Rating - 10/10 - Oh My Days! This episode had me so pumped from start to finish! I freaking loved it. The girl power in this was awesome & having them all work together made my heart so damn full of joy!!! I've later been told this was a backdoor pilot episode & the fact this wasn't made a thing is blasphemy! I do a thorough breakdown of the episode at the end of this reaction & I reeeeally hope you enjoy it :D

I am so confused.. like.. why aren't Sam,Dean,Lucifer etc then dreamwalkers? They have other selves in other dimensions too.
And what about the dreamwalker dude then? He visited more than one other place,so was he born in like 10 different dimensions? o-O
It might be that only a small percentage of alt dimension people become dream walkers and their abilities are variable.
i wish that CW picked up Wayward Sisters.

if anyone hasn't said it to you yet, Dakara, this episode was made to be a spinoff. didn't get picked up, like the Bloodlines episode way back in S9.
Unfortunately. This would've actually been a good spinoff compared to bloodlines 😑💀
honestly I liked them both. the faction vs faction of monsters in Bloodlines was a cool concept, and it could have been really good since we have always known good monsters in SPN existed. Castiel, Benny, and even Crowley (to an extent) being a prime examples. the set up was there to be something, but it was a shame CW denied it.
Wayward Sisters had so much potential as a spinoff, with developed fan favorites like Jody, Claire, Donna, and Alex. with the addition of Patience. it coulda been something really great.
@@SoupBoi96 imo Bloodlines really didn´t need any association with SPN.
The concept was interesting and could have worked without throwing Sam and Dean in there to make it a Spin off. I think if it stood on it´s own it would have been received better instead of relying on SPN to kinda push the concept.
I think Dakara mentioned it back then too, it felt super disconnected.
For Wayward Sisters... yeah that one is just sad. We know some of the characters for years, and it would have worked really well, I think
@@SoupBoi96 Bloodlines didn't make sense as a spinoff, because the characters were just introduced in one episode. Wayward Sisters would've been great as the characters were already fan favorites.

Yes Dakara, when I heard that this was shaping up to be a spinoff I was excited. When they made their final decision on not going through I was so disappointed. It would have been an awesome show
This was meant to be the spearhead for a Wayward Sisters spinoff but the idea eventually got rejected, it's a real shame because this was a great episode.
I keep forgetting Jodie was the mom from zack and cody xD
This was a plan for a spinoff of all of them, it didn't go anywhere but it would have been cool to see.
I freakin love this episode, the characters and the story and every time I watch it my heart breaks that the spin-off got cancelles at the last minute, because some idiot CW execs thought that the SPN universe only works with Sam and Dean and because Kim and Briana were "too old" to lead a series. They already had their social media pages set up and everything and someone revealed they would have included cameos of character like Cas, Mary or Rowena in WS. Kim Rhodes pitched the show to a lot of other TV stations after that but they all refused. All the actors were sad and Bobo Berens too (watch out for him throwing shade at the higher-ups in his episodes).
Kathryn Newton got the gig in the detective pikachu movie after this though, but she was still sad the show never got made.

I always took it to be a case of Alt-Kia and Original-Kia being linked because they are both such strong dream walkers, and that's the reason Kia always went to the Bad Place. It's also how Alt-Kia was able to open her rift. I think Alt-Kia was dream walking in our dimension while our Kia was visiting hers, so Alt-Kia has a bit of a heads up on our reality. It's such a pity the CW didn't pick up this spin-off, all these women worked so well together, and the dynamics between them would have been so interesting. By the way, did you notice that apart from the two werewolves in the cold open, the ONLY men in the episode were Sam and Dean, everyone else was a woman, including the nurse at the hospital.

