@That V8 Life Just let other people enjoy their stuff. Fuckin' haters like you are the worst I swear.
@That V8 Life why you say that Aleros are sick dude
Were Aleros popular back in the day
@That V8 Life Considering how many 2000s Impalas, Malibus, and Ventures got completely neglected and still made it past 200k miles, I’d say the 3.4 v6 is pretty damn tough
Can you review a 1993 GMC Sierra if you haven't yet. I'm saying this on the comments because I can't email.
You can tell the owner cares for this car just based off the interior alone. Really impressive I love seeing weird/daily cars modified to be tastefully different.
Wow; nicely done. LOVE the mostly OEM look -- nice and clean. No rice, no carbon fiber BS, no black wheels, no fart can, no douched-out limo tint. He focused mostly on performance aspects: Amazing.
I bet the Alero is in the top 10 taillight to body ratio. Those things are massive.
Agreed I wanna find an alternative for tail lights for my alero
i love the beauty of adding modern day cosmetics to early 2000s cars it cleans them up so nicely
Ikr, looks so good
@@sybsygstgstsgysg5330 agreed this looks awesome lol
This car is really cool. It's just a normal commuter car that someone used off the shelf performance parts and accessories to make it into special. I find cars like this to be more interesting than a super expensive exotics.
Hes the only.guy in the neighborhood with it that's true
That V6 sounds pretty good what a surprise!
Honestly 😂 even though it’s not orginal one, still sounds awesome surprising
Even more surprising since GM pushrod V6s normally sound pretty dreadful.
This video has made my day. That Razzi body kit is my dream Alero piece. Ive owned three of these cars, including one of the Final 500 models (it was #435/500) I wrecked it sadly back in 2020, but if i hadntve lost that one, I wouldn’t have my current Alero coupe. Its slightly modified. Drivetrain is stock, (3400, automatic) but its got some upgrades. S&S headers, 65mm Throttle body from an Intrigue, Borla catback exhaust, front/rear strut braces, canucks lowering springs, 18” ATS two piece wheels, and 2001 Camaro front brakes (they’re the same as the C5 brakes on the one you reviewed, they just aren’t fancy and say “Corvette” on them lol)
A few things:
1) A friend of mine in high school got a 2000 Alero from his parents and it was the first brand new car I ever went cruising in….memories.
2) I’ve never seen a modified one and this is extremely well done.
3) I love that you review (and give us a glimpse into) these obscure outlier cars.
Keep up the great work!
There's a whole following of modified aleros!!
Yeah this is the coolest thing I’ve seen on the internet in awhile. This rivals some of the cool stuff Thatdudeinblue gets to drive. I NEED THIS
Those 3.5 and 3.9s aren't quite what a 3800 is but the power delivery is really nice
Man your channel has grown so much, I like that you review every type of car just about; and not just crazy AMGs or lambos like so many others in the auto sector of RUclips. Subscribed 👌
I've got the grand am version. Cammed 3.5, 6 speed manual, and turbo!
honestly this car looks really well done I love Oldsmobile they did 80s and 90s boxy cars so well and the late 90s 2000s bubble bodies looked 5 or 6 years newer then they are the Alero the Aroua looked so sleek and fresh compared to the 2000s buicks of the time it was sad to watch them die at a time when I believe the styling would have got them back on there feet.
Those cars looked 10years older than the year they came out
This is pretty cool. I love mods that look factory. I could definitely see this car as a high-performance trim of the Alero from the factory that never was.
I never was a fan of those style rear wings but it looks great on this car. Love the way the entire car looks.
Never thought I'd see an Alero so beautifully done like this. So tasteful, and that V6 sounds like absolute heaven. 🫠🫠🫠 Kudos to the guy who did the work to this car.
@ 5:15 it looked like that cup holder lining would have been removable to make it capable of receiving a larger cup.
I had a 2002 Alero, drove that thing into the ground. It had a fee minor issues, but basically it was a really good car. Nice review 👍
GM at it’s worst during this decade but kudos to any enthusiast who wants to take a mainstream car a sleeper. Love to see any quality build!
Wish it was the coupe body style! That would be even more rare. I’d love to see someone put a supercharged 3800 in an Intrigue. It was only offered with the naturally aspirated 3800 in 1998.
Man that's crazy. I was thinking to myself yesterday "Hm, I wonder when Zack is going to review an Alero". And then boom, here we are.
