Sister, you really need to understand the difference between the mazhab teachings which differs from Pakistan and Malaysia and Bangladesh etc. Malaysia predominantly follows the Shafie mazhab, that's why Malaysian Muslims do things differently than the Pakistanis or Bangladeshi or Saudis. Muslim women have some degree of equality in mazhab Shafie compared to other mazhab, that's all.
I am Malaysian and visited Pakistan alone last year. I traveled to the North and spent a few days in Islamabad and Lahore. The scenery was amazing, and the people were incredibly nice. I have never encountered a place where ride-hailing drivers (inDrive) refused to accept the fare, but I experienced that several times there. I literally had to leave the money on the car seat because the driver simply wouldn't accept it. It's unfortunate that the country is in such a state and its people have to endure it.

Sadly I have to agree with everything you said about Pakistan especially what you said about being a lone female. We men obviously don’t have that issue. I’m thinking of visiting Pakistan again soon, after 10 years, to explore it a bit more whilst I still have good health. My current position is that I still love living in the UK (away from London). Born, raised and lived all my life here but in my early 50s now and in need of more sunshine so exploring other places including Turkey next week.
For some reasons (not wanting to sound racist), pakistanis (and indians) moved to other countries and tried to run things ( on how it was in their countries). They should appreciate the changes in lifestyle in other countries and embraced them. Otherwise .....
Yup that's the funniest thing about those people, they ran away to other countries because their own country failed them, yet they want the country that they ran away to, to behave exactly like the country they ran away from 😂
😂😂 and recently there are a few indian india tourist at batu cave taking picture with a white girl that happen to be a tourist too, and she thought they are locals that never saw a white women before 🤦♀️. * please..... our local indian never do that!
@@amymin9210If those white women thought they are locals, then it reflects on the west's utter ignorance of people's and culture. Just have to blame themselves for being backward but thinking they are forward.
Our family wanted to shift to Pakistan and saw progress when Imran khan was in power. We thought Pakistan was about to turn a corner. However, in the past 2 plus years it regressed to end of 70’s and 80’s dictatorship. We decided to stay put in the US. Now, we are trying to sell our home in Karachi DHA and can’t. 😢
My first experience meeting with my friend's father was uncomfortable because he liked to stare. My friend's father is Pakistani living in Malaysia for a few generations already that he no longer can speak Pakistani. After got to know him, he is very nice man.
I was told by a Pakistani tour guide, when i was travelling in Pakistan last year, that woman are not allowed to pray in mosques. Once my friends and I prayed (all of us are ladies) in National Mosque of Islamabad, the Faisal Mosque. There were so many Pakistanis visiting the mosques as tourists and almost everyone watched us praying as it is a strange thing to do. And 1 more thing, there is no 'surau' available at Lahore Airport. We just prayed inside an abandoned commercial premise while waiting to check-in.
Masjid under ahle Hadith allows sis. I can also perform Friday prayer and Terawih prayer was excellent since Imam is a hafiz . Completed the Quran. Alhamdulilah
As a Malaysian female....i love watching pak drama series..... why wasnt i shocked at yr experience at the bazaar...bcoz its a very male dominant society...which i gathered frm the drama series...its a pity to see the females in pak r so constricted all bcoz of the goons
I had the same experience in Pakistan when i was 14. I am Malaysian. Went to anarkali bazar lahore and men staring, touching my hand. Today i am married to a Pakistani living in Malaysia. Yes even today nothing has changed
Smiled when I heard you said "surau" as it is a Malay word (I think) and yes, there are "surau" even in shopping malls and MRT stations. Oh, the topic about "women" in Malaysia/South East Asia might deserve it's own exclusive post, as many from the west might think the worse. (edit) : just did a brief homework, the word "surau" comes from Minangkabau language (Sumatera, Indonesia & most of Minang community in Malaysia resides in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia)
@timeaftertime-om7os i hv been to quite many places in Indonesia, at that time. Need to explain to them what is surau. The term they used overthere is Musolla.
talking about touching in particular... i actually saw firsthand in Malaysia, one Pakistani man trying to do the same to a malay sister who work in the courier industry and that really gives a bad reputation to South Asian man in particular. She feel disgusted and i feel disgusted by that because of how uncommon that is to happen in Malaysia. Culturally the man and woman don't get too familiar with each other like that. you know even the act of handshakes between man and woman is rare unlike in Indonesia. so being perverted like that really makes us wary. Hence sometimes racism towards south asian (man in particular) is shared between locals. racism as in *avoiding* them, not targeting people of certain demographic like it is done in the west who just go around minding their own business.
Don’t forget the heat!!! 45+ C. I lived through 52C in Gujrat 60 km from Lahore. And then the electrical grid goes down because everyone wants to use A/C!
My brother is in the same situation. He has young daughters and has said exactly the same thing regarding our village in Azad Kashmir. The way people sneer, bad eye , 'paarey ake or parey nazar' as they say about some people there. The worst thing is the caste and backward mindedness as you say. People have this superiority complex over others. Im sure this exists all over the world but to different degrees. In the uk were generally all the same, social status does exist, however our culture and schools have taught us to be polite, respectable, understanding to all. What really annoys me the most is the choudahry 'poona' in Pakistan. I also found people close to you to be disingenuous, some outright dishonest due to financial benefits and gain. The issue you highlighted is major importance. What about the issue those people who are deemed to be less human on a daily basis becuase of the caste system. I went there recently and enjoyed travelling, spending time and having great laughs with the people there. One of the best holidays I had in years, however the underlying issues remain and leave a sour taste in your mouth. I can imagine the dread people with daughters have.

