Funny how i only watched this film for the 1st time last week!! Very moving story! And then i read in the papers that gilligan is in fear for his life today and has ran off to birmingham after an assasination attempt and his body guard has been murdered!!! Justice will prevail! Gilligan its only a matter of time! Live by the sword! Die by the sword!

Hauntingly beautiful many sing this song but this is powerful, was tragic what happened to veronica guerin but she was fearless in her crusade and will be remembered for that I am a Glaswegian but my father and his family are from Dublin so I know my history .

The person sinning this is a young busker on thw streets in Dublin. When the producer was in Dublin he herd this young child sinning and got a recording of it and later when makeing this movie got to use it. It was recorded on his phone and the music was added in studio in the US.
This part of the movie made me sad

What a voice by young brian odonnel a member of the irish travelleling commiunity who are stigmastied in their country of ireland discriminated they are an ethnic minority in ireland and have been in this country for thousand of years and are almost hated in their homeland the racism is unbeliveble there are some decent irish travellers in ireland and are good hard working people the majority of then are scrao metal collectiors gardeners hard working men and family men what a voice brian odonnell a great talent ans should of been a national treasure for this voice if he was part of the settled commiunty most likely would be famous by now,

Can somebody load the scene from the movie where this song is on and all the family and friend's are reciving bad news. Please. There you can see how would it efects on other people if you will die. We all have to ask our self what are we doing with our lives, how we are living (smoking, fast driving, alcohol).

This song is so much about death that cannot have been a better pick...the feeling of loneliness and departure is overwhelming. The intentions with which it was written and the nationalist tones are, in my opinion, of no importance here...