Good review as always, Zack!
Also, that Oldsmobile sounds very good. It's nice to see these Olds running on the road.^^
Okay, i really like this one! Nicely made, clean in it's own way. Like it!
Interesting to see how much things you can just "drag & drop" into this Alero! 😁
Best looking Alero I've ever seen without a doubt. It puts me in mind of the 2000 Grand AM I used to drive. I loved the looks of that one, and the 17" Enkeis I added to it definitely gave it a little visual pop.
This is really sweet... These kind of builds aspire to what I am doing with my 11' Lacrosse CXS Touring. It's got the suspension, it's got all the options, it's just getting an LFX swap, new exhaust, a good tune and set of wheels. See what else the GM parts bin can do for the car later on with brakes and if any Camaro 3.6 parts will work with the FWD setup. Will be the first CXS Touring swapped or with any bit of work done. Which is substantial to me, as it was the short lived "GS" like model for the Lacrosse that also came with exclusive options no longer offered after. Love this video and really appreciate this car.
It's nice seeing reviews on aleros. I have one and I think they're solid cars
Oh this thing is cool as heck!
Good looking car in stock form. Now a Great looking car with the very tasteful mods. What an unusual build.
had one of these as my first car with the 2.2, i thought it was ugly at first but it grew on me and i will always miss mine ❤️
that's me rn, I've had mine for 6 years and I'm gonna keep it forever
Dude I've really been enjoying this content 👍
You my friend are underrated...this channel should have way more subs
My mom use to have a red 2 door alero when I was kid. And every since then I’ve always had a coupe
Always nice to see a build that’s still useable every day
Thanks for finally showing the backseats. If you could show us the rear center console that would be cool
I've always liked the look of this car buddy had one back in high school.
That sounds SICK
Aleros kick ass. Only people who have driven them understand.
They look cool even today
I do see Aleros around occasionally, they almost always look like beaters. Can't think of more than one that looked cared for. Never seen one this nice for sure. I actually had a 2002 Alero 2 door with V6 several years ago. It was in good shape and drove well. Seemed like plenty of power to me. Only problem was a GM pass key problem where sometimes it did not recognize it's own electronic key sensor. Other wise great car.
As soon as you said 3.5 I was wondering if it was a 3500 “high value” engine or if it was a 3.5 “short star” V6 from the Intrigue and Aurora. Since it’s the high value he should’ve went for the 3900! That’s the engine that that transmission was paired with in the G6 GTP.
The 3.5 is almost bolt in and able to run on the stock pcm. The 3.9 being variable cam timing is a little more tricky!
@@KMaffittGAGT that’s interesting, I didn’t know the 3.5 doesn’t have variable valve timing even though it’s the same family of engine
Keep the odd balls coming! I find these types of vehicles far more appealing than new exotics or any new car for that matter.
Modified manual Oldsmobile. This got my undivided attention within mins.........I have A.D.D. congrats my attention is rarely undivided.
Didn't expect such a unique Olds Mobile, huge respect to the owners 👏
There's something you don't see every day. That sounds like a solid build. It's impressive how much was bolt-on. I like how the body mods are sporty yet subtle. The seats look so comfortable, back when GM actually put padding into their seats.
Oldsmobile got a bad rap before they were killed off. They'd built up a reputation as the boring bland car your dad drove, so when they introduced futuristic design and technology in the 90s they couldn't shake off that image. They were good looking cars, had good tech, and were comfortable. This and the Aurora were good cars let down by Oldsmobile's old man image. When GM had to downsize, it made sense to kill off the old man brand. They already had Buick, why did they need two brands for retirees?
I'd love to see a build of a supercharged Buick Regal. The supercharged 3800 was a sleeper stock, imagine if it was opened up a bit.
Cool car! Great vid!
this is amazing. it looks like a big eagle talon
Man i had one of these brand new when i was 17 and i rememver it had strong power but it would always top out at 110 lol. And it would hit it quick it handled well too
I would drive that in a heartbeat
of America?
Awesome thanks
Do you have a body kit on this?!? The front looks a little different than my 01'. Maybe it's just the black paint giving it a meaner look but damn kinda inspired to do this to mine 😂 only got 85k miles on it so still pretty of life left.
nice OEM + Build here
I've owned a BRZ, a Legacy GT, Probe GT and a 2003 Olds Alero. I loved all of them. Just wished my Alero was the manual.
