    I'm going to see her in the Fall of 2024, this year, and every performance I watch of hers makes me so incredibly excited to see her!!! Because it doesn't look completely like a gimmick. There's a rich and textured sound underneath all of the theatrics and some really nice intonation (as a violinist myself, I would hope I can spot good examples🤣) and, while you can't really know what someone sounds like off of videos until you hear them live, whenever my "gut" kicked in and told me someone was going to be spectacular, I was usually right. For example, in the Fall of last year, it was Alexander Malofeev who held an entire concert hall in the palm of his young hand as he guided us through a true tour de force of pianistic perfection. This time it's Shostakovich's 1st Concerto, but if we look at her interpretations of Ligeti and Ravel, among others, I'm sure she'll give us her unique "spin" on it😉

      She can play the violin extraordinarily well. She has technique to burn. Just because she chooses to burn it, a risk no other violinist takes, doesn't mean she can't play the violin...

      Very few violinists have the timbrical control and diversity she has.
      Her technique is impeccable for her artistic aims.
      Music is a performing art, many conventionally trained musicians seem to be unaware of that. Fortunately there are more and more who are willing to shake up the scene.

      I've seen her perform Stravinsky live and she is actually an astoundingly good violinist. Why she feels the need to play this stuff though God knows

    • @leonardoiglesias2394
      @leonardoiglesias2394 Год назад

      @@adambe1126 it all depends how educated your ears are….she is a bluff. People cant listen….they love only the show…the excentricity…oh something else, not only violin playing like a Julia Fischer, a Frank Peter Zimmermann or a James Ehnes…but enjoy her if you can.

    • @leonardoiglesias2394
      @leonardoiglesias2394 Год назад

      @@simonrodriguez4685so we will throw away all our Heifetz, Szeryng, Brendel and Arrau records…they were all only instrumentalists…not „performers“….
      All the ones who are „shaking up“ the scene are going to disappear in 3, 4 years from now. Performing is much easier than playing like Szeryng or Arrau, which is impossible if you are thinking of visual circus…
