Recorded by ABC-TV
Ritchie Blackmore - Guitar
Jon Lord - Keyboards, Synthesizers
Ian Paice - Drums
David Coverdale -Vocals

Coverdale sings like he's really worried about his baby left him. He's not even singing, he's living the lyrics. There are no words for Blackmore - his guitar just cries.
Blackmore is the best guitar solo of rock.

I was there. 17 years old.
Lucky you! I was only seven at that time and did not know they existed until I was 12.
Man, I bet that was awesome. Did it sound as good as this clip?
you’re lucky sir..
You lucky lucky lucky.....b_stard :-) :-) :-)
Wow were you?- it must have been a Blast ma Man- Btw your a Year Older than Me Lol:P -
Voice: Perfect.
Guitar: Perfect.
Bass: Perfect.
Drums: Perfect.
Synths: Perfect.
Deep Purple, the band that had it all.
There is no place for perfection in rock music. You may as well listen to fucking steely Dan if that's your trip
Jupiter . . . you are being way too serious. I agree with Dead Forever.
This version of - Mistreated - is as close too perfection. Led Zeppelin were the masters of the studio in this genre due to Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones studio brilliance.
Blackmore is the undisputed "live Master." I have recently spoken to a Rainbow fan who saw Blackmore live in '77 and said that he has NEVER seen a guitarist do what Blackmore can do. In a famous '79 interview, David Gilmour was being praised by a journalist for a name Guitar Magazine and was praises for his abilities in the Stratocaster. When asked about Blackmore he said words to these effect " . . . that guy is pure genius live . . . I have seen no one else be able to segue from a blues base rhythm chord and riff to a classical arpeggio . .. as effortlessly and as flawless as Ritchie Blackmore.
sin computadoras without computers
Wiht love from Ukraine(Donbass)
DEEP PURPLE ..."perfect" ......strangers 😋
Ritchie Blackmore plays killer riffs. No matter who is singing. Blackmore makes any band look big
Fucking king. King's intro.
Ripped off by oneabees like Malmsteen, with brilliance, but 0 feel
🤝🇷🇺👍
Totally I think he was pushing the rock guitar to a another level .
well, you see, part of Blackmore's magic also was that he had great taste when choosing musicians to play with him, so you knew that whenever Blackmore was involved, shit was going to hit HARD
Coverdale is emptying the bottom of his soul into this masterpiece.
David isn't just stressed by the pressure he has to put into his vocals. He felt the pain of this song in his bones.
Je pense la même chose.. Quelle interprétation ! Çà vient des tripes..
His soul❤️
The best David Coverdale performance of all time
He earned my respect right then and their. Hard as he'll to replace Ian Gillan an icon. He did not replace him. David and Glenn Hugh's wrote their own great chapter of rock icons, family of Deep Purple.
Thats right
True, a wonderful band!
I really believe that he has been mistreated .. brilliant ..
And Dio was still better...
50 years later... We are so lucky to have the internet and this video service. How else would we have been able to experience this phenomenal performance? This out-of-this-world band? This amazing Coverdale's voice of the 70s?? I really feel lucky. I've heard this song so many times in my life, but just now, realizing all this... I'm awestruck!
Трудно представить,что мы восхищались 50 лет назад - этим шедевром,как и сейчас.
This performance really captures Blackmore and Coverdale at the height of their powers and indeed they were two very special performers.
Mr. Coverdale was just a youngster here. Good God. Blows my mind.
and ARE. RJD killed this song as well.
Ian Paice is on fire here
Ian Gillan and Glenn Hughes equal extremely talented
This isn’t Coverdale ? It’s Evans mr rod evans to you.
A mere 23 years of age, first time in a big band, 300-400, 000 people as an audience and David Coverdale, delivers live this gem of a blues song.
Off course, when you have Glenn Hughes, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord and Ian Paice backing and trusting you, and an audience of that size, you have to deliver...and he doesn’t let us down
Я из России мне 62 года.Но этот хардт----- рок. Мои дети тоже любят джипов.А я вообще

