Fantastic! Looking forward to more of your videos this coming year!
Wow, Bob! This is so true! If you have the right timing in your fingers, then you can almost play anything. Or you can at least move a lot more «out» from the tonallity in many situations. This was sooo inspiring! Thanks 🎉
👊 👍
Yes! I first learned this from you a while back…then saw MB write notes to himself on this in his practicing notes that was published not too long ago. One application for me, is I have trouble with fast lines. So, I slow them down (bpm = 60) and sometimes find this kind of percussive practice is very helpful in assisting me to straighten things out and play even and rhythmic. After all, the rhythm is in the fingers!! 😎
All the little details that make you Great!
we used to do this as a saxophone section in college to unify time feel, esp on solis, but on other stuff too.
Great for arpeggios too. Each gives a different time feel …. 🙏🏻
It sounds surprisingly musical!
Wow, I'm jealous. I wish my instrument sounded that tight. Bob's repairman is top notch!
☮️🎶🎵🎷
Super cool, would that be also helpful with scales?
sure. but try playing them descending, so you're starting with all fingers resting on the keys/pearls. then you're pushing each key down, as opposed to raising fingers up (to which there is no definitive stop point, which leads to "flying fingers")
Hello, do you hang around between sets at the baked potato? I’m going to your next one and I’d love to meet you!!
What would some good rhythms be to practice?
Stick control book( with a metronome)is great for this.. just my two cents
Good stuff! Everything’s a drum, right?
Hi Bob, what‘s your current mouthpiece???
Used to be Otto Link Tone Edge.
Thankx- but his old OL „died“ and he was looking for a new one.
still looking. this video actually IS my old Link (that still *sadly* doesn't feel right). I'm going between a few different Links and a few GetASax Slant and Reso customs.
Thanks for Your Information ❤
Did you ever play metal ones? Any reasons why maybe not?
Should you swing the fingers?
I’ve got my flams down pat 🥴.
First. Great video. ❤👌🤓
