Thank you soooo much for sharing, God bless you! Totally I think the weight loss also stems from just not being hungry like never..... (sometimes I prayed to just get appetite)
A symptom I had when I would be drinking heavily is itching. My gastro/liver Dr. said itching related to the liver is really only a decompensated cirrhosis or later stage damage related. I think otherwise as I had been diagnosed with fatty liver last year but know I had itching all over (more intensely around ears/face) that I believe was correlated to bigger drinking bouts and to an elevated fibroscan CAP score. Anybody else face itching in earlier stages? I have currently reduced alcohol intake very significantly and highly improved my diet. Thank you LD for all your great videos reaching across so many areas. God Bless!
Thank you so much and you are so welcome! Yes.... I have had the itching as well. To the point I have made myself bleed. I'm sorry that you are going through that. God bless❤️
I have PSC a bile duct disease. It caused inflammation of my gallbladder. The same pain occurred to me. It later went to the back of my head. Even morphine could not get rid of it.
Everything you’ve explain is a correlation to celiac disease from Gluten. I lost the old ‘drive’ as well and resorted to the blue pills, as soon as i was diagnosed & address my CD back to normal!! How long till you get your next bloods done??
Hiw do you get diagnosed with cirrhosis are your liver enzymes all.high? I've had an ultra aound and have fatty liver but how do you know when it's cirrhosis?
Thank you brother for the great info you provide with these videos but i have a question i also have cirrhosis of the liver and quit drinking about six years ago but after i quit my significant other did not stop drinking and on occasions would get really drunk. I told her on numerous occasions that she had no consideration for my situation and she would say i had to tough it out. In your situation did your family continued drinking around you or did they stop for your sake thank you.
You are so welcome! I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, no.... my wife doesn't really drink, but the rest of my family do and still do when I am around. I don't stick around long for that reason. Thank you! God bless😊

I slept wrong last night and my right shoulder is killing me. Now I’m thinking I have cirrhosis and I’m scared. I suffer from anxiety and ever since my little brother died of cirrhosis, I worry every day of every symptom. I don’t drink like he used to, but I do have a six pack every Saturday.
Just found out I have enlarged spleen but know nothing more than that. I have been referred to a gastroenterologist. I rarely drank alcohol, not overweight or diabetic, very active, take 30 mile bike trips, eat healthy, but I have liver disease and not sure how mild or severe. Do experience symptoms, stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, headaches, muscle~joint pain, extended abdomen, fatigue, and right back shoulder pain like I was stabbed. So not sure what to expect and how this will affect my life in the future if at all. Thanks for sharing your story.
I have had all of those symptoms, all of them. There are so many things that could be going on, but an enlarged spleen can come from portal hypertension, or from liver damage. I would definitely see a Dr about that. All of the symptoms that you listed sound like pancreas and or liver problems. I am not a Dr by any means, but I have done a lot of research into this topic. Keep me posted on how you are doing please. The pain In the back comes from the pancreas. God bless

I did regain some back. I do not work out. I do walk and do some things around the farm, but I am not supposed to really exert myself with the varicese. Ohh I wish I had found this video a year ago, I could not get a UK doctors appointment. I self diagnosed fatty liver disease, and changed my diet, started intermittent fasting, and taking vitamin/ mineral supplements. Some of my symptoms have gone, or improved, the huge hard stomach, has reduced and softened, the pain in right shoulder, gone, the shocking sharp pain like I nipped something in my stomach when twisting, has gone, the many horrible toilet symptoms, dramatically changed, the discomfort eating, improved, the huge weight gain every year, stopped, the swollen ankles and joints with aches, going down, the crippling depression, stopped, the daily " I just don't feel well", improved, the lymph nodes in neck permanently swollen, have reduced. I recently changed my doctor and have finally got a doctor to help, lots of tests are happening. I've still got breathlessness, and Angina like symptoms, but after scans my heart is "healthy", water swollen calfs, still here, delicate stomach, but I'm careful, dramatic head hair and body hair loss, ( thyroid tests appears okay) no libido, muscle loss ( I'm slowly working on ), very dry skin, and I've lost 50 lbs, but 50 lbs more to go. Latest test results are here, I have a doctor's appointment in a fortnight to go over them. On the whole my life has improved, pain and discomfort reduced, I'm working with my new doctor on the rest. Thank you for your informative video!
I get terrible shoulder pain in both shoulders and straight across some into both sides of my neck. Mine is a deep deep painful soreness ,almost like severly bruised under the flesh in the tissue. Was been going on for years with the fatty liver and now cirrhosis. I also get very depressed, who wants to deal with it? Yet little children have to fight cancer and many die from it before they ever live. We have a fatal disease sometimes the transplant only gives extra years . To face the fact that we all die, o matter what. I also get pain in the spleen and the liver.
What I find ironic is how everyone and their dog says "Go see your Doctor." when even a Doctor visit costs like $100 out of pocket and plenty of people can't cover that expense, let alone prescription medications. That Star Spangled Banner doth wave... O'er The Laaand of the Freeee... And the Home of Those Who Can Afford It.
Agree. It's ridiculous. I guess I'm fortunate. I have insurance. A high deductible insurance. You always have to try to decide is this really an emergency. Because the hospital will charge their fee then the Dr will charge their fee separately. I always calculate a trip to the er 1500.00. trip to urgent care 250 to 600.00. a trip to the Dr office much more reasonable but it can be hard to get an appointment
It took me about a year before it started to go away. What really helped me more than anything I did, was consuming enough protein. It was a game changer. It helped with the ascites and with the fatigue, I also started drinking a few cups of coffee each day. I had stopped drinking coffee when I was a drinker, because I drank in the morning. Hope this helps! God bless😊
@liverdisease-qb6rk my appetite isn't good plus I stay nauseous all of the time I have to force myself to eat. But it's getting better. My diet is mainly protein from almost any source. I can't eat most meats so I mainly eat chicken and baked fish.
@SamPonder-pr5js I'm so sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing. I promise. Absolutely no appetite at all. Always nauseous. I had to force food down too. I started drinking protein shakes and it helped me tremendously. I hope you get to feeling better soon! God bless ❤❤❤❤