Pakistani are well known in Malaysia as carpet trader 😂 most of them are overstaying, or legally stay by married a locals. With Indian India and Bangladesh, too many illegal immigrants from that region. But if you bring along your fortune and business, then you are very welcome.
Unfortunately a lot of the Pakistani men lied to a lot of the locals and married them just to start a business while having their real wife and children in Pakistan 😅 these type of things they do brings a bad name to Pakistani people.
southeast asia far more better than south asia.. overall just better.. if you want to see beautiful nature & landscape.. just go abroad thailand, philipines & indonesia..
I don't know why some Asians say my parents were from so and so country, inferring that they are something different than that of their parent's ethnicity. I think it's a disgrace. Simple language - I'm a Pakistani who holds a red document called a British passport. The ego of some people when it comes to where they live.
I think it's more about how your brain is wired. Ethnically we are Pakistani no doubt but people who have been bought up in another country will think differently, have different conceptual perspectives. Eg arrange marriages to the village boy and girl... Not saying it don't work but compatibility can become a serious issue. Ethnically the same but from 2 different worlds. Something to think about!!!!
@@HaroonKhan-lu4xu Sorry, but you're getting "ethnicity" confused with "culture". A person's ethnicity can never change regardless of where they live or which passport they hold, whereas cultural effects and affiliations will vary from place to place. So a Pakistani or Bengali born or brought up in Malaysia will significantly vary culturally with one in Japan as an example. But both will be ethnically Pakistani or Bengali - that never changes. Similarly, strictly speaking "British" is not an ethnicity but a nationality. So for example, I could lose my British nationality and then go and live in France, few years later apply for Citizenship and become a French Citizen. Here the word "French" means either an ethnicity or nationality or both. If I'm Pakistani then I would be "French" by nationality but obviously can't be "French" by ethnicity. These are distinctions that are easily overlooked. In this video I was pertaining to the fact that some people take joy and pride in impressing on others the belief that they are a different ethnicity to that of their parents because they feel proud of being eg British or feel ashamed of being known as belonging to that ethnic group.
@@shabrahhussain9680 It's a pretty obvious thing being said here, and with that formula surprised you came to that erroneous conclusion. If you look at my original comment properly, then applying your very own formula it translates into "my parents were born in x (parents from so and so country)," hence I am "x" (talking about people who don't mention this hence I said they want to force others to infer they're something different to that of their parents ethnicity), but I was born in "y" (yes, indeed the mentioning of this point eg Britain, is asking others to think they are that ethnicity of of origin). Furthermore, no passport in any nation is given pre-birth! And furthermore, by being born in a particular country doesn't affect one's ethnicity, merely their potential nationality to be given, There's even laws that deals with that for people born in aeroplanes too.
@@shabrahhussain9680 Force doesn't necessarily mean others will accept it. How is that a contradiction when I say when one is even born on the moon their ethnicity doesn't change ie is not affected, meaning if they're a Pakistani they will remain a Pakistani even though they were born on Jupiter? No contradictions at all! Also, When one is talking about ethnicity (context) the fact they leave their own ethnicity out of it and shoot off about where their parents are from when they could just say "I'm Pakistani" (see, no need to even mention where their bloody parents are from) then you know that person is having issues with their self and ego and is forcing the notion that they are ie British, American etc . I think you need to retake lessons in English and logic. Good start, I see that you managed to put an ' after the "s" in parents whereas I mistakenly put it in between the t and s.
As a Malaysian, I personally don't know anybody who drinks from the tap like Westerners. Yes, our minister may have said our water is now clean enough, but most of us are still not accustomed to that. Many of us have water filters at home, and as for my family, my wife insists that we even boil the filtered water to be 100% bacteria-free.😂
It is ironic that women having lower status than men in Pakistan but many Pakistani women are famous, strong and making headlines in the world e.g. Benazir Bhutto, Malala Yousafzai
Saira are you single, living alone in Malaysia? What will you do after 5 years. When your malaysia visa expires? In Pakistan you could have brought a flat to live in. Theres alot of security in those flats. Also if you wore Pakistani clothes no one would stare at you. Nobody stares at me. You got stared at because your wearing arab dress. You are right about the drinking water. The government needs to build water filtration plants so the entire country gets clean drinking water in the taps.
so many pakistani women are studying abroad... what is she saying? and pls women dont much go to mosque in the entire indian sub continent. its a cultural thing.... no necessarily an oppression..
The best naan i ever had is from one pakistani guy in msia in the 90s. He sell just plain naan with tandoori and dhal sauce. Never had anything better ever since. Nowadays naan in msia are just shit.
There are rows of Pakistani restaurants on jalan Ipoh with good naan. I buy my naan from a Pakistani stall at plaza Damas. Yes, they're better than mamak naan.
Saira, i agree with your comparison. However, if you are earning a foreign currency like gbp, you are not affected by inflation as much in Pakistan. So, actually, for a foreigner, the cost of living is much cheaper but not for the pakistani earning in pkrs which is very sad.
Salam sister I am very keen to move to Malaysia from the UK but after doing a comparison of costs of Islamabad vs Kuala Lumpur it seems that it is cheaper to move and live in islamabad than Malaysia, this maybe due to the high exchange rate of the £ to rupees but please advise
You are telling the truth about Pakistan. For the most part, the Pakistani culture is rotten. Where millions of children do not have access to schools and education, we should not expect that country to make progress or join the global economy. I don't see light at the end of the tunnel for the people in that God-forsaken country. It's better to avoid it.
Please do make a video about schooling systems in Malaysia. I have been following you for the last 6 months. I have 2 school going daughters in Pakistan and we will move to Malaysia in the next 6 months.
The whole video I was thinking, everything you were saying can be transposed to Morocco. I was born and raised in France, I have a Moroccan background. When I was younger and used to visit the motherland, I was exposed to all these points you mentioned. That’s a shame that the lack of education and religion have corrupted the country.
Why they always choose to marry among cousins and within the family? Dont have any chance to choose what they like or love? And some Pakistani men immigrants workers, said that their siblings girl or women not allow to go to school or working and just wait till the age of 16 or 17 to get engage and marry among cousins..

