another great video! I have seen and watched just about all of your videos even if they do not directly apply to my toys. keep up the good work powermodz crew.
Something not said in the video- make sure to loosen the Y-pipe when you torque the jug bolts on individual heads... You want each jug to independently compress the base gasket and the y pipe would hinder that if it was tightened on... It looks like you had the bolts loose or removed when you torqued yours so should be good.
It's a bore kit............... The cylinders are going to be the same circumference the length of the bore until the engine has worn-in. Unless they were poorly machined which you should be checking out of round at 3 places throughout the jug anyways. If you want to get technical....
easy way to hold the domes in the head is to thread a couple spark plugs in. then you can simply hold everything tight and set it down on the pots by holding the plugs without any fear of lifting a seal.
Well Sir isn't great, this is exactly what i did tonite, i have put my 700 together, regreased the bearings, new pistons, port and polish jogs, lap the head and the cylinder, new Boyesen reeds, dynoport pipe, now i'm just chilling on the couch with a glass of wine and there you are doing the same thing! Awesome! Louis really! 0.013 for ring gap? i just put T-Moly and they recommend 0.016 to 0.039, i have set mine @0.025, before the tear down i was @121-123psi with 0.052 gap, hope for you she don't get too tight... Cheers big guy.
the rave valves are for flatten the Power curve . the old two strokes back in the days were peeky att high revs now they are much stronger at low revs ....... but .....the Always get cloged andstuck in the cylinders on most brands ;( esp Arctic thanks for a nice uppload / Sweden
You should always have rags in the the crank openings while doing that because alot of c clips arnt magnetic so save you self the hassel of fishing it out and for the guys tearing down a stock top end bomb does NOT use cage bearings and there should be 27 roller pins and two washers
Would that bypass work with the 05' RMK 900's? My thermostat was stuck closed as well and I just rebuilt my top end last week. More info on the bypass would be great. I just don't want it to happen again if I were to get another thermostat
U R THE MAN,i am new to sledin,i have a 2016 polaris 800 rush, and just got a another 05 rev 800 with spl pipe and spl can V force 3 reeds and mikuni carbs twin (it SMOKES my 2016 polaris all day long (i have a 04 600 sdi rev too) any ways ...road it the first time to day, blew the rad. cap off twice and ant. freeze all over the sled my leathers ,got it home could not figure out how to fix it,watched your video and BAM all the heart ack went away...i have to say THANK U from (skitown) muskegon, mich. for your videos.now i can sleep tonite and NOT lay in bed thinking how i was going to fix it,cuz i was thinkin( dumb me)i know it cant have a thenstate in it cuz thats just for cars to get heat...if u find time check out wildeyednorthernboy ,my channel on utube ,it might make u laugh PEEEEACE
Rotax Adjustable Variable Exhaust Valves adjust the exhaust size as the sled goes up in RPM, at low RPM the exhaust ports are smaller for more grunt and they open up in higher RPM's to allow for a better flow and high end power something in those lines..
He has some, but sometimes its more convenient to use other things. He is putting a cerclip in, not taking it out, which is what u only really need plyers for. And of course they have them in Canada
Your wrong putting pressure on it while putting it in, is a higher risk of slipping off and scratching the piston, I know he's a smart guy so if he had some he would be using them
My grandpa has an old zx 800 chassis that I want to rebuild and he went through 3 of those old 800 motors... they were notorious for throwing rods out the block, what's the difference between the old 2002 motors vs this one?
@@PowerModzOfficial are they reliable? I really want an awesome updated sled but I dont wanna be going through motors left and right... thanks, also how would an updated motor with wiring harness work? Is it possible?
Where do you order your top end repair kit? I have a 2002 mxz 800 renegade 136” zx chassis I would like to order pistons cylinders and top end with gaskets
It was just rebuilt i bought the spi kit off ebay. Well i think i did find some what of the problem crank bearing on pto side are lock up and slide off.
It is common in race cars and jet boats as well. Although you must run a washer or in his case a gutted t-stat to allow for correct flow if you simply left nothing in the housing the water pump could not pump enough to supply and circulate.

awesome build!! forged is the only way to go. yeah takes a lil longer to warm up but once its warmed up game on!!!
Note to self... new PowerModz bumper sticker, "have you hugged your motor today?"

Great video . I might do the same to my motor
that thermostat delete is smart, just takes a little longer on warm ups.
You should have used the piston to push the rings down the cylinders approx 1/4 stroke to get accurate ring gap measurement...
great idea!
That's what I do. It works the best I find.

@whywontitpass is right tho.
That’s what I was thinking

hmm, i'll look into that! .052 is a pretty big gap!

should have something over the base when putting the new pistons on the connecting rods, i lost a clip down in the base before not fun

Make a video on how to gut a stock rev silencer
Did you use the stock oem cylinders, but had them bored over?

You didnt change the bearings to the crankshaft after you had the engine failure? Lole..

Probly couldn't find them
try to find a tool in the shop - good times.
i cant believe you didnt cover the engine crank before retaining ring install
He's a rebel.
Somebody please get him some C-clip pliers for Xmas.
lol i got some! and then lost them...and got another set...lost most of those....
thats how much fuel it drinks every minute. hahaha
What about the iqr mountain mod?

from me - i can get you one - contact my website.
I thought the crank had to be balanced for the weight of the piston rods pin and rings, poor main bearings
Did you do anything to the clutch before or after this install?
yes you will need to do some clutching to get the full benefit, kelsey is a great help with it!
What year is that motor?
At 14:00 I heard what does rave do
So i have a 2009 skidoo summit 800 hill climbing edition. The pistion was missing a chunk cloar to the intake side. Any ideas what it could be
old piston, could have ingested something

thought it was bad to run an engine with out thermostat? or is it diffrent with snow mobile? interested in why.

it takes the guess work out of it for people who don't let their sleds warm up enough.
were is part 2 good video by the way I mite send you my motor .
What oil are you using?
For this i used doo mineral based, for all my other sleds Irving oil Syn Trax.

First
Didn't you stress in a video to worry about bearings going everywhere? As you carelessly put them in exposed to the crank!
