The use of Gun Scrubber or Powder Blast after you have loosened up all the fouling does a great job of getting rid of all of it in short order. Follow up with another round of solvent cleaning and repeat the process as necessary. Finally spraying Sheath Rust Preventative down the barrel and on all the metal surfaces following up with a clean patch to remove any excess will leave a coating that will not allow fingerprinting on the metal. Good video for as far as you go. A good field strip and cleaning is much better than nothing. The beauty of the P320 is that you can also break down the FCU, extractor and striker assemblies. If you don’t feel confident going into that detail, take your weapon to your friendly neighborhood gunsmith and he or she can clean down to the sear housing for you.
As a new pistol owner (getting in while we still can), I certainly appreciate this video. I bought this wry gun and it was nice to see the steps even if it is a simple process. Now I know with certainty I’ll be doing it correctly. Thank you!

It took me some time to learn that the slide wouldn't pull back to lock into place because the spring was loaded in wrong. The spring needs to go on the barrel with the rounded end placed on it.

Just my observation...seems to be quite a bit more oil than is necessary when you reassemble and will attract more buildup if put back together that wet...
I use Balistol...I soak the barrel good...clean inside and out. The upper and lower get brushing with a clean and dry tooth brush to clean and use just a bit of Balistol on the parts which interact with the upper and lower (very little)...spraying and soaking the slide and lower only attracts powder and grime. a dry slick gun functions much better than a wet oiled gun. Yes, CLP. Stands for "cleaning, lubricant, protectant". Some say it's not as good as separate cleaner and oil, but many people use it as a do it all. He was using CLP.
I found that the manual for the P320 calls for "CLP". But since CLP is kind of a generic term, maybe you can use the separate solvent and oil. I read somewhere else that modern ammo burns much cleaner than some of the older stuff. Maybe you don't need so much solvent anymore?

I have a question, so i just bought a brand new sig sauer m17 and started using gunzilla clp on it, is clp fine and safe for polymer? Is it going to dissolve the polymer or any plastic parts in the gun? Cause you know the clp will drop on the frame from the slide
Release the slide? How? After you swing takedown lever to disassemble slide from frame, do you need to press down on slide release first or does it just slide off on its own with forward movement?
brentfoto, first, pull the slide back into battery and lock it. Next, pull the release lever down to the 6 o'clock position. BDurant, you must be kidding. He broke the cardinal rule over lubricating. He even gave the firing pin assembly a good soaking. Trouble down the road for that beautiful Sig.
You really don’t need to use all those things. Unless it’s incredibly dirty, those solvents are not necessary. You can simply clean them with a cleaning lubricant like WD-40. No need to over do it, but to each their own. The barrel may be the only thing you need a copper cleaner on (in most cases).
ClayTrader Guns Better safe than sorry... Rotate the takedown lever, shit... Just watch other videos on how to properly remove it. You just need to take a dry tooth brush to clean off the fire control unit, and then you apply very little lube to the moving parts. It's not rocket science, but you need to take care of it every once and a while...
Sup Clay! I really enjoy your stock day trading videos, thank you for that! Just curious, will you post anymore firearm videos? Asking cause it's been almost 5 years since you posted your last one, thanks!
Does the P320 require more cleaning than a Glock? I always just use a dry toothbrush to get the carbon out of the slide, and other surfaces that are dirty. I found that I didn't need to use CLP or anything else. I'll use cleaner on the barrel, and put a tiny amount of oil on the slide rails, but that's about it. I definitely wouldn't use cleaner anywhere near the polymer sections.
Hi! Just bought my P 320. This is my first gun. Can you text me the correct names of the things which you used for the cleaning ? ( I didn't asked it in the store,I felt little bit stupid). I think I will buy them on the internet. Thanks a lot! Sztyopa
Interesting. It shouldnt take that long. I recommend "Hickock 45" watch his cleaning methods. I now use Ballistal as he uses. Hes very knowledgeable . I too only grease metal to metal parts. Around the firing pin and places you dont want dirt to collect for 20 years I have used alcohol on q-tips. Alcohol dries fast where solvents dont. Hickock45 is A Glock shooter and likes Sigs as well. Hope I may have helped. You may already know all I mentioned above. I would like to have helped you save time cleaning.
Jason Asunto yep, but it will come thru facing you which means when exiting the barrel, the force of the brush coming out sprays the oil and junk on you.
Gloves man! - use nitrate nitrile gloves. It is much clearer, simple to use, cheap, & saves time washing dirt/oil from your hands. The video itself is fine.
To much oil around every thing. Oil hold dirt and debris. Your cleaning steel and polymer. Your cleaning a gun but it’s steel. Just oil the inside of the barrel. Clean the gun with just a cleaning product wipe it clean the oil the inside of the barrel. For the outside of the gun once it assembled use mineral oil on a cotton flannel material.
It’s a great all around pistol ruclips.net/user/postUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ , doesn’t fit in plastic glock 19 holsters but will fit in some non plastic ones. The location of the safety isn’t very good because your finger will accidentally activate it but it can easily be removed by pulling on both sides at once. Don’t lose the red o-rings while doing that.

