Gun owner for years.. just bought a P320.. i know how to clean guns... thought i'ld look at youtube anyway for suggestions... your Explanations are EXCELLENT! One of the best of tons i've looked at for all my firearms... One suggestion and only one improvement.. i wear latex gloves while cleaning..
The one thing i would add, since it drove me nuts for about 40 minutes. The recoil spring needs to be vertical when you're putting it back together (so a single dot is showing when its in its proper position), otherwise the slide won't go all the way back and lock in place.
Nice video. I do want to make a comment that might help some viewers. When installing the guide rod your comment sounded like it should be obvious which way to install it. Actually, it is a very common problem to install it backwards. In addition, Sig doesn't make it easy because there are at least three different guide rods. I have three in front of me. The guide rod for the full size has a single spring and on mine and yours the breech end has a rectangular dimple in it. Compact and subcompact guide rods have two springs. The end with the double spring is the muzzle end. In addition some guide rods have the round breech end cutaway to have two flats on it. If it has flats the should be vertical so the narrow profile matches the barrel extension. As always, the manual is the best source of information.
Thank you very much for this video! I'm a beginner, and I got my very first gun a few days ago, a P320 M18. I'm so happy with it, thanks for your help!
Thank you so much. I am looking to buy the Wilson Combat Sig P320. I wanted to make sure it was friendly to clean. I'm an 'ol tomboy and have used my hands a lot. I will be moving forward on my purchase.
Excellent video! I had trouble the 1st time at disassembly and especially at reassembly of my new P320 Equinox , this video was very helpful . As you stated, there are a few tricks that are helpful, many thanks!
Awesome video great instructor, great pace very great instruction as I disassembled, cleaned, and assembled within 1 hour, and everything worked as described!! 5 stars!!
Congrats! Got a 320 RXP XCompact - first pistol - last week. Completed Basic Handgun Skills course and put my first 100 rounds downrange today. So much nicer than the G19’s I’ve rented.
I saw that and fixed it. Then I came across your video and was glad I wasn't the only one who made this mistake at first. Thanks for the video brother.
Very helpful, thank you. My model is an X5 Legion, and the recoil spring isn't neatly packed on the rod like this one was. You have to (I assume) feed the loose spring end into the slide assembly and then compress it into place with the rod and then slip that into place against the barrel as shown in the video. Otherwise everything was the same.
Thank you for the extremely helpful video. It beats the awful manual by a mile. Do you expect this to apply to all P320s in every aspect? Including the X5 legion?
@@SkullCrushInc Im having the same exact problem, all was good until the very end, even with an empty mag in, or the slide all the way back the lock doesn't budge! actually it kinda looks like the slide is a millimeter short from "all the way", thus not allowing the lock to engage
Really helpful video, and I am a novice. Last time I took out the FCU, the safety lever pin just dropped out. Fortunately I saw it and slid it back in, although it still doesn't stay in place sometimes when I tip the FCU while outside of the grip module. Could anything have fallen out or gotten out of alignment in the seer housing while the pin was out? The gun dry fires fine but I have not taken it to the range yet. Thanks!
How tough should it be to push the patch through the barrel? I have 2.5” patches and I can’t push them through with the jag. It’s been awhile since I’ve cleaned my gun but it doesn’t have too many rounds through it
@@SkullCrushInc I’ll try that next. I use same patches on my Glock and have no issues, but on the sig I either have to force it or it just won’t even go
Cleaning my P320 for first time and saw that my Recoil Spring Guide is painted RED for 3/4 inch from top. Not sure what to do? Any advice? I bought the gun a week ago from local place.
Nice video. This is my 1st time cleaning my Sig and when I assemble it after cleaning the recoil spring guide sticks out a little after I put the slide on. What did I do wrong?
stiff slide catch? came straight here after my first time shooting my new 320 with the txg frame. put about 300 rounds through the gun and when i got home i noticed that the slide catch was impossible to depress and the slingshot method was the only way to send the slide home. did i miss something or is this a common issue?
Hard to diagnose without seeing it in person. Call Sig customer service and send it back if needed. Your P320 should be perfect. If not, let Sig fix it.
@@SkullCrushInc after I wrote that I checked out your website and found them! Any future plans on making them light/laser compatible? I have a Sig xcarry 9mm with a tlr 8 that I'm looking around for a nice otw for. That belt loop design is genius! I see you are a veteran and LE owned company as well, do you offer a LE discount? Thank you!!

Thanks Skull, you're crushing it!

BRAVO! Thank you for a CLEAR instructions!
Just added the Wilson combat grip on my M18 😁😏 best thing I've ever done & best gun I've ever owned period 💯💞 .
I agree. I feel the same way about the Wilson Combat grip.
Have you thought about changing the slide? Like maybe black wilson grip and like a stainless steel slide. I've been thinking about that

This made the process so much easier than reading the owner's manual.
Glad it helped Chris. 👍
Great job! Straight to the point, without all the testosterone-laden shit that plagues way too many firearm videos on RUclips.
Great instruction !! I enjoyed the way you took your time to explain & show everything step by step .. Thank You

New gun owner here when your cleaning stuff with clp do you need to lube or grease your gun?
CLP stands for cleaner, lubricant, and protectant. No need for additional products.
14 minutes well spent. 👍
Thank you for the extremely helpful video. It beats the awful manual by a mile. Do you expect this to apply to all P320s in every aspect? Including the X5 legion?
Yes, all the P320’s are basically the same.
@@SkullCrushInc thank you again. God bless man 🙌🏾
Why can’t I get my slide to lock in the back position?
Insert an empty mag or push the slide stop up when you pull the slide all the way back.
@@SkullCrushInc Im having the same exact problem, all was good until the very end, even with an empty mag in, or the slide all the way back the lock doesn't budge! actually it kinda looks like the slide is a millimeter short from "all the way", thus not allowing the lock to engage
the patches never come out clean out of the barrel. i used the metal brush several times, more than 10. and i used about 100 patches. any ideas why?
You can try a bore solvent first before the CLP but I think you’re okay. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
@@SkullCrushInc thank you

what are your fingers made out of. im having so much trouble taking my gun apart

Should be snug but not difficult. Cut the corners off the patch to make it smaller.
@@SkullCrushInc I’ll try that next. I use same patches on my Glock and have no issues, but on the sig I either have to force it or it just won’t even go
Please tell us about the holster.

So no oil on the fire control assembly?
Just clean with CLP. CLP will leave lube residual.
Cleaning my P320 for first time and saw that my Recoil Spring Guide is painted RED for 3/4 inch from top. Not sure what to do? Any advice? I bought the gun a week ago from local place.
Nothing wrong with your spring. The factory sometimes color codes the springs so they are easily identified in the assembly line.
Nice video. This is my 1st time cleaning my Sig and when I assemble it after cleaning the recoil spring guide sticks out a little after I put the slide on. What did I do wrong?
Something to do with the recoil spring. Try rotating it and re-instal.
Where did you get the module grip?
Wilson Combat
After how many rounds fired do u think it's okay to clean?
I only have 200 rounds through it so far
Clean after every use, regardless of rounds fired.
My disassembly lever is super tight.
Jiggle the recoil spring guid rod when the slide is locked back. Sometimes that helps.
@@SkullCrushInc Thanks I'll try that.
The nylon brush your using is just a toothbrush right?
@@reptileguy8458 Yes, I was waiting on a regular gun cleaning brush to come in at the time I filmed.
@@SkullCrushInc Why? Looks like the toothbrush works just as good.
