I’ll never understand why you made this video with zero flash lights showing what you’re actually doing . This is the most useless video I’ve seen
I am looking into brakepads replacement for the 8Y. Do you know if there is a place where I could find compatible brake pads for the car from different brands easily? It is very confusing right now, thank you.
How did you take off the intake manifold? Stuck on this part!
Love these videos so much. Thank you Brian!
Can you send link of when you removed the intake manifold?
For anyone looking for the 8Y harness you can get in touch with Unitronic directly and they will help, have just ordered mine from them, around $40 for the harness alone excluding shipping
Only thing I’m not doing is my down pipe install apparently it’s very easy to break and I do not want to spend 2k on a new one haha what’s your take?
Please advise where you bought the kit from as I’ve ordered 2 sets already and they keep sending the 8V harness. Appreciate your link
I had this done by the company in the link and I'm amazed how awesome this feature is! My wife is jealous. Highly recommend doing this.
Do you have a website link for these
I have about 11k miles now, the squeal is unreal like a freight train stopping. The dust accumulates almost the same day I wash the car.
I got my car dyno'd today on a Mustang dyno corrected for DynoJet numbers (I think they add 12-13%) since Mustang dyno's read low (known as the "heart breakers" lol). I am running a JB4. I was not able to dyno with plain old 93 octane. I had an E30 mix in it. On map 0 (stock), I ran 378 whp / 376 ft-lbs torque. Ended up with 446 / 434 on map 6 with a K&N drop-in and a Forge hardpipe, but I think I was having some heat soak issues because I think I should have been up around 475whp. The place I had the car dyno'd at didn't dyno with the hood open. I ran an 11.3s @ 125 on the dragy last month on the same map with a 1.9s 60' time, which is a crappy 60' time. If I were down in the 1.7's, I think this would be a <11s car. I don't think a 3,600+ lb car could trap 125mph with only 446whp.
I’ve got a TTRS 8s with only downpipe, midpipe and no tune yet. Do you think the car would be okay if I added 1-2 gal of e85? Do you think it would do anything?
Great review on a low dust brake pad option! What thickness of spacers are you’re running? Reason for asking is because my rears are 15mm thick and it rubs the rear fender plastic piece. Is that the reason you removed yours? Thanks
I don't believe he's running any spacers, these wheels are OEM and don't require any spacers. Unless you don't like how they sit on the car and want to bump them out a bit.
What do you use for data logging Brian? I need a software for logging as Im currently trialing a tunning box and need to make sure AFR and Timing is all in order. Thanks
Question here about the all season tires you had installed. I feel the car has a lot of road noise on the interior on rougher roads. I was wondering if the road noise level has diminished a little bit afterwards? Please let me know, Thanks!
Hello I’ve never driven with the factory summer tires but these tires don’t have much road noise at all
Is that a filter on the Diverter Valve If so what’s the difference with the filter and without ? Also what size is it?
It’s not needed when the dv is blocked off but I had it when the factory dv was still being used to prevent any debris from getting in through that hole
@@briansaxon I just installed the Iroz Intake and it says that DV should be vented to atmosphere but I’m thinking the filter would help me for now until I do the BOV. What size filter is it? 1in?
Wait so I can cap this off? I made a 4” intake for my ttrs but rerouted that OE Hose to the intake piping like OE
@ if you run a separate bov, yes it can be capped
@@briansaxonGood to know I made my own 4” intake and ended up just routed that hose back to the intake piping very OE looks pretty clean. Thank you for the info, I will be doing a carbon 5” so I will use your method with that project.
dont say mexico, its a red flag for the police AI that patrols the internet... just dont say anything about your whereabouts, or your speed. loved the road driving at the end, THAT is what this car is about, CURVES. it is not a straightline speed machine, get an m3 or m4 for that... but for having fun on the road, SAFELY, you can not beat the RS3... except for the GT3RS and the C8 z06
dump that spoiler, it is pure drag with no appreciable downforce... and it looks like something a teenager would think is lit :)
hows that UNI beta?
Going great!
@ are there selectable features? Curious about how much control we will have.
@@briansaxoncan you make a video about it?
Didn’t know Audi switched to 6 piston calipers, are the they any smaller?
They’re actually a little bigger than the old 8v brakes. Very hard to fit 18’s
Great informational video sir!
How do you prevent the intake tube from tapping the brake master cylinder? Seems there is so much play in the filter box on its grommets that leads to this. I used a piece of foam under the box to prop it up slightly.
Bueller….
Mine hasn’t hit at all, the newer intakes have a recess in this location
@@briansaxon I have a 2019. There is too much play in the grommets for the air box it seems which allows the elbow to hit my master cylinder.
@ you can also adjust the 4 Allen heads to rotate the tube up higher to clear
@@briansaxon I will give it a try again. I considered moving the mounting tab of the tube to the front of the bracket as well.
Have you measured 100-200kph with stock and unitronic intercoolers?
Yes I have, the car is faster with the Unitronic fmic as the intake air temps are much lower
Is improved intercooler improves fuel economy?)
Fbo usuallyeans all available bolt ons for the car. So includes downpipe, and for the 8y charge piping, etc... would be curious how those turn out as well.
super video Brian, I'm planning to upgrade my 8Y RS3 intercooler with the one from forgemotorsport one as I don't think the Unitronic one is available in the uk, keep up the excellent content
Hang on Brian, when did you go stage 1? Last time you had it on a dyno with some e85 to bump things up you were on stock software. Have I missed something here….