Thank you, you are great
p320 is unique gun which is modularity, you could remove the whole lower out of the frame to do more deep clean. lol.
That's true. But I'm not a huge fan of "deep cleans". The guns are built to "work hard" and shoot.
Look up the barrel never down unless its outside of the firearm.
That's all personal preference, I find that they are about the same in terms of maintenance needs, but never had an issue with either.
Hi! Just bought my P 320. This is my first gun.
Can you text me the correct names of the things which you used for the cleaning ? ( I didn't asked it in the store,I felt little bit stupid). I think I will buy them on the internet.
Thanks a lot!

Awesome thanks
thanks for the info
You're welcome!
Thank you, very informative and helpful!
SPRING DOES NOT GET CLEANED??
thank u so much
I shots my sig p320 400 rounds and it took me 2 hr to clean it perfect
Interesting. It shouldnt take that long. I recommend "Hickock 45" watch his cleaning methods. I now use Ballistal as he uses. Hes very knowledgeable . I too only grease metal to metal parts. Around the firing pin and places you dont want dirt to collect for 20 years I have used alcohol on q-tips. Alcohol dries fast where solvents dont. Hickock45 is A Glock shooter and likes Sigs as well. Hope I may have helped. You may already know all I mentioned above. I would like to have helped you save time cleaning.
pulling brush through barrel seems easier.
Jason Asunto yep, but it will come thru facing you which means when exiting the barrel, the force of the brush coming out sprays the oil and junk on you.
Dude my take down lever is fuckn hard lol. You did it all easy
thanks bro. nice work
Thanks
Gloves man! - use nitrate nitrile gloves. It is much clearer, simple to use, cheap, & saves time washing dirt/oil from your hands.
The video itself is fine.
Great info... thank you
Thank you Bonnie.
You're a funny guy. Way too much oil. Holly go lightly.
82 Luft yup
I was thinking the same thing.
What about the spring??
Nice intro bro 💯
i'd suggest latex gloves... much easier at the end. great video otherwise!
That's a good suggestion. Thanks!
Gloves would help you out immensely
I'd be careful not to get that CLP you are brushing inside the firing pin chamber.
Great video! :)
Paper you don't care about like say... Wallstreet Journal 😆🇺🇸
Good video thanks
how i do it, brake cleaner in a spray can, new toothbrush, the take it in the shower and use the handheld sprayer. boom, clean
Sudden sound at 10:46 made me shit myself.
Ummm....why not remove the fire control unit? Lol, life would be a lot simpler for you. Plus you could actually CLEAN it.
I'll give a try, thanks.
Never look down the barrel of a gun !!
Are you sure you’re not secretly Jeff Goldblum? Because you sound just like him 🤔
