than my 1988 solo Charvel/ jackson. That's huge when they crammed the middle three strings together whit that special nut. . Makes it even tighter for my fingers to fit. The sound is incredible, but the strumming of lower cords, like the " a" and "f" this guitar is not for me... but its solo ability is incredible.
Yea wish they would burst the solo ii, I liked that they e en burst the back and the neck, solo ii just needs more options than emg and 2 colors black and red So boring....

Are there specific speks for electric blues?

I like booth as long as they have no neck dive. I just got an amazing tempest custom but it has a bit of neck dive
Jacob Bockover no dive on either of these. I have 3 solo 6 now and they’re all great on balance
I like the looks of the solo 2 but I personally think solo 6 blows solo2 away tone wise. it's probably the active pickups, more for power.

Solo ll the more classic traditional look I think is better. But has a more electronic sounds
Which one do you prefer?

What is your first??
Metal? Rock?? Blues?
I want a humbaker quitar.. for blues stuff..bbking zztop

The nut needs to be wider for guitarist with big hands. Like a les paul. Why copy it if your not gonna make it a strummer?
how wide is the nut on your Gibson les paul?
