    Note to self... new PowerModz bumper sticker, "have you hugged your motor today?"

    Something not said in the video- make sure to loosen the Y-pipe when you torque the jug bolts on individual heads... You want each jug to independently compress the base gasket and the y pipe would hinder that if it was tightened on... It looks like you had the bolts loose or removed when you torqued yours so should be good.

    that thermostat delete is smart, just takes a little longer on warm ups.

    You should have used the piston to push the rings down the cylinders approx 1/4 stroke to get accurate ring gap measurement...

      It's a bore kit............... The cylinders are going to be the same circumference the length of the bore until the engine has worn-in. Unless they were poorly machined which you should be checking out of round at 3 places throughout the jug anyways. If you want to get technical....

    easy way to hold the domes in the head is to thread a couple spark plugs in. then you can simply hold everything tight and set it down on the pots by holding the plugs without any fear of lifting a seal.

    Well Sir isn't great, this is exactly what i did tonite, i have put my 700 together, regreased the bearings, new pistons, port and polish jogs, lap the head and the cylinder, new Boyesen reeds, dynoport pipe, now i'm just chilling on the couch with a glass of wine and there you are doing the same thing! Awesome! Louis really! 0.013 for ring gap? i just put T-Moly and they recommend 0.016 to 0.039, i have set mine @0.025, before the tear down i was @121-123psi with 0.052 gap, hope for you she don't get too tight... Cheers big guy.

    thanks for a nice uppload / Sweden

    You should always have rags in the the crank openings while doing that because alot of c clips arnt magnetic so save you self the hassel of fishing it out and for the guys tearing down a stock top end bomb does NOT use cage bearings and there should be 27 roller pins and two washers

    Would that bypass work with the 05' RMK 900's? My thermostat was stuck closed as well and I just rebuilt my top end last week. More info on the bypass would be great. I just don't want it to happen again if I were to get another thermostat

      rotax adjustable variable exhaust

    • @SnoFreaxx
      @SnoFreaxx 10 лет назад

      Rotax Adjustable Variable Exhaust Valves adjust the exhaust size as the sled goes up in RPM, at low RPM the exhaust ports are smaller for more grunt and they open up in higher RPM's to allow for a better flow and high end power
      something in those lines..

    You should really think about buying special plyers for cerclips, do they make them in canada

    • @hottiedj911
      @hottiedj911 10 лет назад

      He has some, but sometimes its more convenient to use other things. He is putting a cerclip in, not taking it out, which is what u only really need plyers for. And of course they have them in Canada

    • @timelytaged
      @timelytaged 10 лет назад

      Your wrong putting pressure on it while putting it in, is a higher risk of slipping off and scratching the piston, I know he's a smart guy so if he had some he would be using them

    My grandpa has an old zx 800 chassis that I want to rebuild and he went through 3 of those old 800 motors... they were notorious for throwing rods out the block, what's the difference between the old 2002 motors vs this one?

    thought it was bad to run an engine with out thermostat? or is it diffrent with snow mobile? interested in why.

    • @aaronw3067
      @aaronw3067 10 лет назад +1

      It is common in race cars and jet boats as well. Although you must run a washer or in his case a gutted t-stat to allow for correct flow if you simply left nothing in the housing the water pump could not pump enough to supply and circulate.

    Didn't you stress in a video to worry about bearings going everywhere? As you carelessly put them in exposed to the crank!
