I'm canadian and I never heard of people calling ham "Canadian bacon"
Every Canadian I know also calls it ham like I do 🤣
Same
Yup.
Yeah... "canadian bacon" is what we call small (3-4 inch) round slices of hamsteak in the USA lol. Usually seasoned with a touch of brown sugar and loads of butter. Its then pan seared, and then put on a breakfast sandwich with an english muffin, egg and cheese, or paired with pancakes or french toast.
I always thought Canadian bacon was back bacon, also called peameal bacon.
"Canadian Bacon" is what we call Peameal Bacon
As a Canadian, I can confirm that no one calls ham “back bacon”. It’s just ham.
Everyone in ontario does
Down here in Nova Scotia it’s two different things.

I find it funny how americans think we aren't allowed to have guns, I've been asked if it was even possible to own a firearm in Canada by an American online and I just said "no we can own guns we are just more responsible with them so you dont hear about shootings everyday."
Then he argued that the Claw hammer is the number one murder weapon in the US and gave me shit for being anti gun. Even though I own one.
Sometimes, yall make me go bruh

We have four seasons just like the US up here in Canada! We have Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction Season.
You forgot Winter (sorry)

-10 isn't even that cold eh?
My life has been divided between three Canadian cities. Halifax, Yellowknife and Victoria.

I remember going to a McDonald’s in NYC 4 years ago and asking them for a medium double double... the guy was like what? Double double? 🤣🤣
I wish in n out went global
My mom and grandma took my brother and I to Florida years ago. We went to a McDonald's for supper. They had the self serve drinks. I don't recall any of those in Canada at the time, but my mom was ordering and at the end she said "and two small pops." The guy was so confused. My mom said "you know pop...Soda pop." He finally clued in. He said he'd never heard that before. Just goes to show how Americans know absolutely nothing about us. I knew back then that Americans referred to it as "soda" and I was probably around 10 years old.

Ok, I'm Canadian and the Mounty police does technically exist but they never actually put the red uniforms on. The red uniforms are only worn and seen during special occasions (Like Canada Day) or on Parliament Hill for the tourists.
The red uniforms are thier dress uniform used for like you said special occasions. The military have their own versions of dress uniforms as well
@Nunovia Gottdamnedbizzness That hasn't been the case since the Canadian Constitution was signed in the 80s.
Well in some place they do walk around, but for real it's like looking for geicha in Japan eh?
You can fairly regularly see "actual mounties" in random parts of Toronto. Obviously just for show.
@@n0steeze Please tell me what you mean by "actual mounties"?

I believe it’d be called parade ground dress, though potato tomato.
I've never heard anyone say "aboot" instead of about in Canada and I've been here for 50 years.
I thought it was a stereotype too, having lived here my whole life. I've been to every province and territory with the exception of Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Nova Scotia (aside from a layover in NS for 4hrs so i'm not counting that as a trip) and have actually heard people say "aboot" due to their accent in certain places. Specifically in the Yukon; they 100% say "aboot." I've heard that certain parts of the maritimes have people saying it there, too due to their accents. I caught a few "aboot"s out in Newfoundland when i was there as well.
"Aboot" is a way to mock the accent. I do know that the "u" in "about" is stretched and strengthened more by Canadian speakers (whereas in the US, the "u" is very soft).
@@ZhangtheGreat Well, I guess we do like our U here in Canada as we use it in words like favour, neighour, colour, honour.
I have never heard that either. I was born in Toronto and still live close by. I am 74.

Also I think Canada is one of the only countries (if not the only country) where there is so much diversity of cultural backgrounds without that much tensions.
America is the same way actually.
Heraldo Jacques You're right. I'm Canadian but I've lived in other countries that are not multicultural at all. I love that we are here in Canada, and that we're pretty chill and you get the chance to meet cool new people, eat awesome food from around the world, and just generally open your mind about things. It's awesome.