Can’t release those videos yet 🏁
More beta tester teases
Keep grinding brotha!
Those paddles man 👀🙈😅
Something is very wrong with your quickjack, it definitely shouldn't be giving that much trouble. I've had a set for years and they always lift right away without any issues.
Do you save much weight removing the rear seats?
How do you have this ? Are you a lucky ass beta tester?
What exhaust are you running man?
I like using the fuel lines from the Fuel-it kit, instead of cutting the stock line. I cut mine, and it lasted about a year before the inner layers of rubber started to delaminate and leaked fuel. You can buy just the fuel lines from Fuel it for cheap
I had Fuel-it and now Uniflex on my 8V. Both went inline without cutting. App vs App they're both great. The Uni though you can see live E reading by turning off your cruise control and viewing the Hp/TQ % graph on your virtual cockpit. The HP % is now showing E when you have the cruise control in the OFF position. Super cool
Bro, thank you for uploading this video. It helped us alot
I am coming back to Audi after having many Subarus. This is my first RS3 so a few questions please. Are those 21mm bolts one time use for the front caliper and any torque specs? Lastly, does each side have a wear sensor? Just prepping myself for how many deletes will be needed. Thanks!
There are two pad wear sensors, one in the front passengers side and one in the rear drivers side I believe.
@ Thanks for confirming. The other week I got under the car to check and that’s what I saw. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. However, I’m a bit confused here. What’s the point of the calculator tool at the end of the video if the kit should already be able to do all of the calculations for you?
There is currently no flex fuel tunes available for the car, so if your trying to blend to e20 for the stock tune or higher for guys running jb4 this is a tool that can help
@@briansaxon or if maybe you are lucky and have an in with Unitronic it's doing it for you ;)
I used it to get my % up from 75 to 85, using x98 (98% ethanol). I didn’t want to go over 85
Can you please add the link where you buying
Email me and I can help B.saxon@getunitronic.com
How far are we from getting a tune from Unitronic
Very close, it’s worth the wait. Makes the car a riot
My 8v with no ethanol did 11.7. With e20 it went 11.4. No mods but added Ethanol
I run best 7.36 @95 with back seat rests out with 90km remaining in the tank at a street road event@Castertondrags 2023 was my best. At Portland South Coast raceway i run 7.40 is my best so far. 4 weeks and season starts gain ,we are hoping e20 will help a 7.29 😅😊
(Google translate) Why would you sell a perfect RS3 8V2 for the 8Y, which is uglier plus inferior in almost every way? It's like the Golf 7 compared to the Golf 8, the generation before was the pinnacle. And it's the same with the Audi RS3. From the outside, the thing looks like it's been hammered into shape and the front is a disaster, as if the radiator grille had degenerated like a birthmark mutating into skin cancer, spreading all over the front. The headlights, a sporty jagged edge on the 8V2, now a fallen L or - as some call it - bags under the eyes, depending on how you look at it. Then the exaggeratedly wide cheeks at the back - why do they need that on a vehicle that's primarily a front-wheel drive? I would understand it in a BMW M3 with X-Drive or a Porsche 911 4S etc. The interior is a ridiculous joke with lots of creaky plastic and a scratch-prone fake piano lacquer finish. B-pillars uncovered on the sides. The design of the digital speedometer display is a clear step backwards. The only advantage would be the so-called torque splitter for the few people who want to know it on the race track. In addition, the 8Y is always slower than the 8Y with the same tuning power level. Only in the stock state Audi gave the 8Y a little more torque for better stock launch. But as soon as you do Stage 1, 2, 3 etc. it is irrelevant and the 8Y is more effective. In any case, I am so happy to keep my 2018 DAZA and thus drive the top of the RS3 models. Next year, a 2022 R8 V10 will be converted to biturbo with 1250 hp by HGP in Germany and then my girlfriend will drive my 640 hp sedan. But 8Y? No thanks. I had hoped for an improvement in the design, especially of the headlights, with the current model update, but unfortunately that didn't happen. The "fallen L" headlights are still there, as is the mutated grille that spreads across the entire front... But probably you had to get the 8Y due to leasing background etc who knows... 🤷🤔
WTF are you talking about? The Golf R MK8 is way quicker than the MK7 and will literally run circles around it in terms of handling. It also brakes much better. lol.
Sounds like an AI generated reply
@@briansaxon `lol
Thanks Brian. Going to Try to tackle this myself soon. What did you use for the ceramic coating ?
Gtechnic
you know saying "mexico" is a red flag to the HP. Just gonna get you a nock on the door, if its a slow day.
Look at the slope my guy
1-2% slope won’t make a difference from all the testing I’ve done
IS2000s on my '19. On that car, the dust is WAY worse but the pads are leagues better than stock! Those were dangerous on a modded car. These pads are so damn good!
Sitting in staging and everything getting hot definitely doesn’t do it any favors. That has always been my issue at the track.
When you did the 11.92 @ 116.29, was that still with a little E85 in the tank?
Yes
So most of his runs on 93 gas are in the lower 12s, at 112-113... Just like I told you before.
@@DMCarReviews On his other video, he posted a 11.94 @ 114.93 on 93 octane even in 82 degrees.. still patiently waiting for your video of valid dragy run of a stock m340i x drive trapping 115 like you say they do.
@@JVette01 Want a video of an M340i trapping 113-114 in 90 degree weather and a high DA? I have that run saved on video :)
@@DMCarReviews Yes I'd love to see it.
