  • Review of the New, Louisiana Grills Black Label Series 800, while cooking up some Dino size Beef ribs. This new grill line was released at the beginning of August, 2020. I highly recommend this grill and all the features it provides. A pellet grill that truly can replace your regular BBQ.

I had a Green Mountain Grill before I moved and had to leave it behind. I used to put foil on the drip tray to make cleaning easy. For this grill, there are the slide where you can get direct flame. So without putting foil on that part how hard is it to clean, like after those steaks went on and dripped stuff all over that part of the grill?

Nice I was thinking of the camp chef only because it's wifi enabled and Bluetooth however I don't like the way camp chef is so thin and I did see a galvanized peeling come off on the burn out I guess you call it witch didn't seem good to me with these grills they seem durable and long lasting

That looks like an awesome grill! It's not one of the more popular ones, which surprises me. I was between the Green Mountain (for the WiFi) and the Pit Boss (for the sear plate). This looks to have the best of both worlds! Thanks for the great review!!

007JeffDog yes I love the great features and honestly come paired to some other brands it’s really affordable. It’s a win win to me! If your on my Instagram page check out the ribeye I did on it last night! It’s a searing machine. @chef_chrissys_bbq

@@chrissysbbq395 I ended up buying the 1200 and had nothing but problems. I was able to connect via WiFi and Bluetooth, but couldn't change the temp (only view). It took 30+ minutes to get to 350 degrees. It wouldn't even get to 600 degrees (only 515), and I wasted a 20 lb bag of pellets trying to get it there.
I ended up returning it and getting a GMG Daniel Boone. It gets to 550 in 15 minutes. I do miss the sear/direct flame feature, but that's not the main reason to own a smoker. I'm disappointed, as I really wanted it to work, but either I got a bad one, or it has design flaws. Their support was useless and simply copy/pasted the grill starting procedure as a response to my detailed description of the issues I was having.

007JeffDog oh man I’m so sorry you had all those problems. It shouldn’t take that long to heat up at all. Did you talk with customer service to see what could of been the problem? Glad you got a grill you happy with in the end, your totally right you don’t own a grill for one specific feature. You want one that works for you all around.

Where do you store your top rack? I noticed it's just too in the way for me. I just got the 1200 version of this. Made a T-Bone steak on it. Gonna try a Brisket this weekend.

Costco has this model on sale right now for $849.99. My 8 year old Traeger has finally bit the dust. Is this a good replacement for a Traeger?

This company has the worst customer service I have dealt with. I’m a college student and spent a lot of money on this grill to be able to have this grill for many years. I thought it was a quality grill until it caught fire in the auger and the fan did not work, causing the grill to burn up. I have received no help. I have warranty issues besides the fire that I have not been helped with. The seal on the bottom right of the grill is not properly sealed, causing grease to drip on the bottom rack. Also the grill can’t fully screw to the legs, causing me to set 4 screws aside. If you buy this grill I hope it’s great but if there is a warranty issue they will try to dodge it in any way.

I’m sorry you had problems with your grill. I suggest contacting customer service again to try and rectify the problem. I have not had these problems with mine.

You should have bought a Recteq, they have the best customer service in the grilling industry and they over build their grills, instead of cheeping out on parts like most brands.
