I have painted leather barstools with your paint several years back, and they are still in fantastic shape! I have just been so busy teaching workshops in my studio that I have not had time to do what you and Gene are doing today. I miss it so much and I’m looking forward to seeing your video on your cute chair and your nightstand. How fun!!! Thanks for inspiring me to get back to what I love to do!…Now I have to order some paint.😊 thank you for sharing this awesome video!
You grabbed hold of my heart at recovery, rescue and restoration. God bless you sweet lady. Haggling is the most often used term no matter where I’ve lived throughout the U.S. Occasionally I hear barter but looked it up just now to clarify and this is what I found… Bartering is trading one item or service for another item or service, no money is exchanged. When we offer a vendor/seller less than the selling price, it’s haggling.
I'm new to your channel but I am hooked already ! I have an upholstered bench at the end of my bed that I was about to donate to Good Will, but I am going to try your idea of painting upholstered pieces. That little club chair looks absolutely beautiful ! Thanks ! From DFW Texas
The timing of this video is perfect for me. I donate to and shop our local thrift store that benefits a local non private organization that provides vocational, residential, community living, employment as well as crisis services for mentally and physically challenged folks living in our area. I will give more attention to items I might not have considered until watching this video. I can wait to create something unique. You are inspirational in so many ways!
I have one of those chairs…it was my grandmothers that I grew up playing on for hours twirling around. It needed recovering so I paid to have it reupholsted years ago. But love now getting to know about this!
Hi, I just watched a video you did where you painted and decoupaged two green wing backed chairs. In that video you just used paint and water. Have you found that using the fabric softener works better? Thanks. Laura from Australia :)
❤🔥❤🔥 Hi Amy, You've been my rescue on so many projects. I don't post (haven't gotten there yet), but I will soon! I SOOO LOVE the results of the chair. Thank you so much for posting this video and giving a detailed explanation throughout. I have a new (free) loveseat that I'm thinking of doing this to. The arms and front trim were faux leather where the flaking is almost gone and the fabric underneath does not look bad. I have a chair that I will practice on first, but if time permits, please share your advice on the faux leather fabric
Thank you for the video. What type of paint for fabric? Also, what are the measurements for paint fabric softner and water to add to each batch of paint that you were using?
That chair is awesome!!! I'm too late to vote but I was thinking that stencil would've looked great on a square pillow that was painted the same as the chair while the chair itself was left solid... and the skirt removed if possible. Love your down to earth presentation.
I think you did an absolutely amazing job on your little chair. I love it. ❤ I just wish you could have shown us how much paint you used for the stencil and demonstrated the actual procedure. I am just not good at guessing at how that miracle happened. I plan on using similar colors you picked out and using the same stencil. I want to do this on a complete set of ratton furniture I bought on FB Marketplace. I am so excited about getting this done over the winter months. Is the stencil paint also a chalked base paint? Or does it matter since it's covering a chalk base? Just a couple of questions, I was wondering about. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your mini masterpiece. ❤ ❤❤❤
I have a sofa that I have been thinking about painting. It does have what I would call an embossed pattern, but I wouldn't mind if that shows. Can something like that be painted?
I lost your sound when Gene was about to give us the tag line and the rest of your car conversation was muted. The story of Haven House is wonderful. What you do for those women is great. Love that story ❤️ My son worked at the Annunciation Maternity Home in Georgetown, Texas. They have a wonderful story as well.
I love the chair transformation and I’m going to do my parsons chairs. At the end of the painting section you sanded. Did you give another coat of color or straight to wax?
How do you prevent the paint cracking when you paint vinyl? I would have thought it would sit on the surface rather than be absorbed? And do you still use the same paint for vinyl and fabric?
Amy, since the beginning flipping furniture you are my inspiration to rescue it!
OMG right! Love that stencil! Game changer! I love how you get excited like I do!😄
Thank you!
Love that 12.50 cent chair!!! Such a great finish❤️✅
Isn't it amazing?!
Yes it is totally amazing and I shared to 3 others
I am from Dorset, England. The time is 20.15. Really enjoying watching you paint fabrics. I want to paint two headboards.
Thank you so much for sharing. Have 2 chairs dad gave me. He passed. Will use this process in memory
Thank you for the great tutorial! Ripping off that skirt will update the look considerably. I love the stencil on the seat cushion.
Love learning from you! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with with all of us newbies. Watching you in SC.

