This track is easily one of the best new schools of metal out there. As a drummer this track is a pain in the ass to play. I'm not the Riv or anything but I'm exhausted after this playing this track. Still love playing it every time. Classic.
I listened to this song a lot back in highschool, it hit very close to home for me.
I was a huge victim for bullies at school, and I received verbal all the way up to being dragged by my head to the oval and set upon by a group of people.
It was not a good time for me, but I am much stronger for it now that I have come to terms with it. Those same bullies are now my friends and acquaintances.
In the end the only thing that determined what happens to me or any victim of bullies, is how you choose to deal with it.
I chose to make myself likable and harder to bully, and chose to move past my negative past and replaced it with a positive future.
Yes, getting bullied sucks, yes, the emotions do remain,
And yes, there will always be bullies no matter where you go, what matters is how YOU decide to deal with it.
I'm so glad you remained strong even though people were outright cruel to you. I hope you have found love, peace and fulfillment in your life

I've been bullied from pre-school until college on almost a daily basis, being beaten, spitted and all... I thought about suicide a lot and even about taking some of those guys with me. However, now I'm glad I kept my cool for those 12 years. I'm a successful engineer, I have an awesome girlfriend (who was also bullied for some years) and our lives couldn't be better now.
Meanwhile, I've heard that none of those bullies did something meaningful with their lives and they struggle quite a lot now.
If you're being bullied, keep this in mind. Keep on track, don't lose your composure, don't do anything stupid, because you are awesome and life will treat you better than them when it matters.
If nothing else, this story and advice deserve a t-shirt

Man o Man seeing you so pumped up about good songs or good themed songs is so dope man and also the fact that you are willing to support people by lending a non judging ear is equally dope. Foray more into metal and you will come across many other bands that have really deeper lyrics and sometimes outstandingly poetic too
When I was 8 years old, I moved to Texas from Ohio and started going to a new school, obviously. The entire year and a half I lived there I was bullied by a lot of the people at the new school for everything between talking weird or with an odd accent, to anything they could think of. I spent almost every second out of school either in sports or at home and I gained a little bit of weight because of it and got bullied for that too. It was then that I promised myself that I'd never treat anyone like that because of how it made me feel unwelcome and just how miserable I was. Music has always been something I relied on for anything between comfort or inspiration or anything. I thoroughly enjoy all your reactions because you are so honest with them and you actually put your heart into them and they're good and enjoyable.

I've been bullied but I didn't realise it. My idea of bullying was what you see in movies - Getting your head shoved in toilets or having things thrown at you etc. But it can be outcasting people, laughing at them or making comments. Shit really affected my confidence.

When I was a kid, I was in an sporting accident and I had my two front teeth knocked out. Unfortunately, they were my permanents. I have been wearing a partial that I have to poligrip in every morning for 20 years. I was bullied so much for this growing up. I heard them all, including "I bet I know what you want for Christmas" (yeah, I know, it is pretty funny) and I even had parents telling me that I better never end up in prison because I would become everyones "best friend"... that's not something you say to a 13 year old when you are an grown ass adult... For 20 years I have had to hide behind fake teeth that I take out each night I go to sleep because people STILL judge me but so much worse, they automatically assume that I am a drug addict and THAT is the reason why I do not have front teeth. I can't go to a job interview or go to work with no teeth, they would all think the same thing, that I smoked a bunch of crack... But I would not change what happened to me for anything, because over time, it helped me learn to read people and I have gotten to the point to where I can figure someone out within the first 5 minutes of talking with them and if they are generally a decent person or not (obviously not every person because we all hide demons inside of us, but generally speaking, I can read most people pretty quickly based on their demeanor and body language what type of person they are). Something like this really puts things into perspective. I never gave up and majority of the people that made fun of me are working minimum wage jobs at 30 years old and are paying child support and still live at home. This helped me grow in so many more ways than one. No matter what, no matter who bullies you, never lose sight of who YOU are and what YOU are doing with yourself. Friends and enemies come and go, the only thing that lasts forever is what you have accomplished at the end of the day.
I'm so thankful you persevered through the alienation and hurt people have caused you. I hope you found a happy, fulfilling life.