These Alero's are still popular in the Grand Am community.
Nice Contour SVT killer! Looks and sounds amazing. I wish GM had put out an Alero like this. The benefit is that it would have been factory produced and had decent reliability (for a late 90s/early 2000s GM product). But, if the owner is mechanically inclined, I can see this being a labor of love for him.
I agree I wish GM would've did a better when they designed the Alero in terms of performance and gave it a better interior and they don't really have a wide variety of aftermarket parts
Hopefully mine will look and drive as good as this one I just got it this week it’s NEEDS TLC 😂I need to go performance mods first then the looks 🥲
I have a 2002 Alero that I'm going to swap an 5.3L LS4 into sometime in the near future
Hey! You should have done the big bottle fail test sound effect a 2nd time! Lol
When Shooting Cars gets more subs, I hope he leads a drive to bring back the great American sedan!
My aunt used to have this car! I always thought it was pretty nice.
I appreciate the effort put into this car, I still see Aleros often in the Southwest US, never like this
Can somebody please put a body kit on a Oldsmobile Alero with TE37 Volk Rays cuz I wanna see it look like a Silvia
What is that spoiler and rims bc that's the look I want but it's hard to find anything that actually fits
Razzi spoiler and ASA GT5 wheels. Both have long since been discontinued.
Actually looks good.
Pls review the aurora!
Who would've thought an Olds Alero would actually be pretty badass looking
does anyone know which radio he bought and what harness he got for it?
It's a Sony XAV-AX150 with a Crutchfield harness. I did have to do a bit of trimming on the factory bezel to make it fit right (it's not perfect), but it's good enough.
Radio?
The outside looks really hot!
I see a few around town two four-doors and I think a coupe
I have an 2003 alero and I can confirm that owning this car is problematic but I love it
GM from that erre was THE BEST💯💪
Idk why American Cars back then were mostly automatics paired with slow 4 cylinders.
This would have sold like crazy if it were modded like this from the factory.
I wonder what would happen if you went back in time to when the Alero was first introduced and then you show this modified Alero to the GM engineers at the time.
I have a 2000 alero theres a second cig lighter on the passenger side
Nice s14a
The Alero and Aurora still look good in 2022 no lie. RIP.
Just wait until you see the supercharged 3.8 swapped grand ams.
Where tf he get the front bumpers
Does this car or its owner have an Instagram? Would have been nice to include in the video or description.
Where is build list? I want to see dyno numbers too if possible
Pinned comment eventually
He pinned the comment, check again
She's got a nice growl
As soon as I get my father's car running again you should review it. 39 hupmobile.
I'd love to!
@@ShootingCars have to modify the fuel pump and carb to ethanol gas and seal the tank. Won't be this year. Very hard to get parts.
@@ShootingCars if you look up the car it's the photo next to the black 41 skylark. He sold that one.
i have a 2001 alero GL4
Fun Fact :: The Olds badge has all the letters of OLDSMOBILE within it! ⭐️
Contour SVT was a much…much better handling car! Plus the 3L engine swap is easier and probably cheaper
Rice done right ✅
There's very little rice on this car.
Even though this is a decent modded Alero, I can rest assure my Alero is the ULTIMATE modded in all of the USA. It has options newer base trim cars could only dream of with only 67k miles. It’s in the process of getting its hood redesigned and redesigned headliner to fit the Fully automatic panoramic glass roof. Let me know if I should make a video on it once its finally done!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣dude installs a sunroof and says it’s built
For some reason I see lots of aleros in Illinois.
They were some of these cars in UE.of course in european spec.
stop it with Apple, what about Android Auto?
you never mention the POS GM unreliablity
the shifter looks very factory
I own a 2004 oldsmobile Alero
That’s not a cup holder it’s an ashtray, the cup holder is located in the enclosed compartment next to the shifter
There was a separate, but removable ashtray (with a flip-up lid!) that fits into the cupholder in front of the shifter. I think it was initially standard equipment and then came as part of the optional "smoker's package".
I had a real love affair with one of these Back in the day... Not proud to be saying this but I used to run around selling dope and one of these back in the early 2000s
It also does not have tires. Too bad, the rest of it looked pretty good.
This is t he last car Oldsmobile made before GM killed them
It's A Bloody Shame They Stopped Making Oldsmobiles...
Why? Don't get me wrong I like it but why?
Who modifies an Alero?
the amount of ads on this video is disgusting
