    Just set up and used my SL1000 yesterday. I think I must not have gone through the warm up process correctly. I seemed to have temperature issues when smoking my ribs. I have cooked them the exact same way dozens of times, but these were severely underdone. I wish I had seen this video sooner - it may have prevented my problems!

    Great video! I was looking at that grill as I have a pitboss that I've had 9 years now, and it works wonderfully. However, it's like looking car shopping, just looking and not buying. Beautiful grill for sure. I know Pitboss is owned by Danson's who also makes this grill! However, when and if I buy another one this one will for sure be on the shopping list.

    Thanks for the video - I have the same grill. Evey time to go through start up, the temp spikes to about 400 deg, even when I'm manually setting the temp down to 200 or something. Same thing when I'm using the probes. I can't seem to avoid the 400 deg start-up spike. If someone has a solution, please let me know. I would like to avoid the extra time and cost for heating the unit to 400. Thanks - G

      I had a different problem and I called the Louisiana Grills help line. They were able to help me within minutes. Please try to call them it could be something simple. My self I just start the grill and set my temperature. The only time it goes past temperature too much is when I had the lid open too long. Hope this helps you.

    HI Greg, Would you purchase this smoker again? Have you had any problems with it over the last year since you posted this?
    Thanks Mate!

      I did have issues but it was quickly resolved from their customer support number. I would recommend this grill. In fact I bought a second grill from them.

      Thank you Mate. Our Costco has them on special at the moment. Was looking at a Weber but this is 1/3 the cost lol@@GregRocheleau

    Just bought the same thing. I saw you have an egg (which I know is alot of work/maintenance). Would like to know your thoughts after a few grills.

    Hi Greg, just got the 700. Do I fill the hopper all the time? Lets say I just want to make 2 hamburgers or 2 steaks ? do I only put in a few scoops?

    • @GregRocheleau
      @GregRocheleau  Год назад

      Probably better to keep your hopper empty when not in use. I have had pellets swell with moisture between cooks sitting in the hopper. Now I cover it when not in use and I use often.

    I will never buy another Louisiana grill Ever, I have the LG ESTATE 860BI and it does not control the temperature right, Supposedly they use PID controllers, and they said that is normal for the temperature to swing 25 deg, + or -. Do your self a favor and buy a REC TEC pellet smoker.
