Your parents should be very proud of you captain 👨✈️
He never ate at McDonalds so he looks 50.
@@Howrider65 lol
They will be very proud of him
You don’t know the complete story of this character
2 Takino 2 yea actually good point.
From the beginning of his professional flying career to his retirement with one company and still a smile on his face, congratulations.🎂
that is so extremely rare.
I wish to do the same.
It's evident that he loves his job, most of us would be depressed after working for the same company over 2 years. Then again, it's not uncommon for people to be working for the same company for decades in the olden days, my dad worked in a company for 3 decades and he has never thought about leaving. Times have changed, nowadays it's considered normal to switch jobs every 2 years as job security has eroded.
Sounds like Singapore Airlines looks after its employees as well as its customers, very good to see.
Dude i'm crying just looking at this comment. Beautiful
The man looks better than some 30yr olds.
😂😂😂😂
I am one of those 30 year olds you are talking about. Damn.
It's what happens when you love your job
wbgsci lmao
65?? impossible
You are a role model for all SIA pilots. Well done and happy retirement. More time for your grand children I believe. Good bye.
He is a role model for Pilots everywhere of every Airline. To start as an engineer and work your way up to Pilot.
@@scarletfluerr when he started out there was a engineer in every plane so he was in the cockpit from the start so he would know a lot already.
Why u saying goodbye? He's not gonna die m8
@@mjbulawit7720 why? Goodbye to you means u going to die? Hello, you ok or not?
Michael Lee Don’t judge too fast. How will you know he does not have kids
As an aviation enthusiast, it is always so sad seeing a pilot retiring. Countless hours in the sky finally comes to an end. I bet he will really miss his job so much.
there are worse ways countless hours of flying can end.
There are pilot jobs for people aged 65 plus.
Yeah but in the end it's good that pilots retire after a certain age. As all people suffer from some degree of cognitive decline
@ flight instructor, bush pilot, banner flying, corporate jet pilot. Many options. No more large jet flying but there are many ways to take yourself to the sky and get paid as long as you can hold your medical.
Flying is not a job for them. It's a passion. It has always been.
He really looks Good and healthy for age 65... all the best and we'll wishes to him
from maintenance engineer to captain pilot!!! that is no easy task sir!!! Well done
He's enjoyed the whole spectrum of a career in aviation. He's a pilot and aviation professional to the bone!!!!.
Hanasua chon g chii
everything is possible
The way they surprised the pilot 😱
It just warmed my heart😊
Edit: iv always wanted to be a pilot and hopefully I can be one when I’m older
Me too :3
Good luck! May your dreams come true!👍🏻
FBI! OPEN UP!!
As a former flight attendant for (just) 33 years I can very well understand his feelings and emotions during his last flight.
I felt exactly the same on my very last flight.
All the best, a happy retirement and always 'happy landings!'

