    Funny thing I was in a Toyota dealership last week and I walked up to a Tacoma and this music just started playing in my head as well.

    Beautiful truck. They nailed the looks inside and out. I shall miss the V6 but not the gear hunting of the old gen. I think I wait for the hybrids and then turn in my 2022 for a new one.

    What steps were installed on this one? They don’t look like any on the accessory list?

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  5 месяцев назад +1

      They were installed at the Southeast distribution center so I don't think they are listed on Toyota's website. Not sure of the brand but maybe call the dealership and ask.

    Nice video, thank you! Please include payload number in your videos. What was the MSRP? Toyota got a lot of things right with the Tacoma and it is sharp! So far, I am disappointed in the lack of payload. The gas tank is also too small for towing duties. It is also missing features (for cost cutting) such as rear AC vents, no rear arm rest, insufficient charging ports in the rear, etc. I love that you can get it with a 6’ bed, but does it have 1,500 lbs of payload to support the extra bed space? Nice truck, but not sure it is the right truck for me.

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  5 месяцев назад +1

      Payload is at about 1700 pounds which is more than Chevrolet Colorado or Nissan Frontier. It is not a heavy duty truck and for those looking for that extra capacities Tundra is fairly close in price.

    • @deanmay338
      @deanmay338 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@MattTheCarguy 1,709 is the “max” payload on a “properly” configured Tacoma. I want to know the “real world” payload on individual trucks. The few videos that I have seen have that share the payload for that specific Tacoma truck is about 1,200 lbs. That will not work for my needs. My current midsize SUV has 1,157 lbs of payload. I want a truck, mid-size preferably, that will have about 1,500 lbs of payload. I will put a topper on the truck, so I need at least 1,400 lbs to equal the capacity of my current SUV (1,157 plus 250 lbs for the topper). Previous generation Tacomas have been weak on payload. The new gen is supposed to be better, but what I am seeing is only a marginal improvement. I talked to a young guy in the Target parking lot last week with a new GMC Canyon Elevation. He had no idea what his payload was, LOL. I had him read the yellow sticker on the driver door frame. Just over 1,600 lbs. Impressive!!! I am buying at the end of 2024. By then, I will have a better handle on the Tacoma’s real world payload.

    • @rally6824
      @rally6824 5 месяцев назад

      The trailer was also much bigger than the taco making it a wind sail, I tow a 2k lb trailer with my 17 tundra and get 8mpg, and non towing only 12 so I’ll take the fuel savings on regular driving , also the trailer was 50% of its tow capacity so not really light for truck

      Standard: Composite bed.
