I was able to float with a help of floater.... without a floater I would sink, panic and be frightened. I just didn't know the right technique. It was god sent that I came across your vedio yesterday. I followed your advice and tips ....and I floated ...thank you so much. I am loving my freedom of getting over my fear. Looking forward for more of your vedios . Thank you.
Thank you, Dan for the great tips on how to recover your standing position after the front float. I am so scared of letting go of the float but will try your technique today. Wish me luck 🤞 Thank you 🙏
Thanks a lot!! I was having fear of floating from few days as i did not know how to start float with proper leg positions and how to end float gently. Today i applied what i learned from this video and i am so happy to mention i overcome the fear of floating. Keep pushing these videos specially for beginners who face issues and don’t knw how to correctly rectify those.
Wow these are amazing videos. I started learning swimming 1 month ago and struggling to understand some things. Your videos helped me so much. Will you do some videos on breathing for beginners? This is what I find the most difficult. I get out of breath and can never continue my front crawl.
You are welcome. If you have any questions feel free to get in touch danswimcoach@gmail.com You can find some tips about breathing on my Insta @danswimnyc
Great video! I've been learning since a week and I'm struggling hard to fight my fears. Whenever I float or glide, I try to hold on to something like a floater or the edge of the pool. I can float and glide with a floater or even if someone places their hand beneath my hands but I start panicking if I have nothing to grab with my hands. How should I deal with this? Please help!
It would help if you learned how to end the float correctly. If you don’t feel comfortable floating without any support you can stop your float anytime you have… Do not take off your feet from the bottom of the pool until you have your entire body inside the water. Keep your eyes open in the water when learning to float. Ask someone to stay right next to you so you can see their feet in the water, which should help you to realize that you are not alone and the water is shallow if you have to stop your float.
I was making the same mistake mentioned in this video. That's why I was stuck. Now, I will try to follow the instructions given in this video. Thank you for such an informative video.
Hi hope you overcame the fear. I joined swimming classes and the same is happening. I am just so scared to let go of the handle of the pool. I am hoping this will go once I am little confident. Pls share your experience.
I must say great tips, I was able to float with the help of a floater, but take that away and I would panic and kick my legs and hands and go down. It was almost 4 days of my swim class that I was trying to float unsuccessfully. Then i saw your video and kept it in mind when I went to the pool, and I could do it!! Floating was so cool and I'm so happy that I did it. Thanks a lot👍
Hello Dan I'm a beginner and still trying to learn to float however I feel more relaxed floating on my back.. Your video has really given me some insight to practice in my next lesson Susan from South Africa 😂
I really find it difficult to stop in the water i.e. getting my body from horizontal to vertical position and fall down. That has created a fear in my mind. What do I do?
Practice doing it while holding the wall or someone’s hands first. Make sure you are keeping your face in the water until your feet are touching the floor. Most likely you are getting your face out of the water too soon
My swimming coach tells us to interlock our fingers to get a perfect streamline but I struggle with my balance when I do this. I’ll try to keep my hands and feet slightly apart and see if this helps my balance. Thank you kind sir
Hello Sir. I have been taking swimming lessons for about a month but I am not able yo float without support. With support I am able float and kick as well.. aas soon as I place my head inside water I just freak out..as soon as take my legs of the ground I feel I am sinking down. Please help me regarding this
Make sure you inhale as much air as you can before starting the float. Hold your breathe when floating. Look down while floating Keep your muscles as relaxed as it possible. Don’t point your toes down while floating
@@danswimnyc I would try your tip tomorrow (God Willing). Although I am heavy 90kg with muscles. 😢 When am in the water, if I spread my hand, my hands feels the upthrust or float but my body sinks.
Sir i am very much scared of swimming . Learning from 1 month. I cannot float and land on my own. I am scared that I will sink immediately. I am not able to learn. I learned how to float holding something at the end of pool. I cannot even walk to the middle of the pool. I cannot stand properly in water . I want to learn swimming but can't help it
@@neelimamishra7158you need a lot of practice. The more you will stay in water, slowly slowly you will get confident. It will take some time just don’t lose hope.
@@neelimamishra7158hope you are doing better. I too started recently, my initial challenges were (1) Panicking, (2) CO2 tolerance. (1) Try staying calm and relaxed. (2) Try beating your precious record. Do bubbles exercise in between your float attempts. Just remember that to breath all you need to do is stand up.
Yes, the first lesson in swimming : The purpose of swimming is NOT to stay above water. The purpose of swimming is to PROPEL yourself through the water. The purpose of FLOATING is to stay above the water. First you float, then you swim.
Practice ending the float while holding the wall. Do not bring your head out of the water and your feet are placed against the floor. Make sure your knees towards your stomach opposed, pushing your heels towards your butt
Make sure you don’t pick your head up before your legs touch the floor. I wish you could give me more info about what happens to you when you are trying to float. Can you please email me @ danswimcoach@gmail.com
too bad we live so far apart but i would be one of your greatest challenges as my signature in the water is VERTICAL and no one has been able to help me float. i am a sinker and any flotation for a human is determined by their body density, specific gravity and you CANNOT change that. coaches, organizations, clinics, camps, etc. have never been able to make me a floater. i'm an 81year old usms competitor, 5' 8" 160 pounds with 15% body fat and i spend a lot of energy with kicking to get me anywhere near the surface of the water. the challenge is out there............................. what do i need to do???????????????????
My coach tell me to get out my head onder the water to swim, i diden't get better kicking. What should i do?. I had three different coach two of them tiched me to get my face under during swimming get out the chin to breathe. But my actually coach dasen't me to swim that way. So kicking is my challenge i have to and i can't move and i frustated allway becouse i use noodles and belt to get bouyancy becouse we are in pool deep water. I have 3 months learning. Is very difficult to me learn to swim i think i'm very old for that. 52 years old.

Please could you make a video of how to stand from gliding either front gliding or back float thanks

how to take the breath then after realeasing the breath
while taking the breath I am sinking
If I did this down at my local pool the lifeguards would probably jump in thinking I'm drowning
When I try to float on my stomach, I keep on twisting on my back. Why?
Muscles are too tense
While floating should I hold my breath
You should hold you breath If you are trying to float, and not trying to come up for a breath.

If you can do back float and roll over to a back float, this back is basically your safety “valve” when in trouble in deep water
Without support I can't float.. And i become out of breadth
It’s normal. Keep swimming with support gradually moving to the point where you are not supported. It takes time
