So glad I watched this video. Went stage 2 on my RS3 about a year and a half ago and noticed a vibration in my gas pedal shortly after. Reached out to the garage who did the install and they had no idea what it could be. Didn’t seem to be much of an issue so I’ve dealt with it since then. It sounds like the rear of the intake is sitting on top of the brake master cylinder, like you pointed out. Never would have even known if I didn’t watch this video. Now I can finally remedy the annoying vibration!
I didn’t lol. I just got used to the vibration at this point. Hasn’t caused any actual issues, it’s just annoying. I wasn’t able to adjust to make any extra space that would stay in place.
@@FireRedTTRS @spiritsfire9688 I'm having the same issue right now with the APR open air intake. I can't create any more space between the tube and the brake fluid reservoir, but it also seems to be rubbing somewhere around the turbo inlet. What kind of intakes are you guys having the issue with?
Hey Brian i have an TTRS and the small hose you unplugged (@2:32) from the intake hose and tucked it under, do you know the name of the hose? I bought an intake and the hose is shrink wrappped on and it seems that it was broken during install. I have to replace it for the new intake. Appreciate the help if you can thanks.
if you can find it for good price, better take a new pcv hose 07K103213K/07K103213L depending on your car date. So you can keep original inlet with original hose and original bolt
The inlet bolts are fun lol. Thinking about swapping the bolts for hex. Be nice if they came with hex. Definitely a beautiful upgrade and it improved ET and MPH on my RS3.
I was able to remove both bolts from the turbo inlet from the top. Just the back lower bolt took me about an hour but luckily did not have to lift the car. Is this RS3 model year pre 2018? my PCV bleeder tube has another extension towards the driver side. I ended up buying a new one since it broke while pulling it from the old inlet. P/N 07K103213L if anyone need it.
I’m installing the 3” Uni turbo inlet (been sitting in a box since Christmas), any pointers? I’m low key lazy and have a sloped driveway which makes anything on Jack-stands precarious. Garage is a workshop that leaves no room to pull in a car 😭 I suppose I could pull it out in the street but bleh…it seems you ought to be able to do this from above, maybe the 3” offers helpful clearance?
Why is this upgrade done? The bigger initial inlet tube size is restricted down to a stock turbo inlet size. I have a TTRS 8S and I’m trying to learn the “upgrade” path to safe, worth-while improvements.
Question do you have Instagram or anything? Wanting to reach out to you once I pickup my 2018 rs3 in about 2 weeks and order this stuff. I'm from VA, what about you?

how did you solve it ? i got the same problem but i cant get it higher to make some space ?

Well done Brian, looks right at home in there! 👏
Well i will be rewatching this like 10 times before and during installing mine :-D Thank you!
Huge thanks for this video. Made the pain in the turbo inlet way easier to install
Clean install man. I had a hell of a time with my pcv hose
Probably a better idea to go buy a whole new one instead of dealing with the pain in the butt thing.

Great vid. I learned a thing or two. One suggestion ..... get rid of the music and instead inject various 5 cylinder noises!

good video man, keep up the good work!!
The extra hose @14:45 you failed to add to the list in the description, nor did you mention what the diameter and length of said hose is.
I have what sounds like wastegate rattle after putting this in. Any issues after your install?
yeah my pedal has been vibrating like a mf. Thanks for mentioning the master cylinder thing👏
were you able to fix it?
@@DOSS_991 it ended up being NVH
@ with which intake?
I spent a good 3 hrs under the car. That part is so tight.
Not much room to move around in there
HOLY CRAP are you serious? Did you learn anything that would make it easier if you did the job again? I'm about to do mine (APR).
@@bruceeverett5372 Not really. Knowing what to do isn't the issue as much as the lack of space. I would not do it again lol.
@@tonkabobtube Thanks for the quick reply! I like working on cars, just not laying on the ground. Cheers
Is the intake with the race filter?

can you read the title... lol
No, this is a 4" inlet tube to 4" inlet elbow. Bigger than stock
Upgrade is done to increase airflow to the turbo
To clean or replace the air filter do you have to take the full front half section off?
Thanks for sharing
Do we really need the inlet?
I have a question on the tools list. What do you mean 10 triple square socket?
Do I have to be tuned for the inlet
no
Hi
Where did you buy the air intake kit?
Hello why not go with awe 4.5 intake
Because based off advertised flow numbers the Unitronic intake flows more than any other intake on the market
It was a little too big for my 👌
While you're at it why not go with IROZ 5-in intake. Trust me The unitronic setup is awesome