Hey, just checking in from Chanute, Kansa. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge! 😊
First time watching. Shared this great video. I have been wondering how to paint fabric or leather. 👏
Hi, I just watched a video you did where you painted and decoupaged two green wing backed chairs. In that video you just used paint and water. Have you found that using the fabric softener works better? Thanks. Laura from Australia :)
Adding Fabric softener is a game changer in painting fabric.
I could even see those chrysanthemums in a bright golden yellow metallic among the silver!
My chair has embossing. Kind of like velvet or chenille. Would this work on that fabric?
Yes it will!
Tuning in from Northern Ireland😊
Thanks for watching!
Thank you, wonderful job!!!
Sandy, (long time friend),from NORTH CAROLINA! ❤
Great deal. Yes, haggle is definitely Southern 😁

Hi! Thank you for watching!
Hello, first time here! I live in Cleveland, Tn. I was born and raised in Florida
Would this method work on out door furniture?
Outdoor furniture would need to be sealed to protect it from the weather elements.
Beautiful work! Do you ever deep clean your chairs before painting to get dusts and stuff out?
You do have to make sure they are clean before starting or it can mess up the finish.
That chair is awesome!!! I'm too late to vote but I was thinking that stencil would've looked great on a square pillow that was painted the same as the chair while the chair itself was left solid... and the skirt removed if possible. Love your down to earth presentation.
Can any paint have the same effect with fabric softener. I guess I should just experiment.
You will need the right based paint for it to have the same affect.
Carol from Florida. I like your technique. I purchased fabric spray paint from Home Depot and like you said it’s sort of stiff after you apply it.
Thank you! We do have other videos that show the stenciling process in more detail.
Can you use your regular chalk paint or does it need to be the one step chalk paint like in the video?
You can definitely use other chalk paints but we cannot say how other products outside our line will work with this project.
You are a DOLL!! I just bought 4 of your cerusing waxes and already had two friends beg me for my secret sauce💞
Thank you!
I have a sofa that I have been thinking about painting. It does have what I would call an embossed pattern, but I wouldn't mind if that shows. Can something like that be painted?
Yes! The possibilities are endless!
You have to wax under the seat cushion if it not on a covered deck or it will soak into it ?
Waxing helps it stay soft and repel water. It doesn't make it water proof
Thank FOUNED You today & Subscribed
Excited !!!!!!

GA, very south!! Yes, like haggling!!
Wondering how you applied the metallic product?
To give it a dimensional look
Yes do the stencil on the cushion only in silver metallic
Hi Amy,
Can you paint a darker color chair a lighter color paint?
Yes you can you just might need a couple more coats depending on the difference in paint colors
Thank you
HELLO ‼️ from BEAUTIFUL HIGGINS LAKE MICHIGAN 💙💚
Thank you for watching Hazel!
Hey...quick question... Does the fabric need to be treated to prevent it from rubbing onto your clothing when sitting in use?
No need!
Love 30a! I know exactly where Haven House is!!
Hi, from Monica in Southlake TX!!
Hi Monica!
Is the paint water based?
Yes!
I lost your sound when Gene was about to give us the tag line and the rest of your car conversation was muted. The story of Haven House is wonderful. What you do for those women is great. The pattern would be pretty on the back and pattern on a pillow the same to match the chair using the white and black metallic
love that idea!
Did u move? I thought u were living in Memphis?
I love the chair transformation and I’m going to do my parsons chairs. At the end of the painting section you sanded. Did you give another coat of color or straight to wax?
They give back to community, so I don’t haggle😊
Yes pattern on the seat

You're so cute!
Hey, I’m from Ohio.
Hello there!
My hubby calls me

Lol!
The audio needs to be better
No, do not apply the stencil
How do you prevent the paint cracking when you paint vinyl? I would have thought it would sit on the surface rather than be absorbed? And do you still use the same paint for vinyl and fabric?
Yes you use the same technic for fabric. Waxing will keep it soft and not cracking.