The intense dreams. That was after stopping drinking, right? You took the muzzle off of your brain's proverbial dog. Your neurons started partying, unchecked, after being held back. That can happen for a lot of reasons, but with alcohol being a CNS depressant, removing that dam will create a flood every time.
Hi LD. I’ve been following DR BERG for a long time. He’s really helped me with my health. Good to see you. Stopped by to give support. Hope you have a wonderful day too 🙂🙂💚

Sorry if you've probably mentioned this before, but did you have any warning liver panel tests any tests prior to your LD diagnosis? Did you have tests with elevated enzymes etc. prior to the diagnosis?
No, I didn't. I ended up sick and when I was in the hospital, I found out everything. I hadn't had bloodwork done in years. Hope this helps. God bless😊
@@liverdisease-qb6rk I had elevated enzymes on a test, so stopped for a month, they dropped down, so then i kept going. Now taking naltrexone trying to hopefully get things under control before it's too late. I was abstinent for about 6 years before the past 2 years when i started again, and kept within medical guidelines the first year, but then the past year, gone fairly out of control, recently multi day binges upwards of 36 units in two days, and no other substances involved. What strikes me about you is, you have so much to live for, so sometimes it's hard to imagine why you drank excessively in the first place, but of course, it can get it's teeth into anybody anywhere ultimately i guess. for me though it's just me myself and I - my life is pretty bad objectively. But I don't want to die from alcohol it's no way to go.
I can relate to most of the symptoms you have described. I was diagnosed with cirosis 1 year ago and it ain't pretty. I was 175lbs and went down to 114 very quickly. Still trying to correct it
I have been drinking alot for a couple of years after over 3 years of sobriety. And I have had pain under my right ribs and lower right stomach for about 10 months combined with big wierd blood vessels in my eyes that looks like instant noodles. I have done blood work a couple of times and an ultrasound scan on the abdomen once but it didn't show any signs of liver problems so i don't know what it can be. I am a bit unsure but also afraid that it still might be liver problems but still have hard to stay away from alcohol its like my motivation to stop only comes sometimes.
I'm really sorry to hear that. Have you discussed a fibrosis scan with your Dr or a biopsy? I would definitely ask for that. They can definitely figure out what's going on with both. The pain in the liver, is something I had for a long time. Hope this helps @ god bless

God bless❤️

Osteoporosis at age 50 , I know someone who’s drank everyday since she was 20 and her bones are like that of an old lady .
I have PSC a bile duct disease. It caused inflammation of my gallbladder. The same pain occurred to me. It later went to the back of my head. Even morphine could not get rid of it.

Thank you! God bless😊
How long after you quit drinking before you felt good again?
Ron had severe white coat phobia....he always knew it wouldn't be good. Ignoring it didn't take away those symptoms. It took him away from me. LD not trying to make your channel about him, I just adding to your topic for the benefit of others who may not be taking you seriously.
Thank you so much for doing that! Absolutely no worries at all and if you are comfortable sharing these things, keep on sharing! People need to see these things and understand just how dangerous this really is. It's not a joke, this is life or death. I didn't realize it until it was too late and I don't want people making the same mistakes I did. Keep sharing!!!!! I can't thank you enough! God bless❤❤❤❤❤
My father was the same way. I think for him it was part fear, and part shame. The way he refused to address his health definitely made me become vigilant with mine. But now I also live with health anxiety that I have to keep in check. It's a tricky balance because my past behavior with alcohol makes a lot of my compulsive thoughts make sense. Have a great night, thank you for sharing and please continue to share whenever you feel compelled. I can say that your comments keep me in check. I'm sure they do the same for others ❤

God bless
@@liverdisease-qb6rk thanks for the reply and I meant to say liver. I have been referred for a fibroscan to check for cirrhosis. At this point it may just be Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Your channel is very informative and I hope you can enjoy the holiday weekend.

Just found your channel and thank you for doing this. Just curious what life expectancy is for you now . Do you have to get a new liver to live ? Thank you for sharing man. God bless you man. My pre usually pretty dark until I drink a lot of water, and I do have some pain coming from my right side. I’m really scared I won’t be around in 5 years, even if I don’t drink antique drip of alcohol . Any help would be appreciated man.
The pain in your shoulder was that on your left or right side ?
On my right side.

Did you regain some of your muscles back? Do you workout? (or you should rest)... Do you eat a lot of protein, like 150g or more? Maybe too many questions hahahah...Tnx :)
I did regain some back. I do not work out. I do walk and do some things around the farm, but I am not supposed to really exert myself with the varicese. I do consume around 130 grams of protein daily and have for over a year. The protein really was a game changer for me. It helped so much, like really helped. Thank you! God bless😊

That being said, I agree with LD. If you need help, get to the er.
How long before the feeling of shear exhaustion goes away?

Yes, it was after I had quit. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you! God bless😊
