This is a gessobord by Ampersand. They prepare the boards themselves but when I make my own panels I usually use acrylic gesso. Sometimes I prepare canvas or paper with acrylic matte medium mixed with acrylic paint if I want to tone the surface. On occasion I use oil priming, but it takes a long time to do it yourself and it's expensive if you buy it from the store. So usually I just go the acrylic gesso route.

Man, my painted flowers (roses and gardenias) look like they belong in little shop of horrors.😅the struggle is real.

Tell me about it! I feel like most of my paintings are a disaster when I'm painting them, and usually after I'm done as well haha. But every painting has something to teach us and it's all about the process, not the end result. Ultimately each time you paint, you get a little bit better, and worst case you got to spend some time contemplating the beauty of nature. Keep it up! Don't give up.