giving an other chance i will do all of it again a lucky guy

This video needs to be seen by everybody.
Tumne dekh lia na kaafi hai👅
I think thats the life . 46 years in the sky.
46 years in aviation not sky.
Ankit Bera the figure of speech was lost on you.
No kidding. .. you're right... he has seen the world from the sky for 46 years.
@@ankitbera1482 your dumb
No man, not literally 46 years in the sky. Add some time of his sleeping, eating and his resting time at home. Be serious man. ;-D
Alright who’s cutting onions? 😰😢
Those were tear gas canisters!
Onion ninja's every single night. So annoying!
thank u for your service. happy retiring
Flying and traveling is a huge part of my life. I can't thank pilots enough. Wish you all the best! Side note: he looks incredible for his age 65 seriously, no way lol
thanking pilots? I hope you don't clap when pilots land the plane.
After some time, I’m sure flying isn’t so stressful anymore. Flying is such a passion, no doubt he must’ve been relaxed in the air.
That was a special video. Wish I could give it 100 thumbs up. All of the best for your future Capt. Chung Choon Yin.
He looks super super super young ❤️😭😂🔥
65 you are kidding 😂😂 he looks around 40s
He looks 60s. Too young to be in 40s.
I retired 5 years ago, also after a very long pilot career, enjoy your new life and the new opportunities. Congrats 😎
Lucky fella retired just before covid.
Same like my Father He is actually an Engineer but My father got a Chance to Convert to Pilots so He do it same like This captain in the video
God has blessed this man no plane crash within all these years hmmm.I felt emotional while watching this video 46 years is a lot I'm soo happy for him.A new chapter must open.
The chance of a plane crashing is very very low, the media just makes a very bid deal out of it when it happens. Pretty much all pilots go through their life without crashing a single time.
Anyway that being said, I like your message and I also wish him a happy life. :)
@@alexandermheen-garschke6166 I agree that the media exagerrates
Please sir thank you for your services and you've done the best decision have fun
‘’Start with the same company since 18 ....” . Wow ! Congratulations. You are a loyal employee. Don’t see it too often.
What a great video! Thanks for sharing Chung Choon Yin's story!
Although it's sad to see a pilot retire, he's done a very great job as a pilot.
I felt the same way when I retired in 2017 after 35 years of serving as a firefighter. My crew and friends surprised me with testimonial dinner attended by my colleagues and the District Fire Marshal.. T'was the grandest birthday party ever... Praise God..
I SALUTE TO YOU SIR, MORE POWER HAVE A GOLDEN RELAXATION NOW,,,.😊
What a wonderful story. Total immersion in his job and loving it every day. Best wishes, Captain.
Captain from my honest perspective, I think you retired at a fortunate time. Look at the aviation industry today...
When you watch videos of grey hair, grandfather-like Amercican/European pilots who proudly boast to you how they've been with their airlines for 20-30 years, then an Asian pilot comes along and smash them with his near half-century career record LOL
He was flying boeing- 737 max during his last flight 😂😂
Lmfao chill
737 but good piloting his family was the passengers and look good ohhh tis tetiring age hesaid given another chance il do it again let me work in ethiopian air lines he might hwlp those youngdtwrs toomuch expiriencegodbless himmission accomplished
That’s a 787 boys
@@lioneltan430 no dude it's 737-max 800 I'm 100% sure
Sidharth Nair that’s a 787
Woww...the pilot started his job when he is 19 years old
I love Singapore and Singaporeans, best community ever.
As a frequent visitor to Singapore, I would tend to agree!
Danny As a singaporean, thank you for loving my country. Have a nice day :)
Yes Singapore is such a nice, beautiful country and friendly people, im glad to experience it even for only just a day, 😊
Good thing about being an engineer first is that he is knowledgeable of the aircraft mechanics.
The people who disliked the video are jealous that they couldn’t get to fly on board
46 years in aviation and 4 decades of flying.
Would be good if he were to give a brief on the types of aircraft he's flown.
must be a flight engineer on the 747, then first officer on which type, Captain for SIA, flying what and then finally flying for Scoot.. on 777 maybe?
real aviatian enthusiast would love to hear all these.. thank you.
That's a blessing to fly for do many years without an incident. Well done for that long service.
Going through the process and stages of a
"technician, engineer and pilot" is no easy task. Therefore, the captain overcome these barriers and difficulties. That had created the "inspiration, motivation and persistent" through the years of hardwork.

Hai I am nirmala from India. Congratulations to you sir 'you have done and you have achieved it 'great...... 👍✈️👌
I’m going to flying school in 5 months. Thanks captain for inspiration
Good luck with your retirement, Captain! It’s really hard for pilots to give up their office in the sky.
Thats called "DEDICATION" IN ENGLISH
Yahh😂😅
Wishing you all the best and a very happy retired and healthy life Sir... God Bless you
Nowadays young generation wants to retire by 40 but by 65 their career is halfway through.
What a fantastic guy and 46 years in Aviation absolutely incredible. Happy retirement Capt!
46 years in job flying.....Respect🤗🤗
Keep your health well Captain
Well done Capt CY and congratulations on an amazing career!
Why are there 19 dislikes for this video?
Thank you for the wonderful video Captain Chung Choon Yin. I retired in 2018 from American Airlines after 35 years and your video captured so many of the emotions of the day that I also felt. I can tell by the tone of your
voice and your words that the crews loved working with you. I felt like I was listening to a brother. Well done sir.
I wish you good health in your retirement.