For some reasons (not wanting to sound racist), pakistanis (and indians) moved to other countries and tried to run things ( on how it was in their countries). They should appreciate the changes in lifestyle in other countries and embraced them. Otherwise .....
Very true indeed
How do you mean the Pakistani or Indian tried to run things in other countries?
Yup that's the funniest thing about those people, they ran away to other countries because their own country failed them, yet they want the country that they ran away to, to behave exactly like the country they ran away from 😂
Nothing racist at all, you are telling the truth

Pakistanis and bangladeshis in kl also stare at tourists here. Not sure why they do that.
True, they stared though wanted to eat you. My daughter wouldn't go nsk full of bangla . She daring ask them right on their face, ape tengok😅

These things you described in Pakistan is a perfect example of the effects of IMF "austerity measures" spilling over into society.
Yaa.. we have the right to choose the best life in ourselves
Thanks Saira. Thank you on what you did promoting Malaysia. Wish you happiness all your life ❤
Our family wanted to shift to Pakistan and saw progress when Imran khan was in power.
What were you wearing then?

I went to hunza, it was such beautiful country
I was told by a Pakistani tour guide, when i was travelling in Pakistan last year, that woman are not allowed to pray in mosques. Once my friends and I prayed (all of us are ladies) in National Mosque of Islamabad, the Faisal Mosque. There were so many Pakistanis visiting the mosques as tourists and almost everyone watched us praying as it is a strange thing to do. And 1 more thing, there is no 'surau' available at Lahore Airport. We just prayed inside an abandoned commercial premise while waiting to check-in.
Tak mesra tourist kot
Masjid under ahle Hadith allows sis.
I can also perform Friday prayer and Terawih prayer was excellent since Imam is a hafiz . Completed the Quran. Alhamdulilah
For someone who was born and living in a tropical country like Malaysia, Pakistan's nature scenery is absolutely beautiful

I had the same experience in Pakistan when i was 14. I am Malaysian. Went to anarkali bazar lahore and men staring, touching my hand. Today i am married to a Pakistani living in Malaysia. Yes even today nothing has changed
oh sister your husband staring at you is allowed :) but jk aside, its an unfortunate side of Pak. The men are just no shame..
Good morning Ms Saira, TQ for feeling comfortable stayed in Malaysia...
Ya but when u r in indonesia and u asked for surau, they will ask u back. What is that..💁♂️
@@bashed1000
87% of Indonesian people know what a surau is
Meanwhile, only 65% of Malaysians know what a "surau" is.
@@bashed1000Indeed, because surau in Indonesia is usually called musholla.
@@bashed1000 Interesting !!

My sister has lived in Pakistan for 20 years and still loves it

I have been to Pakistan couples of times. I was amazed with the beauty of the natures. Sadly some place don't have a good facilities for tourists. Hopefully one day the government do some improvements to attract more tourists to visit Pakistan.

Let's Go Malaysia 🎉
100% right
I don't know why some Asians say my parents were from so and so country, inferring that they are something different than that of their parent's ethnicity. I think it's a disgrace. Simple language - I'm a Pakistani who holds a red document called a British passport. The ego of some people when it comes to where they live.
Agreed
Becoz they brought along their fathers' name
Benazir killed. Milala shot in the face hmmmm
Pakistani women are strong in character, beautiful and awesome.
just be careful that some 'senior' foreigners used to acts & speak like local and the unfortunate tourists will became their victim.
Female uni students in Malaysia now exceeded male counterparts. Memang tak aci betul😅
