The Time I Crashed Part 2
Hey, remember the story from two videos ago? Well, I forgot to get to part 2!
So after I got morphine'd up and prescribed 80 oxys (80!!), I went home still broken. Kaiser could not fix me up as my humerus bone was broken really badly. It didn't snap in half but instead, separated sideways. Imagine a log and now imagine you splitting the log with an ax. That's how my bone broke. Sideways. The x-ray is nuts! I needed surgery and the quickest they could get me in was two days from then.
I spent the next two days in euphoric agony as the pills were making me fly to the moon but I still felt pain and could not sleep laying down. I could not shower. Everything sucked and I couldn't go to work which I loved doing. I loved that job.
The day of the operation arrived. I went to the hospital and signed in. They had me get undressed and into the shitty hospital gown. I laid down and they affixed the gas mask and asked me to count to ten. I made it to three. I was frigging out.
Almost immediately to me, I was waking up. I felt groggy and disoriented but I had to pee REAL badly. There was nurse moving me around and I said "oh my god I have to pee really really badly!!" So...she just grabs my junk, wipes it with something and SHOVES a catheter in. I was like "umm....okay" and immediately relieved myself. I couldn't control it. It just happened. Phew! Relief
Then I realized something else. I had no prepared for this event. I did not know this was going to happen. Had I known this was going to happen, I WOULD HAVE TRIMMED. You know? Gosh there was just an absolute forest happening down there. I mean it was actual bushes, guys. There may have been a family of birds. So I got immediately embarrassed and told the nurse something like "oh my god, I'm so sorry that I have a huge ass bush down there".
She. Did. Not. Respond. She didn't even look at me. That made me feel EVEN WORSE. Now I was thinking "oh my god, she thinks I'm small!"
I am not. I am average but that huge bush hid like TWO inches! It was like Zohan, yo! I was mortified. It's funny where our minds go, you know?
They placed me into a room and served me the the most bland meal I have ever eaten. I know they do it but still, it sucked. I demanded to be let go and they eventually agreed. I was okay and wasn't about to spend any more money there!
I went home and you know, I didn't feel any pain after that. I still took them damned pills, though. I got addicted to them and that's a story for another day.

Btw, I guess I got lucky, my ISL-102 (39mm, Black Type-A dial with date) has kept between -4 to -5 second accuracy out of the box since I got it.
The low key Tenacious D references are just one of the reasons I keep coming back. Killing it, as usual, Curt.

Don't you dare drop the song! The song and your your sense of humor in general (which resonates with me very much and always cheers me up, btw) are the reasons your videos are so great. I have an interesting idea on how to mix it up though, if you're feeling the need for a bit of a change. You could have fans of the channel record themselves singing/harmonizing along with the boys and every episode could feature one or a few "guest appearances" in a multiple split-screen style sing along! How fun would that be?!? Just a thought. Either way, thanks for all the time and effort you put into these, man. Always excited to see a new minitwatch video in my feed. What up Curt! Was outta pocket in the wild wilderness of West Virginia yesterday so just finally watching this now. Hope you have safe travels on your adventure in Utah and can't wait for the vid about it! Ben is lucky to have a bro like you, that's a very clean nice pilot. Reminds me of the Tissel which is the first watch I bought because of your channel. Swapping the bands on this watch will give much more curb appeal. Check the Lume is an institution at this point. Man that break sounds brutal and myself and opiods have never reacted well. I feel like spiders are crawling all over my skin and I get really irrate. Might be genetic because my dad had major dental surgery last week and they sedated him and then the nurses called my brother to get him out of there because he was being aggressive and combative with them when he started to come to. Two more weeks and I return to Vegas. Counting down the days. Stay safe in the desert bro and stay hydrated!
