- For more than two decades, the Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS) program has worked to expand access to veterinary care in underserved rural communities where poverty and geographic isolation make regular animal health services unavailable.
RAVS’ veterinary teams have treated more than 170,000 animals, providing a range of services valued at more than $33 million - all at no cost to the clients or communities we serve. In addition, our field training programs have provided life-changing service-learning opportunities for more than 9,700 veterinary and veterinary technician students and professionals.
The RAVS program expands access to animal health resources via three interconnected approaches:
Direct care veterinary services provide immediate response to relieve suffering and promote animal and community health.
Clinical training and mentorship for veterinary professionals and students to increase awareness of the issues, provide relevant clinical experience and empower individuals to help shape effective solutions.
Community development support and project facilitation builds local capacity for community-based animal care resources and sustainable service programs.
Thank you for all that you do!! Great job Ranger, representing Cheyenne River. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
THANK YOU: every member, volunteer and associate of RAVS. You are SO DESPERATELY NEEDED in these communities. So many people want to have companion animals, but veterinarian services are SHOCKINGLY EXPENSIVE! Vet costs HAVE TO COME DOWN! Even though I don't fall into a "low income' category, I rescued two kittens, boy and girl siblings. They need neutered and spayed. The prices I am getting from various vets are $350 to $600 EACH to spay and neuter. This is highway robbery!
So beautiful greatful Thankyou.❤❤❤❤
The respect and total devotion of the Natives are topics that have opened my eyes and mind so much towards Mother Earth and her children. It's honorable, and, sorry, to help them in the slightest, must be federal law. After all, it's history.... Ciao da Genova, Italia 🐾🐾🐀⬛🟩

Barrier? I hardly know her!
Good job. But American Indians are not the only people in rural areas with limited veterinary services. There are plenty of Whites living in such places who face the same dilemma.
White people also come to the clinics my friend 😅
This is one of many low-cost programs and they still serve at least a dozen communities across multiple states.
More will always be needed (we are in a veterinary shortage), no need to break it down by perceived race
Povere creature 😢