@@JohnWinchester3567 I wasn't talking about Alex, I was talking about the nurse she was talking to.
I mean it's hard to add more men to this episode when it wouldn't have fit in. Those monsters could potentially have been men,we just can't tell. But other than them there weren't really any people in the episode besides all our already established characters anyway so there was literally no space for any dudes to show up.
Agreed going in that world, knowing such creatures or worse, are there.. Going in to 'rescue' the boys, UNHARMED, except a knife, was ludicrous!
true but that was the point. Claire wouldn't have learned her lesson otherwise. That's why she said at the end to Jody that she was reckless,that she now gets why everyone is always worried about her. Exactly because she rushes in without a plan,without a proper weapon,just like "I will do this SOMEHOW" which got her girl friend killed in the process.
and there we have it.... what was a backdoor pilot to a potential series with Jodi-O, D-train, and the Wayward sisters.... I really enjoyed this concept and so wanted it to come to fruition, (and still hope that it still might, but the longer time goes on, less so)... it was tough with the Claire character in her "Deanesque bullheaded mode", but liked how the character progressed to the point she was at at the end... and with alt Kaia here, it'll be interesting to see where this goes.... always great to get a Dakara treat to start the week..... 3 CTU's for you today, and as always, keep em coming!
Claire is nothing no Dean. Dean can be stubborn but flexible. Claire is selfish, bratty and infantile.
Also about the ship, they are definitely canon as I commented before the author and creator of the characters was fully on board, aren't they adorable comparing scars? and Kaia is great for Claire! she grounds her and wants to protect her and be better for her, and Kaia found someone who understands her and to share her life with, I think the symbology there with Dark Kaia is that she was starting to let herself feel and open up that the dark side of her was shutting that down because she was scared of being vulnerable, so ya I wish we could have had more of that because I love them ; __ ;
Oh, just a quick comment to everyone who didn't know. This episode was welcomed wholeheartedly by me and the intensity mixed with the emotional stakes makes it such a delight to re-watch. You saying that you shouldn't ship anyone because evidently, it doesn't seem to go well in this universe, yep...my exact mood with Kaia and Claire as well but Claire's growth and change in views because of losing Kaia is truly appreciated. Then, just separately, adore Jody and Donna- Donna is truly a warm, badass, ray of sunshine and then the side of Jody shown with their dynamic is heartwarming like anything; her parental side...i completely understand your want to get a hug from Kim cause...that just seems incredible.
Lastly, yes, it is an utter shame that the 'Wayward Sisters' wasn't picked up but, i just love this episode so much for the further show-case of how amazingly the family branches of Supernatural have stretched that there are these fearless women who would do anything to come to save the Winchester brothers because they did that for them. So this ep, if nothing else, is something that brings a smile cause the family has strengthened and that i can always find some comfort in and now, so can Claire. Also, i completely understand your frustration with Claire's recklessness, especially from the view of a mother and worry for Jody, i think where my mind goes first with her are the parallels in her with Dean but if he didn't have Sam. Now, both of them have different tragedies that they borrowed inside them to keep moving and they impacted them individually but Claire, she didn't have a constant partner- (her mom also left to find a father that she remembers getting permanently possessed)- so, when she can't trust Jody, it breaks my heart but i can't help myself from thinking that this would also be a path Dean may have chosen if not for Sam and then Cas. So, i understand but nonetheless, I'm glad you're enjoying this season so far and I'm excited for you to witness the shenanigans that unravel further.

Woah, double standards. Claire acts like Dean, although not as reckless and she's a kid not an 'adult' like him, yet your done with her. Also, don't forget Kaia was only there because Dean threatened to kill her, the life of yet another child so that he can get what he wants. Added to this at least Claire shows that she is maturing and recognises her error straight away and talks to Jody about it unlike Dean who would probably mope for weeks and take it out on everyone around him.

