Hi tusukeros06, this is correct but only applies to the Molten BGM5X, BGM6X and BGM7X balls. Other models may have the smooth patch but varies from model within the range. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍
The fake one actually looks better for my taste. It's surface is not wrinkled like the real one's and the embossed texts looks better on it than the printed ones which look like a cheaper solution.
Which is why the fake balls make in roads on the market. Molten have now changed their design and materials used to try to stay ahead of the fakes on the market
Its funny how you can see some wrinkles on the real ball...ive got an old GL 7 and all the features were already there at the time. Still seeing wrinkles after the ball stored for such a long time...and starting playing with it. Grip from a real leather vs the other models is lower. I padi back in 2008 a lot of money from a retailer and I always felt cheaper balls had better feel.
Well, yesterday i just played some pick up basketball, and i suspect the dude had a fake ball. Km using some tarmak from decathlon until i get some good ball, and my ball has nice weight, which is around 550 grams, and as i am aware, basketball should weigh 620 grams. But this guy i played with had some molten ball which we used, and it was super easy light. It had a weird bounce, and at times seemed lika a potato...

I have both a legit and a fake molten GG7X. My experience playing with the 2 is : 1. The real one's leather panels resist dirt marks for longer. The fake one picked up dirt marks on the very first game use. Both are used exclusively on the same outdoor court for comparison purposes. 2. The real one holds air in as good as my previous spalding neverflat (which is the entire life of the ball). After the first pump, i have not had to pump it after the first initial inflation. The fake one i have needs pumping every 4 weeks. 3. The fake one i have feels marginally heavier. it requires a bit more strength to launch into a jumpshot. 4. Buying a fake rewards the counterfeiters. I only got the fake GG7X once it was out of production. That way, i know Molten isn't losing any money on it since the product is discontinued in favour of the BG4500 series.

Hi Kandace Renahan on the GM5X ball the real ball has a barcode that is flat. I haven't seen a fake GG7X ball though but I think the barcode is sunken. Both balls are now discontinued and have been replaced with new models though
@@SportsBallStu Correct - the real GG7X has a printed-on barcode over the pebbling and you can still feel the pebbling. The fake has the code flat-stamped into the ball, which obliterates the pebbling under the stamped area. I own both a real and a fake GG7X and the difference is pretty obvious.

I have asked our suppliers if they could show us a fake to compare. Non of them would like to admit that fake versions of their balls exist. Molten were the only ones but have only seen the BGM5X ball so far.
Since they both are doing the same job, are made with the same materials, who cares. You'll still play basketball with each. Longevity though is another matter
You make a valid point, enjoying basketball is paramount. It is the manufacturer’s credibility that is at risk though if the market gets flooded with fake balls, which wouldn’t be good for basketball. Thanks for taking the time to comment

Hi Bla Bla sorry to see you leave however, if the markings do not match what the manufacturer says should be on the ball then surely it is obvious it is a fake. If everything matches then assume it is genuine if purchased from official retailers as listed on the brands website (Not all brands have a list on their website though as they may also sell direct and choose not to promote other retailers, even though many have placed forward orders and have spent many years supporting that brand)

Do you sell original??
Hi Mike T
Yes we do sell the original but from 1st April 2020 a new range will be launched. If in the UK you can order online www.sportsballshop.co.uk or if overseas you can email sales@sportsballshop.co.uk with you address and what is required.
How about other basketballs, how could you tell if its fake
I have asked our suppliers if they could show us a fake to compare. Non of them would like to admit that fake versions of their balls exist. Molten were the only ones but have only seen the BGM5X ball so far.
I always get fake items dude
🤔😞😮
Since they both are doing the same job, are made with the same materials, who cares. You'll still play basketball with each. Longevity though is another matter
Fair point but longevity and protection of the brand is paramount
Or the world cup 2019 for a cheap price
I don't believe you will be able to find a new Molten worold cup ball as they sold out very quickly
It is nice!!
Thank you 👍
It doesn't matter if it is genuine or fake, just enjoyed playing basketball
You make a valid point, enjoying basketball is paramount. It is the manufacturer’s credibility that is at risk though if the market gets flooded with fake balls, which wouldn’t be good for basketball. Thanks for taking the time to comment
Yeah, a fleshlite is the same as the real thing.
Well the tbh the fake one was really take the look.. ...
Do they work the same? Lol
Hi Camry we didn’t test them to find out but the fake isn’t likely to be a good or reliable
Crap... Mine is fake
hello sir, im watching your channel for 1 year now. I like your contect but what u are u saying is nonsens like how can u tell from the side if its real or fake have a nice day im unsubscibing u now byee
Ignore people like blabla. They don't understand the value of your excellent instructional video (kudos by the way). Plus, they can't spell right, have crap punctuation, bad grammar, etc.😂