Ugh, I fucking hate when adults talk to kids like that... My mom used to have a friend (who turned about to be a child abuser who locked her daughter in her room to take drugs and disappear for days, go figure) who was dying my mom’s hair one day. I said “eurgh” when I saw the serum or whatever and she said “If that’s how you think when you see this how are you ever gonna deal with cum?” I was a fucking child... Nasty bitch... I’m nearly 28 now and that memory _still_ creeps me out.
I got bullied just as bad as the kid in the video if not worse... I'm surprised I made it through childhood. But now I have a great life, I still have issues I deal with. But I made it through. Life gets better after high school. Trust me life does not begin till after you become an adult... Stand up for yourself but don't hurt anyone unless you are forced to defend yourself. There's always someone bigger... Hell pay a bigger bully to give your bully a taste of his / her own medicine... I had cousins that stepped up for me when I needed it. But they weren't always around. But my bullies knew that there were consequences if they went too far. But I still go bullied. But then again after 9th grade I moved to a new town and I had a whole new life. But I had no self esteem. But it was a much better life afterward.

I was actually in a position to get sweet revenge on one of my bullies from high school. I worked hard and got promoted into management at my workplace, so I was in charge of hiring new employees. One of those employees was a bully in high school. The kid I was back then dreamt of screwing over this guy one day for all the things he had done to me. But I've grown a lot since then and was able to look past it. Hell, he was convinced that I was gonna deny him the work opportunity based on that. He even asked me if I remembered him and all that he had done. I told him, "yeah, I do remember. Do a good job and we'll call it even. Sound good?" Didn't think I'd ever see him shed a tear in front of me.

Totally in with you on the bullying issue. I've been bullied in school, too. And yes, that definitely sticks with you. And yes, I know that most bullies are insecure and like hating on smaller, weaker, in whatever way different people, just to feel better and superior themselves - at least I know that now. Like over 10 years later. That still doesn't make it easier for someone who's shy and introvert and super-sensitive like me. My saving grace has been my Taekwondo club back then.
Just for anyone who's going through that right now: It gets better. I know that sounds hollow, but it does. Also, try to make friends outside of school. There's bound to be someone who is just as "weird" (you know the good type of weird, not the psychotic Norman Bates type of weird) as you, someone who shares the same interests or hobbies that you have and it's always easier to get through life's hardships when someone's walking beside you. 😘
Thumbs up. And, learning taekwondo was a positive, productive thing you did as well, to become a more-resilient human being. It would be helpful to any person to lift weights, get yourself more in shape, and learn some self-defense tactics like jiu jitsu, krav maga, taekwondo, wrestling, etc. Any of the above. Not only does it help you become more resilient, but it also helps to build confidence in yourself.
Fun fact: some (but not all) of the strongest bodybuilders in modern history were once bullied themselves, and chose to stregthen themselves as a positive response.

Love it! BFMV is one of my favorite bands! I've been bullied all throughout school as well. In jr high and high school it got to a point where some teachers and other staff were doing it too. I wanted to drop out so badly. At times I even cussed out a few teachers for bullying friends of mine. One teacher even tried to blame me, myself for why I was being bullied. So I cussed him out and never returned to P.E. again. Didn't need to in order to graduate. I had almost all my credits by the end of jr year. All I needed my sr year was science credits. With that said, rock on and stay strong!

I'm not gonna lie, BFMV is the band that started getting me into the harsh vocals! I first heard them when I was 11, now I'm 15, and I listen to After The Burial, Slipknot, Beartooth, Trivium, and much more!! So BFMV holds a very special place in my heart!!

I was a victim of bullying as well, Alex, and all I have to say about bullies is they're best served a dose of ice cold revenge. They don't stop until you stand up to them, and show them that you're stronger. You try to ignore then, try to ask for help, and the fucking "authorities" never do anything about it. Eventually, you get tired of it and you have to strike back.
May work for some people. But for some, especially nowdays, it may not be possible, or not advisable. It did work for me, I started lifting weights, got stronger than most my age, then beat the shit out of the various bullies each subsequent time I was attacked. Each one of them never bothered me again, not even once. Then later, in high school, most who had once bullied me became friendly toward me. But I don't necessarily recommend going the route of revenge. I finished school before the first mass shooting. Back then, we all fought mano y mano, no weapons. Today, you could get yourself killed by some nutjob in your class. Revenge is not worth your life. However, lifting weights, taking jiu jitzu, krav maga, etc. are very worth it to learn how to defend yourself and also gain confidence.
If you wanna take your anger out on something find something you like. Some examples:
Taekwondo
Karate
Boxing
Any sport really
Art
Music
Anything really that makes you happy and relaxed.