I'm sorry I DON'T ship Kaia and Claire, not because they probably couldn't make a cute couple down the line, but because it's rushed, and forced. Claire barely knew Kaia for what half a day maybe? (Because we see it goes from night to day) And these two aren't the talking type especially with new people...So sorry if I find it hard to believe Claire loves this girl so much she suffers the lost for months, just don't make sense I'm sorry. 😒 Claire knew Alex and Jody for months and still didn't open up to them showing how hard it is for her to do that, hell years later she's awkward when it comes to them and they're her family. I just don't buy she opened up to some stranger in a few hours, and she suffers from her death for months later like she was dating her for weeks at least, it's stupid writing in my opinion and why I'm not for the ship.
For me the show's writing got worse since S11's ending. The show never reached the highs it used to have in the beginning, everything feels more forced and less impactful. Kaia was a pointless character and so was her dark twin or whatever that one was, poorly written characters acting like they were important when you could have just cut them out of the show. I mean they could have gotten another way to get to the Apocalypse World.
I think the reason Claire opened up to Kaia quicker was because she saw herself in her how she used to be aka distrustful,scared,traumatized, like nobody gets her, they both were put into facilities against their will to "help" them.
There were a lot of parallels and they were shown bonding over their scars which built a connection between them.
The reason Claire didn't open up to Jody and Alex is because she only fought with Alex to begin with AND was envious of her because it seemed like Alex was Jodys new daugther and that she herself had no place with them. And while Jody was nice to her, she couldn't relate to her and likely felt that Jody wouldn't really get her.
Since Kaia went through similar stuff,it was easier to form a bond. They're also both feisty,stubborn and fighters which in this case worked out well.
My guess is the reason why it impacted Claire so much that Kaia died (in a way because of her) is because Kaia was super scared but trusted her and she let her down.
She likely has nightmares of the "I am going to protect you" and then Kaias dead body just staring at her,holding her hand.
It's this "what have I done?!" moment that you can't take back no matter how much you wish you could and it's the first time her recklessness is directly staring back at her.
If it wasn't for Kaia,that on the ground would have been her and she knows not only that but that it could've been avoided all together if she just hadn't been so stupid.
That's why she said "I understand why you are like this to me now" to Jody.
Not sure how far it's shipable but it IS understandable at the very least and not that terrible in terms of writing as some make it out to be..at least in my opinion.
Just before the hood reveal, I also assumed/hope it was Charlie

Claire's family saved Sam and Dean!!! They need other people! They need other family around them! Having other people saves them and that makes me emotional and they have people that love them ; ____ ;
Dark Kaia!! think of kind of the episode with bad Charlie and good Charlie, but as has been said before, this was supposed to be about the spin off :( it would have been interesting to see that develop in a whole season, the bad part of yourself killing the good one..
And I love love Claire and Jody's conversation, finally some acknowledgment by Claire, she had to learn the hard way but she will improve she is really a softie on the inside and she loves her family. And that's why I love her she has the potential to have a great character development and really grow a lot from her mistakes and become a wonderful hunter and person.
The spin off was a great idea, I'll always love this episode so much. And it was good to see your excitement for it :)

Now, that's how you do a backdoor pilot! Too bad it didn't get picked up. The guy who runs the network said that they really loved the characters of Wayward Sisters, but they didn't feel like the show was creatively where it needed to be this year, & they felt that Legacies was stronger, so they went with that. He also said that he hoped the characters would be back on Supernatural & he left the door open for them to work on it more. Personally, I enjoyed the episode a lot & I would've checked out the show to see how it developed. The whole invaders from another dimension thing was the only bit I was skeptical about, which considering it's Supernatural was odd, maybe it was the whole evil version bit, but I still would've loved to have explored it. Thanks for the Monday serotonin boost, hope your week has started well.

Might have to do with the fact that most of the people that Sam and Dean know that are still alive are all women, in regards to ''normal'' civilian people. Guys like Cas and Jack don't count since they were never humans to begin with.
I loooove this episode, again robert berens ( the writer) writes my favorite episodes, this season is one of my absolute favorites, claire & kia were so cute, this show punishes u for shipping anything, i am still so mad we didn't get wayward sisters the spin off, i would've loved that so much, i love these characters so much, alex & claire remind me of sam & dean, Alex is definitely a sam, claire is a young dean, kia told claire "I will go with u" which is what cas always says to dean 😭, jody & Donna 🥺, the cw just couldn't handle too many awesome women, great reaction, dakara 👏😍
i'm not sure any other show could side-line its 2 main characters and still have a good episode, Supernatural has done it a few times

