I can see that a lot of people are angry at me for pointing out what I didn’t like on Himalayan 450.
I have created many videos where I have appreciated the Himalayan 450 to the core, I don’t see same people commenting positively over there.
I own this bike and I think I have every right to give out an opinion. I believe these opinions would help our new buyers who are researching out there.
Let me tell you all one thing frankly, I have loved this bike to the core. I have found this to be an amazing motorcycle. However just because I love it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t have an opinion about it. I have always given opinions on what I felt about the motorcycle since the inception. You can check out my other channel for reviews where you can see how I have been open about what I felt.
Anyways, we all are bikers and I believe we should love our bike with a pinch of salt.

i got my bike delivered this past sat.. covered 300kms…
I do agree with you at certain areas.
    Pain points (my view):
    1. Hex bolts- i don’t see that going to be a concern to 95% of the people, nor is it for me.
    2. Joy stick - Yes, definitely not easy to access if you have a medium or small sized palm. plus the sensitivity of it is a bit weird. so you need to get used to big time.
    3. Pass Light- rightly pointed out. very difficult to get adjusted as it’s implemented in a totally new location.
    4. No Brake light- Chalta hai!! nothing to complain i felt. In fact it’s cool to have something new. You wreck it , you definitely have to fix it. but yea it’s again fine.
    5. Headlight- looks Cool, but auxiliary lights will definitely be a must during night rides. Light throw is not that great…
    6. Mode change - Not sure if it’s an issue only on my bike. i cannot change the mode (eco to performance or vice versa) while on the go. it shows the msg that it can only be done after turning off n then turning ignition on.
    7. Phone on for Maps- Haha yes, that was strange. i did a 10mins map usage n my thigh was burning as my phone was heating up.
    8. Hanle black - this sexy paint scheme, which the Black being metallic, is definitely a scratch or swirl mark magnet (especially the tank being so wide in front of your eyes). Try to get a ppf done as soon as you get then bike. Just a tip 😇
Anyways .. these are just points for people who are interested to know the bike inside out.
Keep all this aside, Riding this machine definitely gives you a big bike feel .. it definitely is a machine that loves to rev (am just waiting to complete 500 km mark and get the first service done ). I strongly feel no one would regret picking this over any other bike… Happy Riding ! Cheers!!

Some follow-up Qs for perhaps your next videos/content: (I haven't seen any one addressing or touching these yet but eventually many will I assume).
    For Weight Reduction:
    1. Main stand is removable ? How much is tentative weight ? ~3-4 Kgs ? Ease of Removing.
    2. Saree Guard Weight ? Easily removable ?
    3. Anything else that is non-essentially and can be removed easily and helps with weight reduction ?
    Tuning.
    1. Engine feels strained or has further headroom for usage of after-market tunes from PowerTronics, etc ? If the stock tune is easy-going then perhaps the engine still has some breath left, plus its possible to bring the torque a bit early by cutting the top-end a bit.
    2. Any plans of Alloys on this ? Will they help reduce the weight ?
    3. Can the braking be further improved by using different brake pads, say sintered ones ? Or that's what they provide as stock ?
    4. Does it perform any differently on higher/lower octane fuel ? E20 vs 95 octane.
    5. Stock spark plugs ?
    6. For adjustable levers for clutch/brake, is it built in a way that value aftermarket mods can be made ?
    7. Can a change of Engine Oil offer difference in NVH ? Or RE is using the best one out there ? Motul/Liqui Moly at tims provide day/night difference to NVH and Heat.
    Last one:
    1. Is it feasible to replace the Stock 21 Inch Wheel at Front with Say 18 or 19" in Future ? This is just in case those who wished for a RE Scram 450 but can't hold their horses to end up buying Him 450.

Great set of questions bro 🙌

    • @omkarkhamkar9388
      @omkarkhamkar9388 7 месяцев назад +2

Loved to see that people are interested in diving deeper into this. I'll add a few things here..
1 - if you take a look at a few early news articles of the H450, bikewale had mentioned in one of them that the engine is capable of doing more but will be tuned to offer balanced performance and also long term reliability. Theres scope here, and I am sure there will be piggybacks offered soon.
2 - About the engine oil, RD suggests using semi-synthetic oil which it uses for its other bikes as well. I recently went to fully synthetic on my xpulse and the difference was sublime. Despite being a more viscous oil, the motorcycle's performance didn't seem to suffer. The bike feels more refined at around 100 kmph where earlier it complained. I haven't clocked a lot of kms.. but I am sure that it is a positive start. The RE oil has some positive reviews, but for better experience, I highly recommend switching to fully synthetic.
3- Coolant. Stock coolant can be replaced with better quality ones to prevent overheating. A cooler running engine means better reliability in the long run, along with better FE and overall performance.
4 - Regarding alloys, since the USD's are similar to that of the SM650 and the SG650, you can probably experiment with trying either ones if the fit the H450 too.
That's some of my findings.. let's see how this goes 😁

I took test ride of the bike few days before and the very first thing before even sitting on it was the side stand having too much tilt. The bike is tall and for shorter riders including myself this is a problem. But eventually will get used to it. I asked RE guys if they are providing any accessory side stand but they don't have any such accessory available. This is surely an issue.
iPhone cannot be used for navigation is also a little disheartening.
I don't mind the hex bolts. This cannot be said unfinished or bad work, but more of a choice as this is supposed to be a rugged motorcycle then a sophasticated one.
And yes the low end torque is not that good which is expected from this sort of engine.
Overall, I think you have pointed out things that other reviewrs should have. These are the actual issues that must be noticed.

  • @jayt2387

I plan to use a bike GPS instead of the tripper. I don't like the idea of my phone heating up as well as the battery drain, as you said. Also poor cell reception, esp. in remote places.
I searched for bike Garmin GPS a couple months ago on Amazon and other portals and found hardly any. I realized I would have to ask someone coming from US to get one for me.
I would rather put a bike GPS that uses satellite and connects power directly to bike battery. I'm one that gets lost all the time. I also look at nearby roads and stopping points constantly. For me a reliable navigation system is a must.
It's money I would rather not spend since the tripper is there. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by its utility.

    1. Mere Nothing Phone 2 me lock krne k baad bhi map dikhata rehta hai which is advantage for me,
To jo bhi H450 lene wala ho wo Nothing ka phone b le lena 😅,
    2. Side stand ka jyada tilt hona b logical laga kyuki iska weight itna jyada hai ki kai bar bike uthate wakt ulti disha me girne ka issue hua hai uss position se aap sirf bike utha satke hai girne ka chances kam ho jaye iss liye tilt side stand diya hai,
