Unfortunately I can relate to this song. My 30 yrs of being a Firefighter/EMT it seems I put so much energy and fight into my job that I forgot about my family. Now that it’s time to retire, I realized that my kids have grown up and started their own families and lives. I can barely remember the first steps and first words. To whoever reads this, please don’t make this mistake. No job is worth loosing the memories and being there for your family. Kids, I’m sorry and I Apologize.
It is not to late, you still can have good memories with them. It's just a little different now. Enjoy your family while you are still alive.

My son is currently in the USMC stationed in camp pendleton CA. 5fdp has always been his favorite band and his inspiration. I cannot thank Ivan and all the guys enough for everything they do for our real heroes. They will forever have a special place in my family's heart.

I've been a fan since 2007. When "The Bleeding" was pretty popular. All of their songs are freaking awesome! I really connect with them all their songs. Ivan wrights about deep internal thoughts/feelings of experiences. None of his music bashes or complains of other artists or material things, nor is it hateful towards any specific population(s). He has such a big heart and sings with passion and strong emotion because he's experienced so much tragedy and loss and other personal struggles. I'd give anything to meet him in person. ❤

As someone who is currently going through alcoholism, all I can say to my loved ones, and all the people I pissed off when I was loaded, I sincerely apologize.
At one point in my life I felt exactly like the lyrics to this song. I went through a lot of what Ivan did when I was an alcoholic.

As a war veteran I follow them because it is close to what soldiers go through, It clarifies beautifully many things we experienced, and even inspires .
I said CLOSE. I could apologize for the hurt on others that Severe PTSD causes.
I lost my beautiful family that way...But I didn't let the world pass me by, I did take action, if not to save the world, at least to leave it colder.
I did know what was wrong and right, then again you come back from war a different being full of rage, fears, etc., but you don't know what is going on with you, you can't accept having a problem...I guess the song reflects some of it, because is more about him and some addiction and a hard knocks life background where wrong and right wasn't defined and caises damage on others...Any song more suitable to remember at least what not to do in order to get better?.

look towards what inspires a positive future full of posibilities, a beautiful unpredictable future, face yourself, change...Yes, it is posible, but with help, with guidance, it requires work, be carefull, songs help to reafirm a positive or negative thought an emotion ...Choose correctly:
Trauma=a bad memory=bad emotional, feeling= producing chemicals that program your body to constantly go back ro relieve the bad past= Addiction to living a depressing miserable life= sickness at all levels, due ro those bad cjemicals you have been producing!!=Unable to change because once you step out that familiar pain and sorrow, you feel you are "uncomfortable" facing a temporary void of nothing changing= I rather go back to the familiar bad feeling amd guilt, because "It feels safer that way"
Reprogram yourselves...
Stop living in constant state of alert and survival mode!!..Leave in a creative prosperous and easier mode!!

I didn't believe it at first...I couldnt seat still, I was shaking sure to get Alzheimers...Meds? Yes...But then after I didn't need them I was producimg more Serotonin than with meds!!
I dint know better and lost a lot...I LEARNED. and now I'm happy and prosperous...In fact freat things come to me...I don't go looking for them.
I'm giving you the solution, the answer I couldn't find for years!!! and no Dr knew about it or rarely was able to barely explain it...In case you wonder why not many are cured and even kill themselves.
