      In my opinion this is one of - if not THE - best acted scenes in the entire show. It's insane how much he conveys with just his eyes, he was literally less terrified when Tyrion killed him.
      All the actors on the show are incredible, but Charles Dance as Tywin is something else, with his mere presence demanding respect at all times.
      I can't think of another instance where he lost a power struggle and didn't (couldn't) even attempt to regain control, assert his dominance or at the very least appear unfazed.
      A scared, speechless and defenseless Tywin was amazing to witness. It's like imagining The Hound becoming a motivational speaker or something haha.

It was as if , as long as neither one of the two told him , it was like it was ( almost, not quite ) alright.. and also , he wasnt gonna believe it, until one of them did just that. You had to know, it would be her, and why not ?? He also didn't want to hear it for obvious and several reasons.. it was like, it couldn't and wouldn't be true otherwise. And as long as his ears didn't actually hear the words themselves, he could live in his own little " private hell " , and nobody's the wiser, if you will..personally, I think it had little to do with legacy ( I mean, as far as he was concerned ) and more about, idk.. to me, maybe he wanted to somehow, try anyway, to make amends ??? If she didn’t inherit her father’s hatred for Tyrion and let him figure out that it was Olenna then Tyrion never would’ve been pushed to kill Tywin himself. And if Tyrion hadn’t killed Daddy Lannister, there’s no way Ellaria would’ve killed Myrcella. AND if Tyrion had been allowed to figure out the Tyrells were behind Joffrey’s death, Cersei wouldn’t have been pushed to reform the Faith Militant to undermine them and Tommen would be alive too

      they wouldnt b considered incest because just like real life nobles, most houses mated with their cousins. Not but so many kings and queens to go around

    Tywin is to smart to have never figured it out on his own, he just ignored it because he didnt want to accept it. He had likely known for years but simply could never face that truth.

    I have said it before and I may say it again. The actor who plays Tywin is such a beast, basically no words and he conveys so very much with his expression... No shouting, jumping or other crap, such a pleasure to see such acting.

    Well written scene where Tywin wants to say the last word but is too tied up in emotions regarding Jaime and Cersie he has always suppressed to utter a last word.

    Tywin always knew. He just denied it.
    Anyone who spent a significant amount of time with the two and actually paid attention would know, and while Tywin was by no means a good father, he was still a perceptive man. Trust me, he has known for a VERY long time.

  • @09stoneheart
    @09stoneheart 14 дней назад +2

    Tywin's denial is related to his pride in wanting Jamie, the son he raised himself, to be his heir. He hated Tyrion for being his only option after Jamie joined the Kings Guard and put all his efforts into reserving that circumstance. Meanwhile, he shut out Jamie and Cersei's obvious relationship.
