    This sounds like when you play two RUclips songs at the same time, in different tabs, at just the right spot so that it sounds like the band members are trying to play while balls high.

    People saying you can't dance to it, you don't have to dance to the rhythm. You can dance along with the melody. Especially if you listen to it a lot and are very familiar with it.

    As an enlightened individual with an IQ of 167, the drudgery of simple 4/4 and 6/8 time signatures doesn't stimulate my mind. Polyrhythmic Synth Jazz is the only genre I have found that actually provides nourishment to a brain like mine, starved by the vacuous din of modern pop music.

    Most songs have three, four, or sometimes two or six beats in a measure.
    Others, like this song, for reasons known but to God, don't. 9/8 is known as Compound Triple Time, and if you can dance to it, you can win your town's local magic competiton.

      step one: don't be a human
      step two: possibly be a robot
      step three: program yourself to get a new movement everytime the rhytm changes but never sometimes else(another idea would be to pick a specific very long time signature and do a movement only each time the end of said time signature overlaps with the music)
      step four: ???
      step five: nothing, cause nobody's gonna like it, but at least you'll be proud of it, hopefully.

    • @lloydthehuman6922
      @lloydthehuman6922 6 лет назад +10

      Dont try and count it in 4/4 and just listen to stuff like this... awhile lot. Lke I'm pretty bad with my time signatures and couldn't tell you what this is off the top of my head (although I will admit I'm a music student so it's still something I've been exposed to for a while) but swaying or nodding along to this feels pretty natural now

    • @Threeleggedyoyo
      @Threeleggedyoyo 6 лет назад +7

      Option 1) Listen for musical pulses and dance to that. Like a musical sentence that's being repeated, rather than a beat.
      Option 2) Dance in 4/4 or 2/2 with occasional "half" beats. You're never more than a half beat off... if you find you're wrong just stick another one in there (or the music itself will soon enough).

      @TAURELLIAN 7 лет назад +47

      The polyrhythms engage your brain because they're unpredictable and constantly changing. It keeps you listening for changes, as opposed to a 4/4 song with lots of predictable tropes
      Your brain is constantly trying to keep up and it's like a mind-game
      Check out djent if you're into metal at all :D

    • @iota-09
      @iota-09 6 лет назад +12

      the weird thing is that most math rock bands are unpredictable in rhythmics yet are very repetitive in both timbre and just general sound, which makes math rock one of the best genres for background activity music imho.