OceanBlue ya just ignore the fact that the healthcare in the USA isn’t free, anyone immigrating to the country probably won’t be able to afford a doctor visit. You also can’t ignore the horrible racism in America immigrants face. Canada is the much better choice for any immigrant. This is coming from someone who has much personal experience.
Number 10
It’s not winter all the time
That’s right they have a whole month dedicated to summer
Actually, the majority of Canada’s populated areas often receive summer temperatures (21C+) between mid-May and mid-September... Or four months.
Even while I lived in Yellowknife, located in the high north, summers were hot and dry. From mid-June through mid-August, the daily high temperature regularly topped 25C. Unfortunately, October through April features a daily average temperature around -40C.
At least the summers are great...
I live in Ontario and it’s basically 5 months of summer it’s so warm.
3 months
4 months of summer
Where I'm from in Canada, there's like 4-almost 5 months of summer. During the summer it usually gets like 28-33C
HAPPY CANADA DAY TO ALL MY FELLOW CANADIANS ❤️🇨🇦
And Memorial Day in Newfoundland
Happy Dominion Day
What is Canada Day?
Ricky, it was yesterday and it actually called dominion day
Dominion day celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, coming into force of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada
Dogsteeves thank you, that was interesting to hear. Canada is a beautiful place. I've only seen Vancouver.
I love being Canadian, except when my countrymen get all offended at the jokes and funny stereotypes. No Canadian has ever said "aboot", but it's funny. It's called a sense of humour, eh.
Oh and... sorry for Justin Bieber.
Lol we talked about this we disowned justin bieber lol
hah yeah we gave him to the usa
Bieber is now rightfully American. We won the game fair and square.
Apologizing is the first step of being an asshat
I don’t think they’re funny, I just can’t relate 🤷🏻♀️ And it doesn’t mean that if I can’t laugh at someone making fun of my country and my culture, I have no sense of humour, it is just a matter of principles.
"its not winter all the time" people in the territories: am i a joke to you?
I LOVE CANADA 🇨🇦 🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹
Canada fact: not liking maple syrup is a crime punishable with death by angry moose in all provinces
In Ontario we drop them into a big tub of maple syrup and then feed them to the beavers
I can't even imagine a person who can say NO to maple syrup. That's just not natural.
In smaller places we get mounty police to lock up them in a small room and make them hear aboot for 23 hours straight. Eh?
They’ll never find me 😈
In Alberta, we boil them alive in maple syrup, then we throw their bodies into the freezing river to be eaten by beavers and fish.

The R.C.M.P. is the main police force for large portions of Canada. They are not used exclusively for federal issues. Ontario has its own provincial police force and several of the larger cities have set up their own police force, as well but most of Canada is policed by the R.C.M.P.

I think Canadians should keep using the “u” in honour, colour, favourite, etc. and centre, kilometre and not use it the way Americans use it. I like it better like that!
Jim Shade46 Because we use much of the same things as the rest of the world. Metric system and Celsius are good examples. Spelling goes with it. The U.S are the only ones that are different. It makes life annoying for everyone.

Hello from the garden city
#1 WE'RE NOT AMERICANS
Then why do you live in North *America?*
yes you Are Americans , just not in the USA
how stupid are you? lmao
Restless Changes to Positivity
You misunderstood what I said.
You are North Americans generally, but you are Canadians specifically.
It’s like calling the people who live in Europe European when you want to reference that entire area of people, but they are specifically more than that.
There’s many kinds of people who live in those areas. English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Irish, Scottish, Swedish, etc..
What if you want to use a word that references them all in a conversation?
You use the general landmass that they live on, which is Europe, hence the word “European”.
The same principle applies to Canadians and every single group of people out there.
Restless Changes to Positivity
Wow, who knew you could trigger Canadians by generalizing them as “North American”?
Oh, Canada! XD
As a Canadian I can that that these are pretty accurate

The stereotype of Canadians being polite is true. They are very cordial people. Another positive trait is that Canadians are a very calm people. Whereas Americans will fly off the handle for the most meaningless of things, Canadians remain calm and keep a clear head. I've always said that Canada is the United States, but done correctly.
William Hild you haven’t met some parts of Saskatchewan yet. Mostly around Kindersley.
William Hild: Repeating a false stereotype doesn't make it true. My experience from living in both countries us that Canadians are more likely to fly off the handle.
I believe these stereotypes get based off the face of our country. Justin Trudeau is calm and reasonable while Donald Trump can be sexist, racist and childish. Its one of the reasons we have these leaders to represent our country.
@@saschavonenckevort3932 What specifically has Donald Trump done that is 'sexist', 'racist', and 'childish'? Please look up 'specifically' in the dictionary before you respond with a load of generalized B.S.