I´m still mad they didn´t make this spinoff.
I guess some people probably got a bit annoyed by the "female empowerment/feminism" vibes this had, btu come on, this episode was awesome.
And I´m pretty sure Jody, Donna etc are fanfavourites.
And I would have loved to get an entire series with Jody and her fosterfamily in the focus, instead of the 2-3 episodes every season where we occasionally see glimpses of their dynamic.
It's better getting episodes like this instead of a spinoff. A spinoff would ruin them and make them boring
@@russellballard6473 How would you know that? This episode was pretty great, and if they would have gotten their own series there is no evidence why the writing for the characters suddenly should have gotten worse.
@@Beny763 I gave the episode a chance and it failed for me. Patience and Kaia are not characters I care about and they feel heavily forced into the story. They have no connections with any of them and the whole Claire/Kaia thing felt forced she only met this chick for a day and all of a sudden she's in love with her. Plus it felt boring given how much it dragged the story to get to the boat and sending Claire and Kaia in felt stupid considering Kaia agreeing to help find Sam and Dean feels out of nowhere given she didn't want to be involved in this, but now wants to save 2 dudes she knows nothing about. Plus Kaia didn't do much entering the Bad Place and somehow she couldn't just tackle Claire to the ground to avoid the spear. There's just too much illogical things they do that make this episode lifeless to me. Plus it doesn't help I thought the writing for the show already depreciated since S11's ending so I doubt this spin-off would give new life to the dying SPN show.

This episode was supposed to become a spin off from supernatural. However the CW decided to continue with the originals spin off Leagues. Honestly I would have rather had this spin off other then Leagues. Love this episode very much, it was like the side kicks become the heros and the heros become the side kicks.

This was a MUCH BETTER spin-off than bloodlines dakarajayne. Alas it still didn’t happen because even badass characters like Jodi or Claire could have spin-offs.
Kaia dying was ALL on Claire, I have literally no sympathy for her, she is so arrogant and selfish, Kaia is one thing having a connection with someone, but Claire should’ve been the one to not put her in clear danger trying to be Supergirl
Ugh....this is an old record, but maybe THIS time she’ll learn....but idk, I just don’t like her character
I say its Kaia's fault for even going in, why would she help some random dudes she never met before? Plus why help Dean given he forced her to help? I'm not a fan of Kaia's character or her poorly acted evil twin (both aren't acted well to me), but honestly, it was an excuse to kill her off. I really wished they made character deaths matter, because this death just felt stupid. Jody should have went in given she has more experience, but hey send the girl who has no fighting experience, but sort of knows the world.

@@ninjanibba4259 I would say it's both faults. Kaia was written to die so she died. Then again I could not care about her so...I don't feel anything. At least Ellen and Jo's deaths made you feel bad, this is just laughably bad.
I like Alex more than Claire given Alex does act like a better daughter to Jody plus that connection between Jody and Alex felt more real and developed to me anyway in her introduction episode. Donna and Jody would make sense, and adding in Alex would make it a nice trio. Patience can be killed off for all I care, Missouri felt more interesting anyhow.
@@chaitanyatanamala1464 if jody went instead,they would've NEVER found Dean and Sam in time. Kaia was the only one who knew where to go so she had to come. And Jody stayed because the others were screaming for help. The only really dumb move was to go in there without any proper weapons besides a tiny ass knife.
Claire is the hero and center peice of this episode
I dislike Dark Kaia to no surprise, 😆. I mean come on, I am supposed to believe a girl who built like that, been stuck in that world this whole time some how knows advance martial arts with a spear, and can easily take both Sam and Dean who's we've seen take out trained soldiers, and monsters none stop. Dean I might add has been in a similar situation in being trapped in Purgatory and you don't see the monsters there knowing how to fight so bad ass they beat him left and right. It was the most cringy thing I ever saw on this show, and what actually made me dislike parts of this season.
It's called survival. She's learned to survive.

Plus her motivations moving forward make no sense at all given they keep changing what she wants, plus Dark Kaia is no different from regular Kaia, the acting (not the best acting in my honest opinion) is the same and its just they gave her a dark robe and fighting skills and somehow that's enough to say they are different.
@@JohnWinchester3567 It still makes absolutely NO sense that she would be able to lift and push TWO GUYS that are taller,stronger,more muscular,heavier and at least equally trained. That's physically not possible and from what we've seen she didn't have any other power that would've allowed her to do more. It was just a super thin girl with a spear.