@@gregorysagegreenewhat do you mean exactly
Richie Blackmore hypnotised the whole crowd first with that Guitar !!! Wish I had been there
@harveyduke8999 Ritchie Blackmore was a top 3 guitarist in the world 🌎 in his day easy. He is a Mount Rushmore guitarist. I don't say that lightly. Rainbow proved he had the goods. Did not live off the Deep Purple brand 💜. David Coverdale in his own right delivering the goods that night and now. We might laugh at hairbands now. But Whitesnake was one of the biggest hair bands ever. MTV he was the poster child of that error.
At that time, Coverdale's voice sounded like a lion.
Dude, this is a masterpiece, how have I never seen it before?
It is the timing, does not fit into any known pattern..
Crazy Bluesy...
No way it sounds the same every rendition.lol.
Блэкмор- лучший! А Ковердей- был и остаётся
@@user-tj5cq2mx3y Еще мне нравится Блэкмор, он отличный гитарист.
This song he is not nervous any more and really are att his best at the 70s.
He has the blues in his genes, and he went more that way in the Snakes, takeing John Lord with him.
They were a bluesrock band untill Sykes open up a hole new era from then, nomore playing before Scorpions and the biggests band at the times, now they where headline leadband from -87
@LOARMIJA sir, I have no ideia of what you're talking about
Damn, modern singers can't come anywhere close to this in an effing studio with a truckload of post-production effects... and this is 100% live. Respect! DC at his very best.
No audio corrections boxes, playbacks and other crap ... just massive vocals and enormous musical talents on stage.
Amen!!! Just like zeppelin, Sabbath, AC/DC, GMR no fancy over produced stage shows. Just talent and balls!!
Funny thing is that the echo effect of the guitar is done by tape echo delay device which was a huge box with visual tapes revolving. And it was visual for the audience to see on some shows. Blackmore have told about people frowning and pointing at the tape delay, which is hilarious
How can you be so sure
Best version ever
Coverdale has a stunning voice 🙌🏻🤍
What a fucking MASTERPIECE, man. What an amazing performance, it's unbelievable how good it is. So fucking intense.
Agreed, this version totally rocks, Coverdale is immense!
David Coverdale, is the King in this live version. The whole band is top notch.
amen
barrynotlarry HUGE AMEN ! !
Its Good BUT just not Ronnie James Dio Good.Rainbow 1977 - On Stage live album sensational !!!!
This is Coverdale's song.Dio is a better singer but he doesn't feel the song like he does his own songs
Hughes is an egotistical meglomaniac always calling Coverdale???
David Coverdale ❤️
Amazing. Coverdale sounds brilliant
this is the best live perfomance i ve ever fucking heard. The vocals, the guitars ,everything man! Legendary band.

Love the intro Blackmore does on this. The guitar sound throughout is exceptional.
It’s so sonically present
This single performance cements the 70's as the best decade of Rock.
The music alone does that. Plus the awesome personalities from that era.
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
Damn Ritchie's performance is so unreal here. What a tune what a sound what a solo...
Unbeatable version... This guy put all the intensity in this theme... It's not just a question of skill, it's how you pass the feeling, absolutely unique, just incredible.
Bruno Faustino it’s all about feeling, it’s all about emotion!!
Yes..passing the feeling. You can have the "best" voice and if you cant spread the emotion it's not going to matter
Have you heard '77 live in Munich???
@@bo1jon227 As much as I love Dio (he's my favourite singer), I feel Coverdale's bluesier voice is a better fit for this song.
Correct, the best version
IN MY opinion, David is the all time best rock/blues singer. Best live performer and he has been in the best bands that ever walked the earth so far:) This man is amazing
Agree
Magic, But Paul Rodgers who Turned Down the Job by the way before David was taken on Board still has his fantastic Voice, where as David is difficult for me to listen to now. but it was then that mattered and this is Unbelieveably Brilliant. love This Band.
He's not the only one... But definately is one of the top 5! ;)
Agree 100%
the best blues/rock singer! just perfect!
Blackmore is a guitar God
The MASTER of the Stratocaster
The guitar right before David starts singing gives me chills
I’ve watched this video hundreds of times and every time I love it even more. Deep Purple is and forever will be one of the greatest bands of all time (musically not by popularity) and I stand by that. Everybody out there is a master of their craft.

Excuse my ignorance, but isn't it IAN GILLAN singing??

Coverdale: energy and pure feeling.
who can ever forget Gillans Child In Time ?
who can ever forget Coverdales Mistreated ?
Of course thinking Deep Purple without Gillan is like thinking of Deep Purple without Blackmore
but thank god this band ever existed ...Gillan Coverdale Blackmore Lord Hughes everyone ....
and most of all IAN FUCKING PAICE who never ever abandoned the band
They is no any statement greater that the above.. to add on think of their stage lights to complete your canalizes.

DAVID COVERDALE
What a voice and what a guitar talent!
David Coverdale's bluesy voice is awesome, but Glenn Hughes supported him in Deep Purple because David could never really hit those high wails.
The perfect Rock Band! The whole Band was on fire. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Deep Purple could blow these new bands away with no problem.
Ritchie's guitar playing was awesome, with Daves voice one of the top live performances
Without a doubt top live performances ever. Watch the child in time video too, that one is also up there.
Ritchie-Coverdale......What can i say???????? Respect!!!!!!!!!!!
Wowww 😳 David Coverdale* here had to give... EVERYTHING*!!!
Anyone who had the opportunity to watch this live was sure to be CRUSHED*!!!!!!!!!!! What Vocal POWER...
INCREDIBLE VOCALS, A MASTERPIECE
Probably the best live version of this great song. 👏👏
Obra de arte...monumento al rock...cuanto talento había en los 70...nunca morirá..
This is a masterpiece. Coverdale had the most powerful voice in rock.
More powerful than Dio?
All 5 feet of Dio in my opinion had more range and stage presence.
@@user-mf5ue6rc5n Dio was great, but he wasn't capable of conveying the emotion that Coverdale could, in my opinion at least.

The 60s and 70s were very a special time for music. You had young, very talented kids, coming together making groundbreaking music with new tones, sounds, styles, vocals that just organically evolved music.
Absolutely phenomenal, their best performance of this song ever
When young Coverdale made his mark at California Jam.
one of the greatest ever guitar players on the same stage as one of the greatest ever rock and blues singers
One thing for sure - Ritchie always had a knack for choosing good lead singers.
Of course. He chose dio. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻👌🏻
