The fact that the cardboard cutouts are never acknowledged throughout the whole video, it's just shot and edited as if they weren't cutouts, is expert commitment to the bit and I love it.

For anyone that needs an explanation:
A hog-eye is a small shallow-draft river boat, normally used for ferrying goods up and down rivers, becoming most popular during the 1800s and early 1900s in southern united states.
Women would prefer to have a relationship with a hog-eye crewmember as this meant that he could unexpectedly show up for a day for a romantic visit, while a deep-water sailor would be away for months at a time and be drunk whenever on land.

I like to imagine the strange looks they were getting while filming this video. Whether it was someone carrying around the cutouts, or them carrying the cutouts themselves, _someone_ was getting some strange looks from passersbys.

Just so you know: Hog-eye doesn't refer to the guy's eye. A Hog-eye was a kind of barge. So, I don't think the song ever says "hog-eyed", since that wouldn't make sense.

Edit/Update: have now actually been to Bristol and recognise a lot of the locations
i recognized the golf course from a hat films video from 2017 with lewis and sips lol (also the main channel video where they lewis and sips did their own vlog while hat films was recording that said video lol)

I giggled at the cutouts, and then when it got to actual Antonio and Richard sitting there impatiently, I burst out laughing and didn't stop the rest of the video.

Absolutely LOVE this. The banjo, lead vocal and lyrics writer just crushed it on this song as well as the last one posted. You guys are as sharp as you've ever been...top of your game right now! Ohhhh, and the video production itself on this video as well as the previous is just FUN....so much effort and creativity put into it.

Timing the stop-motion and scene shifts to the pace of the song is some excellent editing work. And of course a wonderful rendition as always lads.

This feels like one of those old stop motion cartoons with big gaps between the frames and I LOVE it! Esp when it zooms in on their faces and they start “running” back because theyre late XD Great job on the song and the video! (I do wanna know what exactly a hog eye man looks like now though)
