I still got a 99 gold GLS sedan. And as you wrote, none of that issues. Only well known security from time to time. Maybe these first were build properly and later on when they announced phaseout the quality went down. Imagine that you work for OLDs factory and you knew it all ends in few months..
I suspect something like that too. I notice all the Aleros I read and heard about with problems seem to be made after the first year 1999. The only things I ever had done was an alternator and the upper intake gaskets due to corrosive GM dex-cool. Once that was done I never had any issues other than regular maintenance. It was a fun nimble little car to drive. I sadly lost it after someone pulled out in front of me one day.
Thats for sure, only thing that can kill this engine is head gasket failure, once this is properly replaced it purse like kitten :) got this in Chevy Trans Sport ( european version of Venture ) and got 233 xxx KM on odometer. I am a big fan of this old US cars here in Europe
Same. I adored the car, had 186K miles on it before someone hit me head on while I was stopped at a light. Never needed any work in the year I owned it. I miss that car.
My cousin had a '00 Alero sedan V6.... it was the worst car she ever owned to date. Tons of electrical problems, rust, and power window regulators that were glued to the windows, that broke every winter... The engine leaked everything all the time, and she couldn't keep brakes on the thing. Achievas weren't so bad after all.
As mediocre as another car during that tine frame. This car was world class but ppl like you that couldn't afford it kept buying clapped out Civics from 1989 but kept talking shit about Olds. Gurl BYE
I had a 99 Alero and loved that car. Never had any reliability problems with it yet heard a lot of others did.

The V6's were more reliable than the Inline 4's which is what you guys probably had

Awesome car! I have a 2002 Alero 😃👍
In Europe, it’s Chevy Alero
They only mention it being the replacement for the Achieva. Obviously, the Cutlass was still in production at this point.
Over-Achieva
I have a 99 Alero and still like it. I wish Chevy, Buick or even Ford or Chrysler would start making the Alero's again.
Sometimes when I am lonely I will shave one leg so it feels like I’m sleeping with a woman 👩🏼
Rebadged as Chevrolet Alero in Europe.
I bought one with 200,000 Miles for 1,400. Great deal, great little car.
I always thought it was an attractive car.
I had a pearl white 2000 Alero. I sold it in 2009.
Cool story 😎 📖
3400 GREAT ENGINE

ok....? I mean....
Good catch. Such a tragedy what happened. Those poor people. Can you imagine being fed into a wood chipper while alive?

Adam Trombino grand am same car same problems.
Spoken like true trailer trash that bought the car from an auction sale or at a meth swap for $10 lmmfao
Fredayday Bae they’re decent cars if you take care of em, one of my customers has one of these with 200k on the clock and still going strong
When your redemption hopes rest on a mediocre car like the Alero, is it any wonder they met their demise?