Congratulations. As a career pilot, about to turn 65 I can feel your joy and remorse at this moment.
Mike Maffei Happy retirement in advance, as the pilot here said, one door closes another open. You can always take to the sky through other planes:)
What a beautiful video, congratulations on your retirement Capt Chung!
ok hi i am chung choon yin son and my name is chung ren wei if u dont belive me, i will upload a vid of me and my father
I have always wondered what the people who dislike such videos look like?
Happy retirement Captain!! Thanks for serving scoot and the SIA team rest well after 46 years of hard work! ❤️👍🏻
Such a lovely man, enjoy your retirement sir!
I can only say on feedbacks from many juniors First Officers in SQ , there are 2 sides to a coin and definitely more than 3 sides to a story. This video is on only one side , his side....
Co Pilots are resources to ensure a safe flight and they were being mentally terrorised to the extend that some were reporting sick to fly with this captain, that captain cannot be said to be ideal.. I had to be critical about his style of captainship.
When i retire Someday i will still Continue to Fly. But small planes
😄 And help the younger Generation in Aviation
Congratulations Captain Chung. 🤗
Well done, Captain! All the best on your next chapter and thank you for your lifetime of professionalism.
With that numbers of years under his service, no doubt he even have "regulars" that board his flight.
.GODBLESS FOREVER AND EVER.
Great tribute. All these dedicated men and women get us around the world, with grace and a smile, day in and day out. Even as they are away from home and flying through all those time zones! Thank you!
Happy Retirement Capt. Chung! 😊
It's because of this video i subscribe to the channel thanks for posting this it has lead me to great videos really motivated me to the next level!

Dear Captain, Salutes and love and Respect to you from India..

"CONGRATULATIONS"
When you find something that you love to do? You never work a day in your life!
Being a commercial pilot is a best profession!!!
This is my dream 😍
Amazing story!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
A company that treats well its employees treats even better its clients! When I come to Asia I will try to book the flights with this airliner!
Great Man ,excellent contribution to SIA & Scoot , God bless you Captain
Consistency is away to success ....
May you have a Good retirement in your days and thank you....
It’s time for him to reap what he has sown throughout the years. What an amazing story. We salute you.
I need the Captain’s skin care routine because he looks 45, not 65
Scoot is a crappy airline, but this was amazing :)
FSXNOOB - GAMES & MORE Scoot is pretty good compared to the world’s aviation not taking into account of the premium national carriers of the world. You can’t expect awesome service for the cheap fees paid. Most scoot Pilots are fighter Pilots of the Republic of Singapore Air Force meaning to say they are more than qualified than any pilot of other national carriers to fly jets. Their health would be way better since they pass the compass test meant for fighter Pilots and able to sustain high Gs flying jets are a walk in the park for them. Jetstar is the only other viable competitor in the Budget world of aviation in terms of safety said or unsaid, statistics or not. But sad to say scoot soon will hire foreign Pilots from INDIA and when that happens consumer confidence in scoot herein Singapore will definitely drop...
People are still dreaming to become a pilot... And here's the Captain who has flown for 46 years... And still given a chance he would do it all over again.. wow Awesome 👍👍
Heart touching 😢very proud of you Sir now relax🤗
Thank you so much for your ceaseless service. Thank you so much for take care of us pilot...
Congrats, capitán!
Mr CCY, Thank you for flying at most 46,000 hours, Up to 15K landings, carried up to 3 million passengers and flew up to 46 million kms.
I have very much respect for you. You safely flown around 4 milion passengers in your life to their destination. That’s quite an achievement and something to be very proud of!
Enjoy your retirement life, captain. 👍
Awesome 😎
Damm he looks great for 65
Whenever I step off an airplane I make it a point to thank the entire staff as they bid myself and all the other passengers farewell, they are usually standing by the exit. We don’t realize this, but they put in an incredible amount of work before, during, and after every flight. From planning and preparation, in flight service, and then the eventual cleanup. Amazing. Congratulations sir, happy retirement and happy birthday!
I salute you Captain Chung Choon Yin
I also want to be a pilot :(
here you go amigo! ---> start with the ''flight channel'' on youtube
I fell Sorry for him (Not for quit his job)...
Such a sad day but most importantly such a memorable day.
'Congradulations' on your retirement captain and as you said this will not be the end in aviation for you
Im sure so many thousands of passengers have you to thank for your expertise, saftey and years of knoweldge crewing aircraft.
May Buddha bless you always.
Now he should go join Boeing or Airbus or any-other aircraft manufacturer as Test Pilot or he may want to join any of the start-ups working on drones taxies, best wishes to him!
Well done, very well done. Congratulations from the Netherlands. Enjoy your retirement.
