When it comes to Bhajan and Abhang of Shri Pandurang Vitthal, there seems to be an effort to excel between the Maharashtrians and the Kannadigas and both take to such spiritual heights that all the barriers of language, region, caste, creed, gender are easily wiped out and one dissolves in the depths of Bhakti. We are so blessed to have such great composers, lyricists and singers, all profusely blessed by Pandharinath Vitthala.
As a Kannadiga, I am stunned by his pronunciation. He might be a prodigy when it comes to music but he has definitely worked hard for that flawless pronunciation! That is pure talent with hard work! If not for his name I would have thought he was a native Kannada speaker!
Purandar das is very rare, precious and great devotee of lord vittaala. He has originally seen lord vittala physically . whoever utters lord vittala name and finds about purandar das really they will attain salvation. True salvation is in thinking , trusting lord vittala....... Purandar das is very famous in pandaripur.

Another one I would like to hear from the "vande guru paramparam" is Purandaradasa's composition "Nimma bhagya doddado, namma bhagya doddado". The story goes that Krishnadevaraya the emperor used to take loans from the Navakoti Narayana Krishnappa Nayaka who later gave up everything to become Purandara dasa. When he meets the king, emperor chides the saint saying you have become a mendicant, but I am still the king. Tell me who is great now. This song is a reply to the emperor which is so beautiful, ending with "nimma bhagya Lakshmi devi, namma bhagya Narayana".. It is so befitting and touching.. Worth sharing with humanity - I am sure Kuldeep Pai will find this inspiring as well. It was once sung by Nagaraj Havaldar that had such an electrifying effect on audience.

The first time I heard this was in a Raj Kumar Bharathi concert at Coimbatore when i was a little kid and one lady in the audience started dancing with energy surges. Another one I would like to hear from the "vande guru paramparam" is Purandaradasa's composition "Nimma bhagya doddado, namma bhagya doddado".
The story goes that Krishnadevaraya the emperor used to take loans from the Navakoti Narayana Krishnappa Nayaka who later gave up everything to become Purandara dasa. When he meets the king, emperor chides the saint saying you have become a mendicant, but I am still the king. Tell me who is great now. This song is a reply to the emperor which is so beautiful, ending with "nimma bhagya Lakshmi devi, namma bhagya Narayana".. It is so befitting and touching.. Worth sharing with humanity - I am sure Kuldeep Pai will find this inspiring as well. It was once sung by Nagaraj Havaldar that had such an electrifying effect on audience.

Wow! This goes straight to the heart and can melt the hardest one too!! The first time I heard this was in a Raj Kumar Bharathi concert at Coimbatore when i was a little kid and one lady in the audience started dancing with energy surges. I couldn't understand it then, but now this brings the same kind to me and brings Naada Brahmam straight in front!
