One tip that helps alot. Render out your melody and make it mp3 and set the bitrate to less than 160kbps to emulate downloading from RUclips and quality loss from its source.
Forgot to mention, if you have the feedback issue I showed in the video, all you have to do is mute the channel. So if you recording on mixer channel 11, just turn off the little green light (the mixer volume) it will still record ( you will see the signal moving) but you won’t have feedback issues. I didn’t have my screen capture going for that part as I was on my DSLR so I couldn’t explain it.
Also, be creative with this! You can add crazy effects to the original sound before you record it into the mic. Then bring your mic back super far, or put it up high, just take an hour and record a bunch of these with different ideas , effects, mic positions, mics, etc!
