I must stress that I am not aware of any fake Molten basketballs on the market. This video is intended to be used as guide to reassure you, should you doubt the authenticity of the basketball you have purchased. It also shows how you can easily tell a genuine basketball from a fake ball.
Damn !!! I'm from Viet Nam, I just bought a molten BG3800 S0J basketball, because in the country I could not find any place to sell the Molten BG3800 basketball When I played I realized something was wrong with this ball. After watching your video I firmly believe I have a fake ball
Could someone help tell if my ball is fake or genuine? Everything in the video is exactly the same except the “VALID THRU 2023” statement. Mine says “Level 1 2023-2027”
does the b7g3800-1 exist and does it have an embossed bar code? it looks slightly redder in the seller's pictures (though it could just be camera differences) and also weighs 600g. the seller says it is authentic from china but i'm not sure. i want to get it cuz it seems like a good deal for 35sgd
The BG3800 does exist, this is the product information taken from the UK distributor. It says its still made in Thailand so that needs clarification with your retailer. These are great videos. Do you have anything showing the Lusum Optio? I like the look of the ball but can't find any reviews online and would like to see the ball before purchasing.
Sadly not. It is a great quality ball though. No adverting or sponsorship mean you pay less for a higher quality ball. If you look beyond the brand name you will be surprised with the quality, in my opinion. It is manufactured in the same factory as 2 of the leading brands. I hope this helps. If you buy I would love to hear your comments too. Maybe I will get a ball to review soon.
@SportsBallStu thanks for the reply! That's nice to know it's made in a good factory, means the quality will tend to be better. The name brand thing doesn't bother me at all, I'm just looking for a good quality indoor/outdoor ball that doesn't cost too much. I'm tempted more now because of your comment, thank you.
@Kurt Saum Who's website? Sportsballshop and the Molten website in the UK both say Indoor use only for the BG3800. The BG3000 is suitable for outdoor use though.
@@SportsBallStu It states on the Molten USA site that it is for indoor/Outdoor use. Just curious as I purchased one for outdoor. It appears there is conflicting information on the Molten web sites depending on which country you look up.
@@kcs111 Here in Malaysia, it's stated as hybrid as well but as far as I have played, 3800 absorbs moisture like nobody's business so I would not recommend using it outdoor especially if it's wet.
They were discontinued in April 2020 so unless someone has old stock it is unlikely. You may find one on Ebay or some other reselling site though but would probably be a 2nd hand ball
Hi Yoohao As the Molten BGG7X has now been discontinued this is not a video I will be looking to make. Thanks for the suggestion though and for taking the time to comment
Everything about the ball I got matches a genuine ball besides the barcode. The company I bought it from on Amazon (BBBSports) swears they only get there balls from certified molten distributors so is it possible the ball could still be genuine with a different bar code? One other difference was that that the barcode itself was under the air pump hole and not to the right like the one in the video. (The ball is a size 7.)

I own more than 100 basketballs of different brands. This particular ball is one of my favorites.
Thanks for the information 🏀👍
My pleasure!

Hi Cuu it might not be a fake, as the codes may be different in Vietnam. Check with the Molten distributor in your country for reassurance

The BG3800 it's supposed to be for outdoors as well, isn't it?
Hi Elder Camacho No the BG3800 is designed for indoor use. If used outdoors it won't last as long.
@@SportsBallStu on their website it says indoor/outdoor. Is that a typo?

Hello, please help me, mines barcode is embossed and indented, it also says "B7G3800-2" and has different barcode, its size 7.
It sounds like yours might be the 3nd generation design. The video was realised with the BG3800 ball as soon as it wS released to market.
@@SportsBallStu thanks!
Can you do a review on the limited edition bg3700 black and white pls?
Very insightful
Glad you enjoyed it
love this video

Hi the information given is for a Molten ball supplied to the European Market. The code may be different for Puerto Rico and other parts of the world
They sell these in decathlon, could that one be fake?
Unlikely Decathlon would put themselves at risk as they have huge buying power with some of the biggest sports brands
I just bought a fake molten 😭😭😭😭
Is this a good outdoor ball?
Hi I'm Bringing Chilli, no this is designed to be used indoors. The BG3000 ball is the outdoor version 👍
What about the bg2000
HiTee Will good suggestion, that is on my list to do, thanks for commenting
@@SportsBallStu Can't wait, no one was doing it in english, I want also the bg2010, those two rubber molten bgs are looking good. We want a review
Is not only for indoor, for me bg3800 is best ball for outdoor
Although Mten state the BG3800 is an indoor ball so beware if using outdoors
@@SportsBallStu it says on molten website indoor outdoor?
