    It's always nice to hear an unbiased review of kits like this. I know a lot of R&D can go into these kits but even so the quality and cost can be miles apart and even some high quality stuff is still over priced.
    Either way I'm a fan of honest reviews such as this 👍

    I bought the full blown kit from cx racing.
    The Bads -
    BOV - leaked - Replaced with HKS SSQV
    Waste gate - Didn''t even attempt to use it when pulling it out of the box (as mentioned in vid) - Replaced with Tial Sport
    Gaskets - used oil gasket for oil drain on turbo, big mistake unless you want a fire to start
    Bolts - Some of the hardware was very cheap and can easily be upgraded with stainless
    Turbo - Mine was smoking within first 1k miles and still does, but not extremely bad but gets the job done.
    Goods -
    All piping was on point very small amount of modification needed to get everyyhing to fit.
    Very comprehensive, nearly gives you everything required to boost your car (Items not included Injectors, MAF, Wideband, Retune)
    Turbo fitment was very very good under hood, almost looks factory (;
    Your experiences seem to line up with mine to the T.
    On a side note, what intake plenum is that? I have not came across a wedge style for the 325 e46s unless it was from ebay.

    Ive had my CXracing kit on my E36 for well over a year now. 0 issues.
    i didnt use the Bov, im using the wastegate, and i didnt use the turbo, i also have a random ebay turbo.
    soon ill be upgrading though. i recently purchased an RSI top mount, but there is nothing wrong with my CX manifold.
    no cracks. no weirdness. i LOVE the intercooler piping. its flawless. perfect fit, and really looks good with no extra silicone couplers.
    the intercooler in still using and have had 0 issues with but i too wanna upgrade to a treadstone.
    i also have their radiator and fanshroud. and where the rad and fanshroud are built nicely i wouldnt suggest it to anyone.
    get a better radiator. koyo has a bolt in rad that fits better and cools better too. (mines not leaking but i dont think i would buy the kit again)
    the fan is too big for the spacing you have, it rubs on the crank pulley.

    Hey thanks for the video! Got a few questions. If you had to get a different top mount manifold what would it be? Love the intake, what is the throttle body/ map and or maf situation and did you port the head? I have an Orient blue 330i looking to do this before my engine gets too high in mileage :P. Saw the recent pull and sounds like butter!!! Thanks again.

    • @hellrotgarage

    Your charge pipe is near the valve cover where the gasket is, that is a bad setup because it's gonna dry out the gasket faster. Nice intake manifold what brand and where did you get it?

    • @hellrotgarage
      @hellrotgarage  2 года назад

      How is a charge pipe going to hurt anything? Do you mean downpipe? And this os a aluminum m56 valve cover that also uses a different gasket than you are probably used to. I have issues at all. And its a PPF intake manifold for a m52b28

      @@hellrotgarage Oh, great that's awesome I was kinda thinking that too, but just went along with my 1st thought. My E46 sedan is a sedan 323i sedan with the M52TU it was bored out, with a HKS supercharger, E46 M3 injectors, Mishimoto radiator and intercooler as well as oil cooler. Einback coilovers, a tune on stock ECU all on stock internals and trans is a GM SMG with paddle shifters making maxed 450HP and some say it sounds similar to the E60 M5.

    Hey, i recently just found your channel. I'm driving an E39 with the M54B30... It's supercharged by infinitas, a well known tuner here in germany. The kit is making about 5-5.8 psi which is not alot so by their numbers it should be around 300HP.
    Now i want to do more, but from what i know, big tuners say you can safely run 400Hp and 11,6Psi (0,8bar). And the first thing that would break after that, will be the connecting rods bolts.
    On CX Racing website i read, that the kit makes 400-450HP.
    Would you say i can still run 450 HP safely and reliable with a stock engine? Like i also wanna drive Autobahn on full throttle for longer periods here in germany sometimesm but if i can avoid strengthening the engine at 450hp, that would make things easier and cheaper. Don't get me wrong, i dont want the engine to blow so if i have to strengthen it i will.
    Whats your opinion?

    • @hellrotgarage
      @hellrotgarage  2 года назад

      The first thing to fail will be ring lands or your head will lift. You can definitely make 450 safely but you need to be using e85 if you have access.

    Amazing content as usual. Would you recommend your or cx’s turbo kit or other kits over a level 2 active autowerke supercharger with the upgraded 70mm pulley 15mm smaller than the level 2’s 85mm. 13-14psi over 8-9psi I’ve been planning this out for awhile I was going to get the level 2 kit with 70mm pulley, Schrick Cams 248/256 “supercharger cams”, dbilas dynamic’ ITB intake with manifold. With this I was hoping to get 530+WHP(already got a full SuperSprint race exhaust with real ss headers) because on the forms a man made 516whp stock m54b30 on 14psi(turbo). Mine will behaving the cams and the itb intake for more flow and snappier response and hopefully that would make up for the parasitic lose with the supercharger vs his turbo set up. But I recently got your content recommended and is making me second guess myself what’s your thoughts?

    • @hellrotgarage
      @hellrotgarage  2 года назад

      Turbo all the way! Superchargers really are hard to make large gains off and especially if they don’t have an intercooler they are a horrible set up. You should try going SPA bottom mount. Look on beracingtuning.com
